Refined ALPS TouchPad driver

You too have an ALPS V8...

I'll be releasing a test with V8 support soon.

EDIT:

ALPS V8_test_1: (Will work with all versions)

- Experimental support for V8 hardware. (WARNING: MAY CAUSE KP)

- Touchpad prefpane now loads on Sierra and setting are saved.

- Fixed scrolling on Sierra (Finally!!!!)

- CapsLock works properly in Sierra now.

The kext is surely better because now I can use ctrl+drag functionality in Xcode but I can no longer tap on trackpad: there is no trackpad now. I have to use the two physical buttons.

I have an E5550 and am using the latest V8 kext, but I'm still not seeing anything under system touchpad settings and I get the following when I run Touchpad Settings.app:

Can’t get «class sgrp» 1 of window "Trackpad" of «class pcap» "System Preferences" of application "System Events". Invalid index.
System Events got an error: Can’t get group 1 of window "Trackpad" of application process "System Preferences". Invalid index. (-1719)

Also I can't find anything with ALPS written in my dmesg output.  What am I missing?

Laptops can only be woken through lid opening, PWR button or, if set in BIOS, network activity or USB. Desktops can be woken through PWR button or, if set in BIOS, network activity or USB. But sheer keyboard or Touchpad action won't wake a Hackintosh afaik.

V8 test 3:

- Added V8 valid_byte check

- Work on interrupt handling again (for Rushmore)

PS. V8 trackstick is disabled for now.

Open console while testing and see if any ALPS messages appear when you touch the touchpad/trackstick.

EDIT: Deleted attachment. Major mistake with V8. Sorry

Thanks for replying,

But if I press power button it shuts down immediately.

I think you have file/permission corruption. Replace the prefpane with the original *untouched* sierra one.

Or reinstall macOS.

Works good as V8 test2
