E6410 with nVidia NVS 3100M graphics - Mountain Lion Guide

I think that you guys are right.  Using both must be screwing me up (since they use 2 difference caching systems).  So I'm assuming myhack is the relevant app and Kext Wiz is outdated?  

 

I will try to do more today (maybe even here at work).

 

What do you guys suggest for getting this all sorted out?;

 

1) Remove Kext Wizard

2) Install /Extra/Extensions (from ML 10.8.3 zip) 

3) Myhack quick

4) Push /Extra/Extensions to /System/Library/Extensions

5) Myhack full

6) Delete duplicates from /Extra/Extensions

 

???

 

That's just a guess so please let me know if that is wrong.  

 

And when I tried removing all kexts from /Extra/Extensions and pushing them to /S/L/E I got a KP -- myhack quick from my utility USB got me back in, but with no wifi.  

 

Would love to get this sorted out (I have to switch back and forth between osx and win7 for work - IT Tech - and it SUCKS waiting for all the Kexts to load, the other techs are laughing at me )

 

 

EDIT: Since playing around with the Kext Cache I've also realized my Windows formatted (NTFS) HDD is not being detected automatically -- but it shows in Disk Utility and wont mount.  Is there a specific Kext that would be controlling the NTFS drive in the Sata CD-ROM tray?

yeah pretty much all wrong..

 

myhack will do the transfer of e/e to s/l/e so just put what you need in e/e. then remove the s/l/e doubles from that KW injected into s/l/e. run a myfix full and should be all set.

In the past everytime I have run myhack, the E/E folder remains in tact, is this normal?

P.S.  Myhack seems WAY easier than the other hackintosh methods I've tried (on my Desktop / Netbook)

So I had time today at work to delete duplicates out of S/L/E and run Myhack, it booted up fine -- but still cannot find the S/L/C/KernelCache file.  

 

I'm also getting that same error when I try to manually rebuild cache in terminal.

You're running a Vanilla installation, right? Can you post a screencopy of your boot plist when opened in Cham Wizard?

Vanilla install meaning 10.8.0?  I actually think that the installer I used was 10.8.3 retail.

 

And I haven't used Chameleon Wizard for anything so far -- am I supposed to?

Cham Wizard is a great tool, I highly recommend it. Great to edit boot plist and select SMBIOS plist; Perfect to update Chameleon or switch to different versions.

Ok I will get that.  Should I just trash the whole /S/L/C contents and let myhack rebuild?

myHack normally takes care of deleting and rebuilding the cache in /S/L/C/com.kext.apple.caches/... but you can do it manually in case permissions got screwed.

 

Can't give you a link from the top of my head, but it certainly is on kexts.com. Google for it. Last version is 4.2.2, but if you use an earlier version, you'll be prompted to update.

Definitely a cool little tool.  

 

However problem remains -- this time when I ran Myhack, it didn't even make a new /S/L/C/com.kext.apple.caches/ directory.  (It had never been making the Kernelcache file either).
