  1. Hi Skorpio! Dobro dosao!

I hope this community was helpful to you.

If you follow the guides and use the EDP/MyHack as described, you will be fine.

    PS

Probaj pratiti sve korake onako kako je opisano. Ako imas problema, pogledaj prvo u arhivu. Ako tamo nista ne nadjes, e - onda pitaj tu. :)

    Sve dobro!

  2. @HaraldRT

Well, the one thing I know: it is NOT in USB mode. There is no USB storage or partition to be seen. At least in Finder, PathFinder and Disk Utility.

    @Mariusz

Is this out of your System Information or have you used any kind of a tool to extract this info?

  3. Now, after I installed Sierra software it looks like this:

Sierra as USB MMC Storage?! Maybe my DSDT. Are you using the EDP one?

  4. OK. I uninstalled my Sierra Watcher 2.6 and rebooted. After the boot there was no WWAN card (or modem or whatever of that ilk) in my network preferences.

I deleted NetworkInterfaces.plist and preferences.plist out of /Library/Preference/SystemConfiguration/ to force Lion to do another HW check and write new plists. Rebooted. Still no WWAN card. Then I installed SierraWatcher. As you said: it works. But I don't know why my D430 does not use AppleWWANSupport2.kext to initialize the WWAN card and offer it for connectivity. Any ideas?

    PS

I don't even have AppleWWANSupport2.kext in my S/L/E. Did you have it by default or just installed it yourself?

EDIT: OK, I found it. It is a plugin for IOSerialFamily.kext, which is a part of my /S/L/E kexts. But still, it didn't do anything with my WWAN card.

  5. Mariusz,

how did you get this WWAN card working with native drivers??

I have the same card but needed to use Watcher 2.0.6 (like described on OSXL Wiki). Otherwise I could not see the card.

In general it works with Sierra Watcher 2.0.6 drivers, but in some stages I had issues (endless loops and such). And I have issues connecting to 3G (usually switching to GPRS for no apparent reason).

I would prefer to use the card with vanilla drivers but apparently you found a newer Watcher which work with MC8781. Do they work in 32bit too (D430)?

    Thanks!

  6. OK, OSXL community!

We are as far as we could get with dev and testing of the new EDP packages. You are getting those due courtesy of OSXL Crew, but mainly Leon, Bronx Teck, CRC and Daniel.

You can find the download files here

    Here are the changelogs:

Activity log for EDP 1.9.2 - Snow Leopard ONLY!

    ------------------------------

07/10-2011 Daniel Replaced /Models/D620-intel/Extensions/AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext with another one - because it doesn't worked with Lion, now the fixed one works

    09/10-2011 Leon Updated voodooHDA.kext with new ID's

14/10-2011 Leon Updated build mode with support for both x86 and x64

03/11-2011 Leon Updated the Chameleon theme to a new OSXLatitude theme

17/11-2011 Leon Updated "Hardware info" and "cWizzard" apps in storages/apps

    17/11-2011 Leon Updated Chameleon in storage/apps to 2.1 r1684

17/11-2011 Leon Added support for Dell Precision M4300 (Created by CRC)

17/11-2011 Leon Updated the "Hardware info" application

    Activity log for EDP 2.2

    ------------------------------

05/10-2011 Leon Renamed /Extra/storage/fixes/appleintelintergratedframebuffer to /Extra/storage/fixes/Lion-gma950fix - now the GMA fix will work

07/10-2011 Daniel Replaced /Models/D620-intel/Extensions/AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext with another one (because it doesn't worked with Lion, now the fixed one works)

    09/10-2011 Leon Updated voodooHDA.kext with new ID's

12/10-2011 Leon Added new build method where we will be using OSX's kernelcache. The new method, includes adding all kexts to a dummy next called 0edp.kext, this file is then copied to /System/Libary/Extentions and new kernel Cache is automatically generated

12/10-2011 Leon Extracted all plugin kexts from kextspacks so they can be loaded via the new method

12/10-2011 Leon Removed the backup method doLastConfigBackup(), using the new build method i do not see any reason to do backups

03/11-2011 Leon Updated the Chameleon theme to a new OSXLatitude theme

10/11-2011 Bronxteck fixed bug in option 7 in fixme.sh

16/11-2011 Leon Fixed build bug in fixme.sh when using GMAfix

16/11-2011 Leon Removed path.sh since its no longer used

17/11-2011 Leon Re-designed path system to include two new vars, $SLEPATH and $ROOTPATH, now EDP 2.x supports multipath again (means: you can install EDP onto another partition and use it there)

17/11-2011 Leon Updated "Hardware info" and "cWizzard" apps in storages/apps

    17/11-2011 Leon Updated Chameleon in storage/apps to 2.1 r1684

17/11-2011 Leon Added support for Dell Precision M4300 (Created by CRC)

17/11-2011 Leon Refactored rebuild.sh and fixme.sh and moved path generators to getPaths.sh

17/11-2011 Leon Added multipath support for GMA-fix script

17/11-2011 Leon Removed support for AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext, because its known to create KP in Lion, the kept is still in the package, but not active during build.

You will notice one major change in EDP 2.2: 0edp.kext. It is a new build method, which allows to use the variable "UserKernelCache=Yes" in your org.Chameleon.Boot.plist.

What does that mean? Well, all your specific kexts are copied into one kext (0edp.kext) which is then copied to your /System/Library/Extensions and from there on it is treated as Lions own kext. This speeds up the boot process considerably (this multi-kext is loaded as one of the first). Lion does not need to go trough all kexts and find out what configuration fits. Lion just knows. :)

I hope we covered all the bases. But, as you know, hackintoshing is not an exact science. We tested on all models available to us - and it worked nicely. But, like always, your mileage may vary.

    Have fun!

    Your OSXL Crew

  7. Hi, i installed successfully lion 10.7 + 10.7.2 on my D430 1,3 GhZ 2GB memoru 80GB HD intel GMA videocard laptop,

Most of the hardware is working but i need help with installing next for internal broadcom network card and an fix for my video card because i noticed that the brightness of my laptop screen is poor and needs to increased. Sound is working. other tips are more than welcome to..

    who can help me out??

    Try Wiki for Broadcom http://www.osxlatitu...irport-extreme/

For your brightness issue there is a fix in a current 2.x EDP, i think it is the option 8 in fixes (option 2 in ./edptool.command) , when you run the EDP tool.

    Hope this helps

  8. Thanks for the flowers! :) The Crew is doing their best to help, although sometimes we are running out of time (or even skills)

If you really think of writing down some of your experiences that would be of great value for the community! So, please do so. We all would appreciate it greatly!.

    Thanks!

  9. well, as they say: if it ain't broken - don't try to fix it. if everything works without bios password - don't apply it.

lower temps will extend the life of your computer - higher would hurt it. the lower - the better

  10. I am using Renice K3VLAR 120GB SSDwith native PATA controller. I did the replacement myself. And if I can anyone can.

It's probably not as fast as Leon's Runcore, but I paid it like $50 less then the one Leon is pointing to. And it works fine.

  11. I have two 16GB pens with 3 partitions on it: Boot, Live and Setup.

Boot is 100MB and contains Chameleon and EDP

Live is shy of 10GB and contains Lion live installation, working fine with my D430 (albeit slow like hell, but still working. It is a last ressort, if all other things fail)

Setup is 6GB and contains Lion installation media, which is tested and able to install Lion on my D430

I have no issues whatsoever to boot Chameleon, choose one of the two Lions and use them with my D430. My EDP config is just copied one from my D430, tested and working.

  12. Thanks Daniel!

nice to hear your rig is working fine.

With your d630 you are lucky. Some of us still need nullcpu and sleepenabler kexts to get the temps controlled and to have sleep in the same time. D430 has native speedstep but OS X still tends to overclock the CPU and increase the temps. Hence, we need nullcpu.kext to regulate this. But nullcpu disables the native sleep. So, we need sleepenabler. The world is not perfect. :)

  13. Hi All,

The 10.7.1 might render your sleepenabler useless, at least I had a KP after the upgrade. Several times.

Removed sleepenabler.kext out of /Extra/Extensions folder, run edptool choice 1 and rebuilt mkext out of existing configuration (I think it's option a).

Everything works, appart of sleep. We are looking into new version of sleepenabler which will fix this issue.

  14. Rich, did you use EDP tool to rebuild your configuration?

If so, most logical answer is that the edptool replaces your fixed DSDT with the standard one out of the ressource folder.

Just go into /Extra/Models/d630-Intel and replace the dsdt with the fixed one. That way, whenever you rebuild your configuration, the correct dsdt version will be used.

  15. AFAIK, your machine is defined by smbios.plist and you get one installing EDP. So, it is not the fakeSMC causing you seeing the wrong machine but the information in smbios.plist. It defines your machine as MacBook3,1. I think that's because this is the next best Apple definition for your D830. If you still want to have MacBook Pro, you need other smbios.plist or you need to change the one you have accordingly.

  16. Well, although it's not the most common way to solve d830 issues, if it works - great! Nice to see you made it.

Yes, RAM is the component which can only be replaced by more RAM. :) The more you have - the nicer.

However, look into VoodooHDA issue. I found out that version 2.2.1 will give me random KP's on Lion boot, like one in 4 or 5 boots.

I installed the one i've pointed you to and didn't see any issues with it. Also, I could get rid of Boom app, which was fixing the sound delay in SnoLeo (EDP delivers the SoundFlower app for the same purpose). It was a CPU hog, using 25% of the CPU time continuously. I don't know if sound lag is a no issue with Lion or if VoodooHDA was a culprit in SL, but all is good with VoodooHDA 2.7.1.

  17. It is weird to see that it is not working as it is on many other D830s- Try this version of VoodooHDA, it might solve your issues.

Replace the old version in /Extra/Extensions with this one

Run EDP tool and on the first screen choose option a - rebuild Extensions.mkext out of existing kexts in /Extra/Extensions folder

This will include the new VoodooHDA into your Extensions.mkext and repair permissions

    Reboot and cross the fingers.

  18. So, if i understood correctly, your d620 is running SL 10.6.0 with no issues?

OK, next step: go and download this 10.6.8 combo update.

Install Chameleon RC2 r1213 and be sure you have the latest EDP 1.9 installed.

After this is done - run the combo update. You will be asked to allow installation to reboot. Do so.

After your d620 is finished with installation it will reboot and you will find yourself running 10.6.8.

BTW: I don't know how and why you came into situation to use multifail. EDP gives you all you need to run OSX on your D620. And multifail is NOT part of the EDP. If you use our EDP and something weird happens, we usually are able to help. If you mix methods, even more and even weirder things could happen. And, since it is hard to say which method caused you trouble, it is a lot harder to help. So, try EDP first and only, it should do all you need to run 10.6.8.

  19. Well that solved the WiFi issue, now its fully functional actually I am having a feeling its working better then SL, as the youtube streaming in HD is not lagging at all, but now there is a new issue. I can hear the sound in iTunes but no sound when use browser to view Youtube. Any suggestions.

Go into Sound PrefPane and choose you internal speaker as output device. Again and again. Sometimes it needs time to accept. After that you should be fine.

  20. We are really sorry for the inconvenience but we are just refurbishing the place an moving a lot of stuff around.

Sometimes some things get lost in transition. But we are working on it - soon all be OK.

    Apologies again!
