There should be no problem to install macOS Big Sur on this Haswell/HD4400 laptop. You may lookup any existing Big Sur guide for Haswell-based Dell Latitude laptops but also others. The documentation available on the Dortania repo is also a great place to start.

DW1705 is likely to be a problem though given that it is based on Atheros AR9565 chipset. This chipset never was natively supported in OS X/macOs and required a specifically patched and re-written Atheros40 kext and support has been quite problematic since Mojave. In addition, cards based on this chipset did not always work with the special kext and, when they did, performance was usually limited. Wisdom dictates to replace that card with a fully supported Broadcom model. Look up our R&D->Wireless section for guidance.

All our guides are posted in the Guides section, a section solely reserved to full installation guides. Each subsection is clearly labelled: "Complete guides for XXXX computers. No support here.".

You may also look for existing threads about Latitude 3x40 models in this very section.
