I have a e6400 with intel video. I have ordered a nvidia motherboard and new heat sink and plan to install next week.

Two part question

Will Lion that i currently have installed boot up normally with the hardware change or will i need to reinstall?

Question #2

has anyone nailed down a E.D.P for Mountain lion Yet, or is there a easy to follow install? I hear that mountain lion is faster and more efficient than both lion and snow leopard.

I went to the boot back page http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/bootpack/ but did not see one for E6400 Mountain Lion.

Should i use the lion one and then run edp after install. I read some where in one of these forums to use precision m4300 mountain lion bootpack?

In the forums on this site, under E6XXX, there is a guide for Mountain Lion Installation, under Mountain Lion Anyone? We used the M4300 boot pack which worked well and the E6400/E6500 Lion bootpack which worked well for a member who removed the arch i386 Key and string from the org.chameleon.plist. The keys were the IOPCIFamily kext and editing the NVIDIA kexts to replace those currently installed in ML. Give it a shot, there are several members there who are able to provide assistance if needed.

Hi,

I made to install ML in a E6420 with intel video. Actually the ML recognize the card without problems. You can check my topic to see what I do. I know is not the same hardware but you never knows. I have some issues with other things but It`s up and running.
