Paradizze Posted April 8, 2015 Share Posted April 8, 2015 I have my father old D630 With intel Wireless, with Cpu Maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz (c2d) and minimum of 1.2GHz, 2Gb dual ddr2 sdram at 667MHz and Nvidea Nvs 135M I would like to know that can i install yosemite or mavericks on this system? i will use it for basic things like browsing with chrome, opening office 2011 (at same time as browsing internet and music/Sometimes hd videos) it will lag? and what cheapest wireless card available for this machine thank you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Administrators Hervé Posted April 8, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 8, 2015 No, not as bad, but your CPU sounds like a low end T7100 or T5670 Merom C2D. Penryn T9x00 CPUs with larger L2 cache and higher frequencies are better suited for Mavericks and Yosemite which are more power hungry. Add an SSD and you'd have a decent enough Hackintosh laptop.
