Apparently, the "Opencore" method is also being actively discussed, but I'm not sure if the I've come to the conclusion that "Clover" has a better track record with less trouble.

Finally, the Latitude's internal card works with the following kext. I just use the TPLINK wireless module.

 

MacOS will be Arm-based and osxlatitude will be more prolific. I'd like to contribute if I can. The best I can do right now is to donate via Paypal, lol.

After many vicissitudes I managed to configure my DELL E6320 with High Sierra 13.6


1) -i7 Sandy Bridge processor
2) -Ram 8 gigabyte
3) -540 gigabyte SSD
4) - Intel HD3000 video card

 

  • I created a new ssdt.aml since Hervè's guide but also Jake Lo's are for 6220.
  • The patch for 2 gigabytes of RAM also works.
  • The Notebook is stable and has not stopped responding for three days.
  • Icloud works
  • App store works

 

The only flaw is Facetime and iMessage. 😪

I see the Bug Report section is not really working. Either pointing to non existing sections or...just WIP like this section....So..I couldn't find anything useable for reporting bugs. Is there a working dedicated section for that? Should we use a thread here in the Feedback section?

 

I just wanted to mention a few issues regarding the post editor. It's got some issues. For example, deleting attachments and saving...the attachments are still there. Basically you can't delete attachments.

Also, it seems to have some weird caching or something... You change something and it's not visible... You need to exit that thread, come back, and even then it's still not updated.

 

Anyway, I'm just curious if you guys are aware of these issues and if there's any dedicated section/thread we can use to report these bugs until any of the official sections are working.

Following it I was able to get a fully working (per guide) Sierra install on an old laptop my work was throwing out. 

 

Thought I would type a quick note about a few things I encountered along the way to help out others incase they do the same install. 

 

First, for some reason, the first USB port I tried to use for installation threw up errors and would not reach the installation screen, switching the USB ports I used fixed this for whatever reason!

 

Second, headphone port audio was initially hissy. In order to fix this, I had to install the codeccommander fix from this thread: Note that, for me at least, the EAPD fix from that thread was not necessary and actually caused a kernel panic on startup on my machine until it was removed.

just finished to install El Cap on my Latitude D630 with nVidia graphics, followed the guide to the T and the system works like charm!

Running 10.11.6 and also installed the most recent patch. Apps store working, sleep working, WiFi working (with compatible BRCM module), external USBs working, VGA external display working, can't ask for more.

Remaining gap: MocOS does not pick up Bluetooth internal, will likely use external dongle for the time being.

 

I want to sincerely share my appreciation for the great work of the masterminds behind this forum!
