The log says it is detected as v3.

FirmWare Version 4525825

The touchpad comes officially with my Acer 4830TG.

I have v3 as well and I did check the left button, I can confirm its working alright for me. Which version of my driver you are using? try the old one and see?

I am using 2.1.3 ML version.

I tried ElanTouchpad_ML_V1.7_Final_V3_Only.zip and ElanTouchpad_v2.1_Final_Mountain Lion.zip. This problem exists in both versions.

Could you upload your working plist so that I can check whether the settings in my plist is correct or not?

Or is there any kext that I forgot to delete? I export the list of my kexts in kext.txt in the attachment.

Thank you.

Its strange to me, I did check on default plist file that comes with my kexts so try it and let me know your issue clearly with some explanation please. I also ask you to PM me since its better to discuss your issue there becoz not everyone has this.

sorry for skipping the part enables two finger scrolling in your post.

after setting scrolling speed, two finger scroll is working.

thanks~

what i want is to enable my left, right button

(as i mentioned my touchpad has no physical buttons - like this model

http://www.emc.com.tw/twn/ts_sth.asp)

if it takes long time (i guess), is there another way to disable touchpad? (not by using physical button)

For v4, I did divide the area of the bottom for the left, middle and right buttons. It was said working fine by the testers so I don't understand how its not working for you, are you using default plist file of my kext or edited any values? Plz elaborate a little about your issue.

Its best if you PM me the issue since its not relevant to everyone.

Not sure if anyone can help me out. No matter which way I configure the preferences in the .plist I can't get a single tap to register a click. All actions that would require a single click with a mouse (selecting icons, menu items, windows etc.) require a double tap on the trackpad. Any ideas, or is this just the way the touchpad is supposed to function? Thanks.

Which version of touchpad you have and which version of my kext you are using? PM me and I'll try to help you.

I just registered to say that your work is extremely appreciated. I'm currently using it on my Asus ZenBook UX32VD (V4 touchpad) and it is just mind-blowing how much you've accomplished with this driver so far. Really amazing work. Personally I disabled a lot of the swiping gestures because I kept triggering a lot of wrong gestures since there are so many, but the amount of choice we're given here is really astounding.

I'll post some suggestions as well according to my experience so far:

  • I couldn't find any way to disable the "four finger hold to minimize application" feature in the Info.plist or anywhere else. Implementing an option to disable it would be great!
  • I couldn't find a way to swap three finger and four finger swipe to "change between spaces" (applications). By default it is the four finger swipe left and right, but I personally like it to be three finger instead. I could do it if I sacrificed the Dashboard as a space and made it into option 3 instead, but not without disabling dashboard as a space, could it be possible to swap these without disabling the dashboard space?
  • When I use four fingers swipe up while having "Four finger swipe UpDown" set as false, it starts Finder's search function in a window. Maybe a bug?

One feature I'd really love that I had on my previous laptop (HP ProBook 4530s) using RehabMan's Synaptics driver was "momentum scrolling". Basically the sort of really smooth scrolling that the normal Mac trackpads has. Since the RehabMan's Synaptics driver has this and is open-source, maybe it can give you some ideas how to do it on the Elan touchpads? (Even though they are completely different hardware components made by completely different companies).

Other than that it is really one amazing piece of software you've managed to create here. It can sometimes be a little bit tricky to pull of gestures, but it really redefined my OS X experience on my new laptop and I would love to see further updates and optimisations done to this driver. You've done a really great job so far, keep it up!

I'll donate 20$ to you straight away as a thanks for creating this and I'm hoping to see more great development on it!
