I don't have windows, is there anyway to know which is which from the IOReg above ?

great, then your I2C kexts won't work directly on my setup.
Is it possible to change the PCI IDs in the 7490 kexts to match mine and install those instead ?
I would like to have the touchpad working, no need for the trackPoint honestly.

It'll be one of the device ids listed when you click on each of the 3 x I2Cx@yy devices in IOReg.
okey, I got 3 devices :
device-id : <60 9d 00 00> / <61 9d 00 00> / <62 9d 00 00> , how do I convert it to the format you mentioned before :

What are the PCI ids of the TouchPad/TrackPoint models fitted to your 7480? On the 7490:
- TouchPad = 1028:081c (Dell-renamed Alps)
- TrackPoint = 044e:1212 (Alps)
also I attached screenshots from the 3 devices that I have

You'll find the device id when clicking on the actual individual ACPI devices. Not on the Voodoo driver info.

ah, so there is a good chance that the trackpad I2C kext from the 7490 would also work on the 7480 ? can you refer me to where it exists ?
-
BY trackPad, you mean the full gestures trackpad or the mouse emulation from the voodoo kext ? because as far as I know if the trackpad is not supported the kexts emulates a mouse. maybe the kext needs an upgrade.

Hey !
I just figured out that macOs doesn't utilize the fans properly to cool the laptop, due to apple reasons. So I wanted to know if there is a way of changing that, making the fans run faster on lower temperature.
My fans currently will start getting loud on 80 degrees C, which is quite high and the laptop gets hot so I need that to change.
Please help.
Thanks

What i meant is the printed sticker that is related to the security chip. Is That supported by MacOs OOB ? which kind of applications uses those ?
-
Hey !
I know that the NFC sticker on my Latitude 7480 is supposed to be used to unlock the PC by passing an NFC card or my phone, Is there anyway of using that with my Mojave installation ?
I can't find anything about it online.
Is it bundled in the Security chip that handles fingerprint and SC cards ?
I do have the chip visible in my system info .

So I ended up with the attached which gets me booting with FileVault 2 on my 7600U based E7480, but HDMI causes an instant lock-up and the display isn't responding to the special function keys (changing brightness, etc.). I was originally using Jake Lo's bootpack, but there I couldn't get the FileVault 2 login window to come up. I wondered if anything obvious stood out.
You can try this config :
then add the fixes in the later comments for the ALC. it should fix the HDMI proble

Fantastic, do SDCARD work ? WWAN ? FingerPrint ? better Trackpad support ?

Hey !
I am trying to make the WWAn modem work on my latitude 7480 running Mojave.
It does show up on my system info like the screenshot :
I also attached my clover and debug files.
I tried using the Legacy Sierra QMI kext from this post :
but with no use.
Can anybody help ?

Yah, I think this is fastest way to get working modem.
I have tried Legacy_QMI.kext for Sierra OS. The DW5811 modem is visible in system report - position usb and wwan.
I tried set modem to USBCOMP=6 under Win10 to swithch modem to QMI mode. But modem stil dosnt work under Mojave while under Win10 it works well. Perhaps its possible to force it wokr under Mojave but it require qite some time and effords.
Yes, i also tried it on my windows when i had it and it worked. The chip is available on my usb list too.
For the dedicated thread, @Matroskin did you create one already ?
-
I am going to follow this for the moment

That would be very nice, thanks. keep me posted on any news

@Matroskin Did you make your 4G Chip work on Mojave ? with my wifi not working and getting a nez wifi card proving more difficult than actually making one, I may need to use the 4G chip.

That's sad

Why only the 2 finger gestures? I meant is there no fix for it or does the touchpad itself (hardware) not support more than 2 fingers ?

@catmater is the Touchpad still not fully detected in your setup ? -

But now i broke sound in headphones. cant find reason why, try layout 13,56 , but no luck
SSDT-ALC256.aml in ACPI/Patched , CodecCommander.kext in S/L/E , layout 13 , and no sound in phones. Then i plug phones in jack, sound off (speaker) but no sound in phones.
@Jake Lo, did you have any advise ?
I have the same thing too. but something I found out is that when plugging the headphones the sound works for a split second and then cuts off. if that helps anyway
