[03/03/2011] - D430 BIOS rework

Recommended Posts

New Version updated - insert newest DSDT... see first post

CRC, may I kindly ask what changed?

THX!

EDIT: I understood that you inserted DSDT from EDP 1.6 RC1. But what are the differences to the old one?

You will have to look in EDP to get the answer to that =)

:) Yes, sure...

But where can I get the EDP 1.6 RC1? On EDP page I can only see EDP 1.5.

yep.. its not quite out yet ;)

Does it makes sense to update BIOS if I don't have the rest of the EDP 1.6 RC1 (kexts and such)?

OK, I did the BIOS update and everything seams to be OK so far. Booting, sound, sleep, etc.

Since I don't know what the differences to 1.5 OSX BIOS (or inBIOS DSDT) are, I don't know where to look to have a real test.

The only thing I am missing is the WiFi status light. But I cannot really recall if I had this in the version 1.5.

However, here are the lights in order of lights appearance:

Numeric Keypad - NO.

Caps Lock (uppercase letter button) - YES (if caps lock is on).

Scroll Lock - NO.

Wireless - NO.

Bluetooth - YES (if turned off in BIOS - NO).

Is this the DSDT or something else?

Just a thought... I'm more interested in a nice 'bios password' screen than opening splash screen, as I see it a lot more.

any thoughts on making that screen nice? That would be the thing to make me want to bios flash.
