Dell Latitude D620 Thread

Hi everybody!

N00b typing here, please bear with me!

Problem: After I've rebuilt the kext cache, OS X switches off the monitor upon boot when entering Hi-Res mode.

Long version: Had a almost flawlessly operating 10.6.0, built with D620SLV1.iso from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=178411. Updated to 10.6.6, after reboot WLAN was gone ("No Airport card installed"). Found this page: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.4/Portables#Latitude_D620_-_Service_Tag:_3ZNMR2J. Accordingly, I copied over IO80211Family.kext from my Time Machine backup and rebuilt the kext cache using "sudo kextcache -v 1 -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Extensions". Rebooted again, now the display switches off after the initial spinning logo phase.

I'm quite stuck here. Any ideas how I can fix (without restoring from backup, that is...). On a sidenote, I don't have an external monitor at hand. Thanks in advance!

Well, trouble is, I can't operate OSX without seeing nothing... So I need a way to fix this without the need of a fully booted desktop. Thank you, guys!
