Dell D430 Update to EDP 1.8 wont boot

just put a pcmcia card in the slot... in EDP when you choose pcmcia driver= yes it tells you you have to boot with the card inserted... and this is the reason why. not all models are affected but d4x0 are.

I put one in and it lights up, but it still hangs at that point.

well does it still stop there in verbose with the card in... just another thought maybe try turning off pcmcia in your bios then run -v -x can als try it before changing bios settings, if it boots into snow rerun edp.
