  1. I am not sure if my E7240 is of any difference from all other users here.

I am not able to boot the USB installer created using Jake's detailed instruction. Hence, I am still unable to install Yosemite.

Mine is a E7240 i7-4600U FHD touch. Don't know if my machine is hardware or version different from those you have,

Are you sure you followed the guide right have you used the right kernel? for your cpu what version of yosemite are you installing? you need the right kernel when making the usb drive for the version of OS X yosemite you are using hope this helps pal.

  2. Well i lost sound again last night so I've took OS X off for now n
and gone back to windows .1 pro. But i want to use OS X has it ran perfect apart from the audio going of at random. It would even stay of on a few reboots then come back on. I do have a OS X usb sound card but don't want to carry that round with me lol

  3. No headphone audio at all mate. I ant botherd to be honest but i suppose we are fixing problems lol. I have installed the codecCommander from the tool also and audio works from sleep but lets see if its ok in a few days might be just luck lol.

  4. Well i used the generic usb kext from mackintosh vietnam tool and usb 3 and usb is working great even when plugged in on boot, My headphone jack doesn't work at all on the audio. wonder if the vietnam tool has a kext for our audio ?

  5. Cheers for reply i am using 10.10.2 latest yosemite and i think i have this kext installed if it said so in your guide but ill check. Also i have left the default smbios installed the macair 6.2 is this right has i have the i5 with hd4400 hd graphics?

  6. Well removing the kext stopped the panic but usb 3 doesn't work with the latest version of yosemite. I disabled the usb3 controller in the bios and it works on boot now in usb 2 mode i can live with this :). But if a fix comes out please inform us thanks your guide was great :)

  8. Hi all i followed the guide on this forum and made my usb stick i used the patched kernel. Now i can install yosemite fine but on the reboot i get the raid can't find kernel msg. So i boot using the usb installer and get into the desktop. Once I've fixed the uuid in terminal on the reboot i see my hdd fine now the raid msg has gone. I use -v -f but can't get back to the desktop no matter what flags i try.  latitude e7240 8gig of ram 128gigssd and i5 any ideas thanks.
