Optiplex 9010

I got past the boot device issue.  But the graphics card is the issue obviously.

3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3570S Processor (6M, 3.1GHz) w/HD2500 Intel Graphics, Optiplex 9010 AIO

I plugged the HDMI cable into a monitor, it gets a fuzzy/messed up picture using that as it sits at the install screen.

Not sure if there is some ability to have that graphics card available, inject that, or if supported.

Maybe chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) or something instead of Chameleon?  Thought I saw that option in that bootloader.

Ran the install on an HP 6000 AIO, all went well until first boot, no mouse/keyboard.  Was fine during install, going to work on that, but would rather get that Dell working.

Not sure how it is possible to any another graphics card, no ports, it's an all-in-one box.  Except a USB type for adding additional monitors.

Thanks

So, I have to use chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) on the USB disk to get it to the GUI, but I get the spinning colored wheel on the screen forever.  The apple logo is in the upper left, status bar up top with nothing.  That is all she wrote.

Dropped Natit in the Extra, ran MyFix, updated the IntelHD kext files and ran myfix etc...still the same.

At least I can see it on the main monitor screen as well as the HDMI output I have connected..but something still isn't right.

chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) gets me a little further with the IGPEnabler options for the IntelHD 2500 support.

Kind of stumped at this point.  Still can't get the NIC working on the other HP computer I got setup, everything else works, but can't find a kext for that either to drop in.

did you set your bios graphics to auto and or test it as primary. the amount of ram changes... i was able to get to the installer screen without modifying graphics kext. i do not recall if i needed graphicsenabler on or off and natit.

Are you talking specifically about an All In One?  You can't disable or change anything related to the video in the bios.

So, I did some other stuff, and can get it to display the install, but only to the HDMI part, and it thinks the screen is extended, so the screen I need to see is in the internal monitor, not the HDMI.

Going to keep playing with it.  Seems like I either get it to display and freeze up on the correct internal monitor, or it doesn't and I can't see what is going on.

So much fun!

Ok, so I've made it to the installation now and first reboot.

Here is what I did to get it working...have a few other issues now, please see below if you can help:

1) Create myhack USB bootable disk.

2) Download/Install chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) onto the bootable disk, this has IGPEnabler=Yes support by default for the HD2500 graphics card.

3) Download the natit.kext files, as well as the Intel graphics kext from this link: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/

Extract those and put them in the Extra Extensions folder on the USB disk.  Run a myfix on the disk.  It should then add/update those new kext files to support booting and the graphics card.

4) Boot from the disk, boot switch: IGPEnabler=Yes -v

It should load the natit and find the graphics card, as the display will show, and boot to the installer screen.

5) Install normal from this point forward.

6) Upon reboot, no more working video.  So I did a GraphicsEnabler=No -v -f -x and rebooted.

7) Reboot successful to setup screen and get to desktop.

Now the computer will go to sleep and won't come out of that mode via keyboard.

Otherwise, NIC working, the OS X things the video is now a HD4000 Intel.

Put boot commands for kernel in startup file and working through sleep mode/myhack kext issues.
