[SOLVED] Latest security update broke Lilu (panic) and nVidia now black

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I've previously setup and continued to run it as per the 1151.dmg instructions etc., but this morning after I've done the Security patches (10.12.6, which I postponed for a long time now), the dreared kernel panics hit.

The specific error was a Lilu/vit9696/shiki, and after I've removed the lilu.ext from the Clover/10.12/FakeSMC's plugins, the system is booting, but nVidia is black screen :(

I am able to get streaking display when I boot with nv_disable=1 (ie. VESA mode?)

I've tried to load the latest Clover too, and reloaded the FakeSMC.ext, but still no display.

Where do I start to find the problem, or steps I need to redo from the .DMG?

Asus Z170-A

Clover 4411

Yip, after updating FakeSMC, cloning the directory structure with plugins from 1151.dmg, I've updated LILU and NvidiaGRaphicsFixup, and now it's working again!!!

I am facing a similar problem: After updating to 10.12.6 I get a panic (as.vit9696.Lilu(1.1)) about one second into booting. I can boot by using safe mode.

What would be a first set of actions? I tried putting more recent versions of FakeSMC, IntelGrahicsFixUp, Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixup into  Clover/Kexts/Other but was unsuccessful.

I'd be very grateful for any advice!

EDIT: Issue has been resolved.

Thanks for the tip, Jake. I still get the same error with the following kext versions (seen in the block injected kexts / other from the clover boot loader):

FakeSMC (from the most recent 1151.dmg): v.1058

|-- NvidiaGraphicsFixup: v.1.2.2

|-- LPCSensors v.1058

|-- Lilu v.1.2.2

|-- GPUSensors v.1058

|-- FakeSMCKeyStore v.1058

|-- CPUSensors v.1058

|-- ACPISensors v.1058

Are these versions correct? Should I provide a screenshot of the error message?

Thanks a lot and best regards!

Move the updated kexts into /EFI/Clover/10.12/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/PlugIns otherwise you'll have both old and new versions running, hence the crash.

Note: Incase you don't know how to do that. Right click on FakeSMC.kext and select Show Package Contents. Navigate to Contents/Plugins and move the new kexts in there replacing the old.

Yes post a screenshot of crash so we could be on the same page.

Thanks for the fast reply! Here is my EFI/Clover/kexts:

Version numbers are the same as posted above. (Just to be sure).

I deleted the FakeSMC.kext from the boot drives S/L/E/kexts.

Will edit this post with screenshot from boot in a minute.

Short question: Which information do I blurr? Kernel UUID?

Just need to update  Lilu and NvidiaGRaphicsFixup, should keep the rest as is.

Boot with verbose & debug 0x100 mode, post the whole page, especially the bottom half which should show the error.

      Welcome to OSXL! 😀
We, at OSXL, are a bunch of passionate Hackintoshers who have joined together for creating a community to drive learning, sharing and helping people interested in running Apple Mac software or tinkering with it on non-Apple hardware. We do research and development on a voluntary basis in our free time.
Since its inception in 2010, our team evolved with people joining and going for all sorts of reasons. Nevertheless, this team brought out some of the best people who contributed to making the Hackintosh community progress. Unlike some other players, we’re very proud to we have consistently offered an ad-free website without calling for financial support, except on very rare occasions, and also made one of the best looking sites.😍
Back in the days, we also designed our "EDP" project to provide a common OS X installation package and a unified post-installation tool. EDP basically offered a central hub for system tuning. The project went through several phase and the latest one is currently Work In Progress. We also completed some research work and developed drivers, fixes and patches for some hardware.
We recently revamped our site to a more modern look and implemented latest security features so to give our members an improvise quality of experience.
Also, we are looking to expand for diversifying the content on our site not only to Apple OS, but also Linux, Android and Windows in the very near future with research and development as tech industry has changed a lot recent years and there is so much we can do in other areas and be relevant to what we do.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated people who can invest time and efforts in our community on projects like EDP and many others.
