All you need to do is:

  1. place the AppleALC kext (not a plist!) in your OpenCore kext folder
  2. inject it into macOS by adding the reference to the AppleALC kext in your OpenCore config (below the Lilu kext in the list)
  3. add/test the various layout ids one by one in your OpenCore config

Remember to reset NVRAM at OpenCore Picker when you reboot after making a change to the OpenCore config.

You have a lot of reading and learning to do...

 

Only the OC config file called "config.plist" is used/loaded. It's the file you need to edit to add the references to all the kexts you want to load/inject into macOS. Unless you do that, you can add all the kexts (drivers) of the world in the kexts folder, it'll do nothing.
