Specs:

i7 -3770 | 4GB ram | HD4000 | 128GB SSD | Mountain Lion 10.8.5 | Mavericks | BIOS A14

Very easy build.

  1. Build USB Installer with myHack with generic Extra folder
  2. Extract my Extra - Opt9010 folder to USB drive Extra - Opt9010.zip
  3. Boot with USB Installer ( Make sure to plug monitor to displayport/DVI, vga is not supported)
  4. When prompt, select "Use My Own" and point to Extra - Opt9010
  5. Select Yes 3 times to delete issue kexts
  6. Ignore the Install Failed error at the end, just restart the computer
  7. Complete the install
  8. Done.

What's working:

  • HD 4000 Full QE/CI
  • Dual display is working with the 2 built-in DisplayPort
  • Sleep works if set manually (fixed with DSDT)
  • Built-in Speaker / Headphone jack

:excl: Update: Installed Mavericks DP4 and then update to GM (13A603) with same boot pack, no issue. Same instructions above except added switches "-v -f" to step 3.

Bronxteck found a solution to get USB3 loaded. Download GenericUSBXHCI.kext to Extra/Extension.You need to get a patched DSDT. Just extract a clean DSDT from Chameleon. Search for "Windows 2009" and change it to "Darwin". Add the DSDT to Extra and reboot. Bam! USB3 enabled.

Sleep works now too!

UPDATE!

Yosemite Guide can be found here. Bootpack is on post #5 of the guide

Excellent, another to the list! Well done!

What do you mean re: Sleep works "manually"? Anything that doesn't work at all?

Herve,

It won't go to sleep automatically, I have to click on sleep to get it to sleep. I probably need a DSDT file to fix that I guess.

1,Build USB Installer with myHack with generic Extra folder

2,Extract Extra - Opt9010 folder to USB

3,Boot with USB Installer    (VGA is not supported? 9010DT HD4000 Doesn't have a DVI or HDMI!  )  VGA is OK to run...

4,Select "Use My Own" and point to Extra - Opt9010

5,Select Yes 3 times to delete issue kexts

6,Install Failed at the end! OS X could not installed on your computer.

Ignore Install Failed error and restart, then...could not work ...boot with USB only... :(

You need to get a Displayport to DVI or Displayport to HDMI adapter. Personally, I haven't tested the DP to HDMI adapter, but only DP to DVI adapter which works perfectly. You don't need to rebuild your system, just plug in the adapter and you'll see OSX is installed successfully.

What is exactly your problem? That you can only boot from USB to your installed Mountain Lion, and not from your main drive?

Easy to fix!

  1. Boot your (installed) Mountain Lion from your USB.
  2. When booted, open myHack.app from the install USB.
  3. Choose Install myHack Utilities.
  4. When done, open again and choose: Install Chameleon.
  5. When done, open again and choose: Install Extra. Select the Extra from this first post.

After this you should be able to boot from your hard drive, instead of your USB :-).

Hello Guys! I followed the guide (Thanks to Jake Lo). And it worked great, I have to add PCIe Video Card to make use of the HDMI to HDMI/DVI.

Only issue is that, when I click Shutdown, it does not, It only gets stuccoed at the Gray Screen with mouse pointer.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. :)
