  1. OMG! That was it! I finally have it running in 64 bit.

However, I realized that I have to disable "userkextcache" because for some reason, even though I add it to 0edp.kext and extensions folder and Rebuild the kextcaches and all, it won't load them.

However, in chameleon wizard, if I disable userkextcache, it will load the kexts fine without a problem.

    Anyone have any clue?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. We already know what doesn't allow us to boot into full 64 bit mode: the Ps2 for Trackpad and Keyboard on the d630.

I realized the following today after working on my d630 for over a week.

In 32 bit mode, I will occasionally get the [pci configuration begin] stall.

I have tried the npci=0x2000, etc. but no matter what, every few boots it will freeze on pci config begin.

I then decided to turn off i386 and boot in with x64. It booted, except my trackpad stopped working after I touched any key on the keyboard.

Until I touched the keyboard, the mouse still worked. Astonishing.

Basically, the keyboard kext looks like its not 64 bit, and caused the trackpad to stop working too.

However, in x64 mode, I realized that I NEVER stalled on the [pci config begin] part anymore. It blazed through that part every single time. On 32 bit, it sticks around at ACPI s0 s1 s2 etc. for a few seconds before it either passes the pci config begin, or stalls there. In 64 bit, it flies through in a millisecond.

Now my question is... Is there any way we can Recompile ANV-Slice Ps2 kexts etc to make EDP a full 64 bit release? Because as of now, its either 64 bit with pci config fixed but ps2 trackpad/keyboard broken... OR ... 32 bit with 1 out of 2-3 boots getting stuck on [pci config begin] and ps2 works. 64 bit also seems quicker overall.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. I realized that "Devious" username had a custom Voodoops2controller that ran in 64-bit so the keyboard keeps working.

I keep getting the [pci configuration begin] bug in 32 bit, and it gets fixed in 64 bit, but I lose keyboard and eventually trackpad support.

Can you please upload your Extensions folder here?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. On my D630/nvidia, downloaded and installed 2.2 EDP on 10.7.2

Every few boots or so, I get stuck on [PCI Configuration Begin].

    I've added npci=0x2000, 0x3000, etc

I have also tried both D630 Intel and Nvidia packs and I get the same problems.

Why do I keep getting stuck at [PCI CONFIGURATION BEGIN]???

Sometimes it doesn't show up for 3 boots or so, then it shows up 3 restarts in a row.

    Thanks in advance!

  5. then try graphicsenabler=no at boot and make sure your resolution is proper for your machine... oh and what chameleon version are you running?

I tried actually installed the D630 + Intel package because I said "hey, what have I got to lose" and that method fixes the BLANK screen problem when loading the OS. Basically what I did was select the D630 + Intel and then went to boot.list and added GraphicsEnabler=YES and my Nvidia works pretty well. As a result, I believe there is something wrong in the D630/Nvidia DSDT.aml that is causing the display not to turn on every now. You can tell it's the display since after booting when the screen goes blank, pressing volume up/down make sounds which indicates the system is up and running, just no display.

I however still get stuck at [PCI Configuration Begin]. That is my biggest issue right now! Every now and then, I get passed it and boot into the OS, which works fine.

Why do I keep getting stuck at PCI Config Begin? I tried the ncpi=0x2000 and the PCIroot=1, etc... I've tried it all. Nothing works!

Why is my config cursed?!! Thanks in advance.

  6. I noticed that when moving a hard drive from D620 with Intel Graphics into a D620 with Nvidia, it worked nicely even at 1140x900 res. So you may want to try this; run the edptool from /Extra and choose Intel Graphic model.

  7. First and foremost, I really like to thank the people that run this website. I do not take anything here for granted. I know it takes a lot of hard work to put these kind of kext packs together and I appreciate and understand that.

I have a D630 with Nvidia graphics. Am running A17 bios. Newest Chameleon and have tried EDP on 10.7 and 10.7.2.

I have tried EDP 1.9.2 then 2.1 then 2.2. They all DO NOT work.

    On EDP version 2.2,

3 out of every 6 boots, it gets stuck on [PCI Configuration Begin].

1 out of every 6 boots, it boots, but the screen turns black (someone on this website has also indicated that in another post). The computer has booted, but the video card or laptop screen is dark. Volume up and down make noise which indicates its a video issue.

1 out of every 6 boots, it Kernel Panics

Finally, the last 1 out of 6 times, it actually gets into Lion. When its in Lion, most things work fine.

I have tried this pack with 10.7 and 10.7.2. I know how to install things as I am a computer engineer, and I have followed everything on this website to the last detail.

I have tried for over a week straight to install Lion and have it run right, but it does not work! I'm guessing the d630 + intel works great since more people own them, but d630 + nvidia is getting no love.

There has to be an error in the dsdt (as someone else pointed out in another post) or some error in the boot.plist or whatnot.

Either way, can someone please help?

    Thanks in advance!

  8. I have the latest bios a17. My bios settings are all normal. My boot.plist has graphicsenabler on Yes.

I remember someone in another post say that there might be something wrong in the dsdt or the boot.plist settings as they also had a blank screen. Plus, My system ran snow leopard for years perfectly.
