Got a D830

Okay, so I got myself a D830. Heavily abused, but free.

Has the nVidia Quadro NVS 140m chip, meaning it gets 1920x1200.

I have had bad luck with the Intel model I used to have. So I have some questions.

1. Is there a stable custom BIOS upgrade available?

2. When making my USB pen, do I just follow the regular guide or do I use a different Extra folder?

3. In EDP, will the D830 Nvidia option work?

Sorry for asking, but I want to know beforehand if it will work.

Got the same computer

Everything works out of the box (except wifi...i changed my card with a airport compatible one)

Make your pen drive following tutorial "Install Lion on a supported machine" (with a 10.7.0 dmg image...not a 7.2)

First BOOT start EDP2.2 install kext (1-12) and Chameleon and everything you need/want (for example Fix Hibernate voodooHDA PS2 ect..)

Before making a update to 10.7.2 make a change on your DSDT.aml to protect you against Blackscreen

By modding

Replace:

QUOTE

"device_type"

Buffer (0x0D)

{

"NVDA,Geforce"

}

with:

QUOTE

"device_type"

Buffer (0x0C)

{

"NVDA,Parent"

}

One important thing, if you got a Hard Drive with 4K cluster

To avoid BOOT: Error

Make a Ubunto Live CD and type the following terminal command

sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/sda"x" bs=4096 (x = your OSX partition)

download boot1h on following link

Issue 4K Chameleon

Good Luck
