  1. Not work :(

If i use my own Extra folder from ML, or use yours, no picture in internal LCD and HDMI :(

Backlight working, audio and other things run in the background, but no screen...

    I change back to ML...

If i extract my DSDT and upload here, You please look at the difference between yours and mine?

    Thanks!

Have you tried just booting with -v -f ?

I had it happen once upon rebooting where the screens were black, but I could still control audio volume via the buttons on the laptop.  the mouse was the only thing that was showing... I rebooted with -v -f and it hasn't happened since...  not sure if this is the same problem you experienced or not, but It might help.

  2. Hi, would it be possible to get more details about that DW1510 rebranding? What needs to be done and how? What is the card reported as before and after rebranding? Preferably in a dedicated thread in R&D -> Network section.

it seems it may not be fully supported without such rebranding: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1617-mountain-lion-anyone/page-20

Here are a couple of pages I followed to get mine working:

    http://prasys.info/2009/12/rebranding-broadcom-802-11abgn-cards-as-airport/

The original how to here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121293-rebranding-broadcom-based-80211bgn-cards/?p=863983&do=findComment&comment=863983

    and:

http://legacy.tonycrapx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=28484 for my specific card the DW1510

Jake Lo might be able to give more info and maybe a tutorial on how to for the DW1510.

  3. Jake

I hadn't even noticed!  Since full sleep doesn't work yet on mine, its always plugged in.

but now that you mention it, I am looking into why the battery isn't showing up.

The DSDT I am using has been patched so that I can be connected to the Dell dock and have 1 DVI out from the dock.

Can you post the DSDT you are using?  I might try what you are doing, dropping the patched appleHDA and replacing with VoodooHDA

I did notice that the version of the AppleSmartBatteryManager I was using before (on the right) was a little out of date... I tried replacing it but still didn't get battery.  I am almost positive that it is my DSDT.

  4. I was able to successfully install OsX 10.9 DP1 on my Dell Latitude E6430 today.
I had a spare hard drive lying around, and thought, "why not?"
    post-4953-0-26848600-1371507140_thumb.jpg
If you have the same hardware as me here is how I got it working:

    DELL LATITUDE | E6430

Processor 2.89 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Graphics nVidia NVS 5200M 1024 MB / HD4000

WiFi replaced with a rebranded Dell DW1510 from eBay

Step 1:   Download the Mavericks OsX 10.9 DP1 .dmg and mount it
Step 2:   Download the latest myHack
Step 3:   Run myHack and install onto at least an 8gb flash drive, then replace the Extras folder with mine
Step 4:   Reboot, Hold F12 choose to boot from USB (I had the usb plugged into the left side port, if it matters...)
Step 5:   Boot the installer with flags -x -v
Step 6:   Format the drive you are installing it onto as GUID and name it "Macintosh HD"
Step 7:   Install, at the end it will ask if you want to remove "xxx" kext, say ok for the 3 .kexts
Step 7:   Choose to use the Extras folder on the USB drive that you copied in step 3
Step 8:   At the end, just click continue and then click the apple at the top right of the screen and choose restart
Step 9:   Hold F12 Again and choose to boot from USB.
Step 10: Boot from the myHack installer again, but this time only boot with -v
Step 11: Once you are back at the installer choose utilities --> myHack and run myFix on the partition you installed on.
Step 12: Once that finishes, go back into utilities --> myHack and this time install chameleon on the same partition.
Step 13: Reboot once more (you should be able to remove the USB key now and set your bios to boot from HDD)

    That should be it...

This is just how I got it working... there are most likely better ways of doing it...

    Hope it helps someone!

So far everything is working just as good as it was in 10.8.4  no glitches that I have found yet.

EDIT ---> Updated to DP2 and replaced the USB3 kext with this one that Jake suggested

Boot with -f or add it to your org.chameleon.Boot.plist file for best results

  5. So,  the upgrade to the wireless card was literally a snap.

The model I ordered cost like $8 and came in a week.

    Does anyone have bluetooth working?

Other than that,  mine is working like a champ.

    --Jeff

My model did not come with bluetooth so I don't know about that... however, I use this and it works perfectly:

Here it is on ebay as well:

  6. Hi!

I mixed up some DSDT, SSDT, chameleon plist, SMBIOS, and finaly get internal screen working after boot :)

    But!

Since the USB3 ports do not work :(

I use GenericUSB....kext, but dont work.

Can you not send a good ACPI kext and DSDT for me?

For usb3 delete / put in a folder:

    IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext &

    IOUSBFamily.kext

And use the one below instead:

    http://www.mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/GenericUSBXHCI.kext.zip

Here is the source I got it from: https://code.google.com/p/os-x-generic-usb3/downloads/list

Which works good for me and is smaller than the other one that is floating around the e6430 posts.

I am using a USB 3 to HDMI adaptor and it works great!

    See screenshot below:

    usb3video.jpg

Here is the link to the one I got:

    http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Multiple-2048x1152-1920x1200-DisplayLink/dp/B007L6NYAO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370878784&sr=8-1&keywords=plugable+usb+3+hdmi

And the USB 3 Display link driver for it for os x:

  7. Anybody have any ideas on getting full sleep?

I have tried suspending to disk only in terminal via:

    sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 1

but this made is so that as soon as I try to get out of sleep the computer just restarts and I have to do -v -x at boot, let it restart and then restart again to get the disk error to go away.

has anyone tried the sleepenabler.kext?  anyone have any luck?

*edit DON'T TRY TO INSTALL SLEEPENABLER.KEXT , It doesn't work.

It would really be nice to have full sleep now :)

I feel like this laptop is really coming together and becoming more and more compatible with osx by the day.

  8. DinEsHMG created a fixed DSDT.aml file to make the Dell docking station work for my computer :)

here is the link to the new DSDT.aml file for the Dell Latitude E6430 with the HD4000 and NVS 5200 http://mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/DockingStationWorkingNVS-5200-DinEsHMG-DSDT.aml.zip

here is a link to my full EXTRA folder:

    http://mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/Extra.zip

The docking station now works!  I will test it with both monitors tomorrow :)

    both DVI ports are working!

Consider donating to him for his awesome work via paypal as he really needs it for his life right now

    e_port_plus-1.jpgBoth DVI ports now working.
*edit, but only 1 at a time...

  9. Here are the Kexts I am using in my Extras/Extensions folder:

    IMG_0220.png

And here is a link to my extras folder if anyone has the same computer as me:

    http://www.mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/Extra.zip

Download, unzip, replace your extras folder with mine and run "myfix"

I figured out how to at least get my display to go black when the screen sleeps by editing the org.chameleon.Boot.plist like so:

    IMG_0221.png

Here is a link to download my org.chamelon.Boot.plist file:

    http://www.mastermindesigns.com/mastermindesigns/images/latitude-e6430/org.chamelon.Boot.plist

I believe what made it work was the "darkwake" Kernel flag :)

Can someone help with trying to get full sleep and the Dell Dock station working?  THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!

    Thanks!

  10. We have added this system to EDP also!<br /><br />Could be worth the try! :)

I have just tried installing EDP and was impressed so far, what a great idea!  I think it fixed a few problems I was having (I was using a wrong DSDT and SDT.aml or whatever), but it also messed my sound and trackpad and a few other things up as well.  I just had to put back the kexts I was using for my system from this page https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2327-dell-latitude-e6430/ that Jake Lo put together.

With Jake Lo's packages I was able to get everything working except sleep and HDMI out.

After installing EDP HDMI out works!  Actually, it works awesome!  See photos below :)

    IMG_0215.JPG

    IMG_0216.JPG

    IMG_0217.JPG

Screen sleep no longer works fine like it used to, it just goes to a white screen...

See photo below (furthest to the right)

IMG_0219.JPG,And full sleep crashes the system entirely and needs to be rebooted, so I set the computer to never sleep for now.  most of the time its plugged in anyways, but It would be great if someone could come up with a sleep solution by editing the DSDT.

I haven't tested the docking station yet, but will on monday... it most likely will need to be fixed by editing the DSDT as well, but who knows!

    Thanks!

  11. Good news!

Got USB 3.0 Superspeed working without system hang and no need to roll back to USB 2.0.

    Get file here.

    THANKS JAKE!

I will test this out later today!

And Thanks Leppy700m  I will look into fine tuning my DSDT and see what I can come up with, I don't have a whole lot of time either. :)

  12. I am wondering this as well...

leppy700m, it looks like we have pretty similar setups.

Have you figured out how to get sleep working?

I used the files from Jake Lo's tutorial and replaced my wifi card with the one he recomended and it works great.

I have a docking station, but I don't get any video out of the DVI ports.  the USB ports work I think... but I did have to roll back the kexts to the USB2 ones.

  13. Jake, Thank you for creating this tutorial, it worked great!  I am typing this from my Latitude E6430 now.  I have a slightly different version than you and so almost everything works.  The only thing not working for me right now is sleep, and possibly HDMI out (haven't tried it yet)  attached is a screen shot of my system.
