The best is to obtain the CPU T Junction value off the Intel web site (values differ between CPU families) and the edit the Tjmax value in /E/E/IntelCPUMonitor.kext.

Eg: http://ark.intel.com/products/29761/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T7500-(4M-Cache-2_20-GHz-800-MHz-FSB)

Just did it on my T7500-based D630 (Tjmax=100) and the iStats goodies now report proper T° readings: idling in the low 40s°C and up to 70s°C on high load (similar readings in Win7).

Cheers for the reply, I would assume that by /E/E/ You Mean /Extras/Extensions/. In there there is no .kext called IntelCPUMonitor.kext. Should I download a copy of it and put it in there?

I have also looked on the Intel site and for my CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo T7300) and can see that the T Junction is 100.

Yes, that's what I meant by /E/E, sorry. I'm on Lion 10.7.4 and I have that IntelCPUMonitor kext there. Maybe it's different on another version, but I don't know what you have.

Please note that since I updated my EDP to rev 415 last night, my CPU readings have gone tits up again. The difference I notice in /E/E is that I now have a FakeSMC kext there, a kext I did not seem to have with rev 410.

When I take that FakeSMC kext out of /E/E, T° readings are back to normal.

I have looked in /E/E/ and I have the FakeSMC in there. Are you suggesting that I remove it?
