Recommended Posts

Hervé recently answered a question, and that I needed a graphics card to run Yosemite on my OptiPlex 745. I have been looking and I one choice, I just don't know if they would run with mac Yosemite and future versions ( El Capitan ). I saw this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/nVidia-GeForce-1GB-VGA-DVI-HDMI-PCI-Express-x16-Video-graphics-Card-Low-profile-/380746318263?hash=item58a63fc1b7:g:FoAAAOSwhMFXlLF6 and if it does work can someone please supply me a kext for it?

NVidia GeForce GT610 works OOB from Mountain Lion 10.8 up to El Capitan 10.11. Seems problematic in Sierra 10.12.

Another good cheap choice is GeForce G210 and that would appear to work Ok in Sierra.

There are various threads here (and at other forums) discussing compatible graphics card. You can do a search on the forum and in Google.
