[Solved] Latitude 7280: stuck trying to install Monterey

Hi there,

I have a Latitude 7280 and wanted to do a Monterey installation. For this I used the EFI from Lorys89: https://github.com/Lorys89/DELL_LATITUDE_7280

Unfortunately I can't get into the setup, it always gets stuck at using 16384 buffer headers and 10240 cluster IO buffer headers... I don't know what to do next... Thanks!

Components:

  • CPU: Intel Kaby Lake i5-7300U
  • iGPU: Intel HD 620 Graphics
  • LAN: Intel I219-LM
  • Audio: Realtek ALC256
  • RAM: Original 8 GB DDR4 2133 Mhz
  • Wifi + Bluetooth: Intel AC 8265
  • Disk: SAMSUNG 980 NVME SSD 1TB (macOS+Win11)

I use:

  • SmBios: MacBookPro 14,1
  • BootLoader: OpenCore 0.7.9
  • macOS: Monterey 12.3

Did you set the DVMT pre allocated as well?

For set CFG LOCK Disabled

setup_var 0x4ED 0x0

For set DVMT PRE Allocated to 64 MB

setup_var 0x795 0x2

For set DVMT Total GFX Mem to MAX

setup_var 0x796 0x3
