  1. Following the guide Latitude/Inspiron El Capitan I obtained a Dell E7450 BIOS A13 | i5-5300U 2.3 GHZ | 16GB LVDDR3 | Intel HD 5500, 1920x1080 I installed a Broadcom BCM94352Z M.2 | Intel 530 SSD(with hard drive bracket off eBay) I successfully patched DVMT using the provided offsets of 0x15b and 0x15c. Successfully resolved sound after sleep by setting "Reset HDA" in clover and using codeccommander.kext / EAPDFix.kext without any further tweaks to said kexts Resolved some powerd message spam in console by adding to FakeSMC Info.plist Clover dictionary <key>ACID</key> <array> <string>ch8*</string> <data>ut7DNVAFEGM=</data> </array> Resolved some basic issues with safari crashing due to el capitan changes in the way media streams embedded in flash content is handled by installing Perian. Resolved some graphical corruption issues by disabling shake mouse cursor to locate in Accessibility -> Display. What works: * Handoff, Facetime, Itunes, Ibooks, Appstore, iCloud, Webcam, Microphone, USB, USB3, Trackpoint and trackpad, Boot, Shutdown, and Sleep, Bluetooth and Ethernet. Graphics is detected as Intel HD Graphics 5500 1536 MB. SSD is detected with trim. System works nearly flawlessly, boots quickly, and runs smoothly. It still has some problems: * ssdPtrGEN.sh run and smbios.aml put in efi/clover/ACPI/patched, cpu is still detected as an i7. * System automatically goes to sleep whenever it is booted up, and has to be resumed from sleep before operation. - This issue also plagues the E6420 I configured using the same guide. * webcam does not work after system is manually put to sleep and resumed from sleep(i.e. it works after the bug sleep on boot but not after subsequent sleeps). * Cannot use custom EDID. System doesn't work right after I put it in. Graphics corruption/ not detected anymore. Do I need EDID for anything? Will it get colors more accurately? My EDID is here if anyone knows how to patch EDIDs and wants to give it a shot: 0x00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 4C 83 48 4C 00 00 00 00 0x10 00 17 01 04 95 1F 11 78 0A 36 25 93 56 55 93 29 0x20 1D 50 54 00 00 00 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 0x30 01 01 01 01 01 01 60 39 80 DC 70 38 40 40 30 20 0x40 25 00 35 AE 10 00 00 1A E7 2D 80 DC 70 38 40 40 0x50 30 20 25 00 35 AE 10 00 00 1A 00 00 00 FE 00 47 0x60 54 4B 44 59 80 31 34 30 48 4C 0A 20 00 00 00 00 0x70 00 00 41 21 94 00 10 00 00 02 01 0A 20 20 00 BA ---- The guide has an minor flaw: When I set up a USB drive for my E6420 I had to follow the installation media section of the guide. The guide does not clearly disambiguate that BaseSystem.dmg and BaseSystem.chunklist go at the root of the USB drive, not at the root of the Install OS X EL Capitan.dmg disk image on the drive.
  2. Has any one successfully installed El Capitan on a T410 or T410s? Any suggestions on how it might be done? Thank you, Chris
  3. Have any of you had any breakthroughs with getting audio to work again with either your E7440 or E5530 Dell Latitude hackintoshes following the 10.11.4 update? I found the thread below, but frankly I haven't been able to piece together specific steps that resulted in improvement: Link: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8491-dell-latitude-e5530-installation-working-approach/ I installed El Capitan via the following threads, with a LOT of help from the kind people who participate in this forum: E7440: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6461-guide-e7440-with-clover/ E5530: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8491-dell-latitude-e5530-installation-working-approach/ From what I've seen in other places, there are mentions of other HDA files to use, but my installation approaches didn't seem to involve that from what I recall. Any tips for measures I should take a run at? Thinking forward, if I can get something to work successfully, I can post a guide for others to follow that one day find themselves in the same spot I am in at present. Interestingly enough, I noticed that some people on Apple's own support forums mentioned issues with actual Apple-made computers following the 10.11.4 update, where they had been using USB audio devices which now are failing them.
  4. I just ran into the problem after updating my Hackintosh E6420 from 10.11.3 to 10.11.4. I updated by the dmg file from Apple server today. I am using Clover legacy bootloader. First, there is no audio after updated. Second, I can't boot into El Capitan without using boot parameters -v -cpus=1. If I boot without these parameters, there will be kernel panic and restart automatically. Have anyone experienced the same problem? Let's discuss.
  5. I followed the Dell Latitude El Capitan Clover Guide (fresh install of 10.11.4 with E7440 spec) - right after step 13 of Install OS X El Capitan, I got kernel panic and the syetem reboots. Screen shot attached. I have tried reinstalling three times just in case I missed some important step (and subsequently update my BIOS from A12 to A17). But I got the same kernel panic every time. My system spec: Latitude E7240, BIOS A17 i7-4600u 2.1GHz 8GB DDR3L Intel HD 4400, 1366x768 (non-touch) Intel AC7260+BT I tried using cpus=1 at the first installation, and it went on to complete the installation. But I had no sound (no output device), and the mouse pointer stopped responding to the touchpad, And I got a virtual drive mounted (seemed to be the mirror image) instead of the physical internal SSD. It feels like I am opening up another can of worms. So I abandoned that route. How can I fix this??? Update: Incorporating the fixes in 1 & 2 into bootpak solved the kp issue. Fresh installation was a straight through. Now running 10.11.4 on E7240. Some tweaks: powerd failure https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8922-solved-e7240-10114-fresh-install-boot-problem-kernel-panic/?p=59260 Cheers

    D630 - El Capitan

Hi all, I managed to have a Dell D630 nvidia working perfectly so far (it's new, so maybe some surprises ahead...). The only small thing I would like to fix is the power button that doesn't put the computer to sleep. The button is seen by Os X ! if I press Ctrl + Power Button, the restart-sleep-shutdown-disalog appears. Here's my ACPI ? Device (PWRB) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0C0C")) Name (_PRW, Package (0x02) { 0x17, 0x04 }) Method (_PSW, 1, NotSerialized) { PSW (Arg0, One) } } I tried to change _HID to _CID as I found on forums, but when I do that, the button doesn't wake the computer anymore. Thanks, Jief
  7. Friends'm installing OS X El Capitan, download the installer again, prepare the USB over and over again, tried many "boot flags" but during installation 16 minutes after me out this error: "An error occurred while extracting files from the package "Essentials.pkg" is no longer what else to do if anyone knows of this error please let me know how I can fix. Thank you I have a laptop Asus VivoBook S451LA-CA158H Asus Vivo Book S451LA-CA158H Display: 14 "screen (1366 x 768) Processor: Intel® Core ™ i5-4210U 1.7 GHz dual-core Memory: 4GB DDR3 Storage: 750GB HDD Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 4400 (onboard) I leave a screenshot of the error
  8. Hello! I have installed El Capitan in my E6420 following Jake Lo's "Dell Latitude / Inspiron El Capitan Clover Guide". (used E6220 bootpack). I still have to fine-tune installation but I have one doubt regarding Clover boot: Why I can only boot legacy? Even enabling UEFI in BIOS I can´t see UEFI boot entry after pressing F12.... My plans are to dual boot Windows 10, so partition must be GPT pure... Thx
  9. First off, thanks for providing this amazing resource ladies and gentlemen. It's much appreciated! I'm a long time Linux user and am taking my first step into installing OS X onto older hardware. I've run into some difficulty and am hoping for some pointers. I have a Dell E6420, A21 BIOS, i5-2540M CPU, 4GB RAM, Intel HD3000 graphics, 1600x900 Resolution, 250GB SSD. I followed the wonderful instructions in the following post using the E6220 boot pack: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8506-dell-latitude-inspiron-el-capitan-clover-guide/ However, I get stuck at one of two places: 1) With the stock + E6220 boot pack I get a kernel panic with message "pmLock: waited too long". 2) If I add NullCPUPM kext then I get a black screen that slowly turns all white. I did try to add DualLink into the Clover config. I've been trying different things from the forums, but with less success. I still have yet to see an installer screen. I do appreciate whatever time you can spare to help me get up to speed. I apologize If I'm missing something obvious, but this is all pretty new to me.
  10. First of all here are my system specs: Dell Latitude e6420 Intel Core i7 2720QM 16 GB RAM NVS 4200m I had mavericks installed with everything working using chameleon, the dsdt from here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/342-latitude-e6420-nvs-4200-dsdtaml/ kexts from here https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6192-guide-mavericks-on-dell-latitude-e6420/ and an ssdt from here https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/5943-dell-latitude-e6520-e6420-with-optimus-enabled-mavericks/ I had to switch to clover to do the upgrade, and it installed fine. The issue is that now it kernel panics when I try to boot it. Here is a picture I managed to grab before it turned off: Does anyone know what is wrong?
  11. I installed the El Capitan on a Dell N5010 with Clover. The problem is that I have a low resolution (also runs very laggy) and the video memory shows only 3mb. Some says that with Clover bootloader you can achieve QE/CI on the Mobility Radeon by setting "LoadVBios=Yes" but seems that didn't do trick. Is there anyway to fix this problem ? Card Name : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 (1 GB RAM)
  12. Just curious if any of the senior forum members have made a run at installing El Capitan on a Latitude E5530, and what the outcome had been. Did you try a clean install, or an upgrade to an existing working Yosemite instance?
  13. Hello All. Thanks to the Shared Knowledge I have manage to Installed El Capitan on my E5450 using Clover with the bootpack posted on previous. post https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8180-yosemite-on-e5450/page-3 I am still having issues with Graphics and Network: Graphics Issue: graphics are flickering like when it runs on save mode. I notice the following message on verbose mode: [iGPU] Graphics Driver failed to load could register with FrameBuffer. I guess Graphics driver is not loading when booting. Network Issue: Intel Wifi will have to be replaced but I notice that the wifi card it is smaller card than the BCM that I used for my M4600. Do you know which card should I buy? Ethernet is not being recognized at all I have attached my Original ACPI Files using F4 on Clover for possible patching help. Any Help is much appreciated... Happy Holidays to all. ACPI.E5450.CyberRedeem.zip
  14. I've a DELL Latitude E5530 with the specifications below : Processor Intel® Core i5-3340M CPU @ 2.70GHz Video Card Intel® HD Graphics 4000 * Memory 8.1 GB I just need to know if I can install an OSX Yosemite or El Capitan without any problems, also if there's any tutorials about that, I'm new to this forum I wishing to find some help, because I'm getting sick of Windows and I don't have much money to buy a Macbook with the same specifications. Thanks to every one
  15. I am unable to boot any version of OS X yosemite(10.10, 10.10.1,...) on my latitude e6410. I have tried both Chameleon and Clover and receive ACPI kernel panics. This is also affecting my El Capitan usb installer too. Here are some steps I have tried to resolve this issue and they have failed: Reset BIOS, Disable VT for Direct IO, Set HDD mode to AHCI. Change Bootloaders from Chameleon to Clover Place AppleACPIPlatform Kext inside Clover kext directory. Have removed AppleACPIPlatform from S/L/E Strangely this does not affect any distro's I have tried from booting into the installerl, but I would like to install using Patel's guide because the end result is much better than a distro. My system specs are: Dell Latitude E6410 i5-560M NVS 3100M 465GB HDD 6GB RAM BIOS A16 Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
  16. Here it goes. I upgraded Yosemite to El Capitan GM. I replaced EHCI with EHC1 in DSDT.aml as I read, but still no USB. Any thoughts?
