[04/03/2011] - D820 BIOS rework

So guys... because of D430 Bios which really good works i was also modding the D820 Bios too.

 

!!! WARNING - THERE ARE DIFFERENT BIOSES FOR NVIDIA AND INTEL - BE SURE YOU FLASH THE RIGHT BIOS BEFORE SOMETHING GOES WRONG !!!

 

Recover must be afaik the same like D430

 

Please try the recover function before flashing a modded bios

I would have no problems testing this if you could alter it somewhat. I have a Precision M65 which is almost identical product wise - would it be hard to change it? Or help me change it myself?

If anyone tested this as of yet are there any reports? Also, this was based on EDP ver. 1.6RC1 vs. the latest version. Will this cause any conflicts?

Well. We have a D830 Bios, but I dont know if it is stable or not. Maybe you give it a try?

 

Bios Update is not needed. It's just insert the DSDT, custom bootscreen and Slic. So its helpful for the first installation and the rest is cosmetic ;)

To update my D820 from BIOS Rev A03 required a

USB Stick that was either not 8GB or not made with Disk Utility.

 

Finally, I found a 4GB stick in a drawer that I knew had been

formatted on a PC months or years ago, and

all the steps worked exactly as outlined here!
