Good day,
Good people I have now moved to beta 12.1 and updated to Opencore 0.7.5. All is still good, just still searching for the compatible wifi card and it looks like I will have to buy it from Amazon, as locally there's just nothing.
Let's enjoy,
-
It doesn't like rebooting and power off is what it likes. Mine is always working, for as long as I completely shut down the machine
-
Please note that for your bluetooth to work under these circumstances is only by shutting down your machine and no reboots.
-
I eventually got my Intel bluetooth working using the BlueToolFixup.kext & IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext and for the wifi I am currently using the TP-Link USB mini dongle.
-
FakePCIID.kext is a no go, don't use
IO80211HighSierra.kext is a no go, don't use
I suggest that you begin with USBInjectAll.kext and create your own USBPorts.kext
All is working except Atheros wifi and Intel bluetooth

Thanks, as I eventually moved to an updated opencore version with your help

I was on Big Sur beta 6 and I am now currently running 11.1, but I regret moving to this new version, cause I can no longer modify system files in order to have a smooth running hack.
-
Please help me here, as I can't move to the newer versions of opencore and whatever I try the new versions will only boot to recovery. Attached is my current 0.6.1 working EFI

Yes of course it is possible , try following the E6540 guide and see for yourself.
-
@esmith1966, Yes bootpack is up to date, as I have just confirmed that it is working perfect with Beta 4 and it is still running perfect today.
-
@Chandara It is exactly the same as yours, with only RAM 8 gigs and WiFi AR5B95. Yes you can use my EFI and chances are you will have to create your own USBPorts.kext.

Okay beta 4 all up and running smooth, even though I couldn't update like a real Mac, because of deleted snapshot and had to use the usb installer t o update.
-
The SMCBatteryManager.kext is preventing me from getting to the login screen
-
The one you sent me 3 posts above
Only three fingers gesture is not working and trackpad does not show in system preferences
-
Thank you Jake Lo, at long last I found a working one and I can now install without a USB keyboard & mouse . Another thing, the touchpad is no longer sensitive
-
@Jake Lo I see in the attached SSDT-9.aml there's is this "Device (_SB.PCI0.GFX0.PNLF)" and is it not supposed to be "Device (_SB.PCI0.IGPU.PNLF)"?
-
@Lego, Please note that for your graphics to work properly, you still have to follow the same procedure you followed with Catalina and as @Jake Lo has stated, you have to use your own (DSDT, USBPort.kext and the other important SSDTs)
-
Not as yet, but will report back once done
Unfortunately it is giving the same error "Dependancy com.apple.iokit.IOHIDSystem fallback to com.apple.iokit.IOHIDFamily succeeded. Please fix your kext!"
-
I have just used it and it worked Thank you
-
@Lego, You must carry on with Preboot, as Big Sur 3 has some bug of not renaming back to the original name after install.
-
Thanks Jake Lo, I will give it a try and will see how it goes. Opencore is complaining about something wrong with VoodooPS2Controller.kext and it says that I must fix it.
-
Are you using my Opencore?
-
@Lego, You're are always welcome. Please get started and remember to have a USB keyboard & mouse handy for the installation. Opencore did not allow my VoodooPS2Controller.kext, so we will be installing that in Library/Extensions after the installation
-
@Hervé, Please don't get me wrong, as I get your point and I would love to do that. The thing is that it took me more than four weeks to get where I am today and chances are that I don't remember all the things I did. Anyway let me try:
1. Create a Big Sur USB installer
2. Download the EFI-11.1.zip on post 4 above and paste it in the EFI of the Big Sur USB installer
3. For the installation phase a USB Keyboard & Mouse are required
4. After the first login install VoodooPS2Controller.kext in Library/Extensions
5. Repair permissions using Terminal or Hackintool, disconnect USB Keyboard & Mouse and reboot
6. Your Keyboard & Trackpad should now be working, just fine tune it in System Preferences under Trackpad
7. Now is the fun part of getting Read/Write Access, which there are guides on Google on how to do that
8. After done with point 7, the snapshots will be deleted and "sudo mount -uw /" working go to 9
9. Please don't deactivate the Radeon HD 8790M if you require HDMI Audio and also set to false FakePCIID_HDMI in Opencore
10. Go to System/Library/Extensions/AMD8000Controller.kext, info.plist and add 0x66061002 in both fields where the other devices are
11. Step 10 is to make your sleep/wake to be 100%
12. Always remember that after making any changes in System/Library/Extensions/ you must always "sudo kmutil install --update-all" then "sudo kcditto"

Good day good people,
I will be selling my E6540 soon, as I have just bought myself the Matebook X Pro 2018 and running 12.0.1 in it already hackintosh obsession I believe. Don't worry though as I will be popping this side to check how you lovely people are doing and will still contribute in anyway I can.
Wish you stable hackintoshes,
