E6230, i5-3340, Sierra 10.12.1, Wifi and Trackpad Problem

Hello, I have updated to Sierra using Hervé's Guide, many thanks for that!

As far as I can see everything works fine, except Wifi. I use an old imac card, which works fine under EC in the WWAN slot. Is the card supported under Sierra?

Trackpad is working, but not perfect. The system settings/trackpad is empty.

Wifi with this card is discussed at great length on the forum. You can use the Search facility.

Trackpad works fine with Dr Hurt's driver Release 4. You can look ut the thread in the associated R&D forum subsection. The files for the TrackPad PrefPane are also mentioned and provided.

I've got the AR5B91 Wifi card and it works perfectly (oob) under Sierra like El Capitan! :)

A sound problem still: the headphone output does not work, in the System Preferences / Sound there is also no selection under Sierra...

Try to put the laptop to sleep then wake it. Headphones should then work.

Remember to re-patch your AppleHDA binary file if you update Sierra, though reverting to v278.52 of my posted pack should work too. The patch is as follows:

Find: 8419B411
Replace by: 00000000

Find: 8A19D411
Replace by: 00000000

Find: 8B19D411
Replace by: DF761D11

There are 2 x instances each time.

I've not needed CodecCommander or EPADFix but you may add it if you find that the headphone output does not always work until your put laptop to sleep then wake it.

The second and third image looks like you're using VoodooHDA.

The internal speaker and headphone should switch when you plug in the headphone.

You might have to toggle sleep once for the auto switch to take place.

CodecCommander and EAPfix are not needed as far as I know for IDT audio.
