  1. Hello everyone, After the surprisingly huge success with El Capitan, I decided to give Sierra a try. This thread is dedicated to get at least the installer running on the Dell E6500. Thoughts, opinions and discussions are also very welcome. (1) Using dosdude1's Sierra Patch, the installer USB creation was a breeze. Without the patch, the installer won't even try to boot (incompatible Mac). http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html (2) Installer USB loads fine. (3) NVDAStartup causes kernel panic when trying to boot into the installer. nvda_drv=1 nv_disable=1 InjectNvidia=false does not work. I am not sure why but Nvidia still try to load the driver when nv_disable=1 is already present. I will post my DSDT.aml, config.plist and kexts later (still using the same ones from El Capitan). That is all for now. Any pointers and tips are highly encouraged. Thank you.

    ASUS G73JW

Hey guys, I've got this Beast (ASUS G73JW) laying around for the past 2 years and I don't want to really sell it off since it's been helping me out in my audio production over the years. I'd like to install OSx on it but really don't know why every time I time I try, I keep failing. I've tried NIRESH's....worked till the desktop but can't boot into the OS without the USB. Another thing is I get NO WIFI,AUDIO,GRAPHICS. Can anyone help out with a Step-by-Step guide on how to install on it. I'm trying to run LOGIC PRO as my main DAW after FL STUDIO. Cheers, MXPYNE
  6. I've managed to install El Capitan on my Latitude E5440. The only thing I've gotten to work so far is the ethernet. I tried looking at tutorials to get the Intel HD 4400 graphics to work but nothing was successful, only thing I did was make it display the name of my graphics in the about this mac window. And I've also tried pretty much every tutorial on this site for the E5440 and still nothing is working. Please help me.
  7. Friends'm installing OS X El Capitan, download the installer again, prepare the USB over and over again, tried many "boot flags" but during installation 16 minutes after me out this error: "An error occurred while extracting files from the package "Essentials.pkg" is no longer what else to do if anyone knows of this error please let me know how I can fix. 8. Hey All, Its been a while since I've been here, but I got OS X Yosemite Final/GM 3/ PB 4 running on the E6420 via the following means. Credits: @Jake Lo - DSDT patches for HDMI audio, Most of the boot pack actually. XD @Pokenguyen - teaching me clover, giving me a WIP guide that this guide is partially based on, A lot of help along the way, config.plist and many other things, the reason clover is working on the e6420 (: @Stork - Starting the research thread and figuring out the original stuff back on Lion (: @RehabMan @BpedMan @sontrg @Yeahoon and myself - Work on the VoodooPS2 Project for ALPS, its come a long way and is still in development here: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2545-new-touchpad-driver-for-e6520-alps/ @All - Debuging and helping out, without all of us, we wouldn’t be this far Myself - Patching a new version of SNBGraphicsFB for VGA/HDMI using telnax's method, writing the guide, patching the new RTC, editing VoodooHDA. None of the Wifi cards that shipped with our model are OS X compatible. Please order the one listed in my signature and replace using the guide created by Dell here. Other cards work, such as the one listed in Jake Lo's signature (He is all over the site, just look around). To Make Bootable Media (Pulled from here and here) 1. Download Install OS X Yosemite.app (Any version will do, i.e. DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, DP5, DP6, DP7 (preferred), etc.) 2. Right click on the installer > show package contents 3. Navigate to Contents/Shared Support and double click on the InstallESD.dmg, the .dmg should now mount and appear on your desktop 5. In the terminal issue the following command: open "/Volumes/OS X Install ESD/BaseSystem.dmg" 6. Now, open disk utility and restore your usb drive, NOT the drive, but the volume contained on the drive with the mounted "BaseSystem" NOT the .dmg. 7. Rename your usb drive to Yosemite. (not the dmg) You can tell which drive is the USB from the size. 8. Issue the following commands in terminal: cp "/Volumes/OS X Install ESD/BaseSystem.dmg" /Volumes/Yosemite/ cp -a "/Volumes/OS X Install ESD/BaseSystem.chunklist" /Volumes/Yosemite/ rm /Volumes/Yosemite/System/Installation/Packages cp -a /Volumes/OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages /Volumes/Yosemite/System/Installation/Packages 9. The last command may take some time, go get some food 10. Now install Clover to your USB drive. (download it from here) Selecting the options shown in the linked image: http://imgur.com/if2O3hQ 11. Unzip the flies provided in E6420Yosemite.zip 12. Move all the files in the unzipped /Clover folder to /EFI/EFI/Clover/, make sure to choose to MERGE these folders. Installing 1. Shut Down 2. Enter BIOS via tapping F2 during boot 3. Change SATA Operation to AHCI (Leave the Booting mode on Legacy! UEFI is not support/does not work.) 4. Click Save and reboot 5. Hit F12 as computer boots, select USB Drive 6. Select boot "Mac OS X from Yosemite" 7. If given a keyboard error, spam the spacebar 8. Use disk utility in the "Utilities" drop down menu to format your HDD to "Mac OS Extended Journaled" and make sure to click options and select GUID partition table, proceed with formatting 9. Follow installers prompts to install Post Install If running anything other than Yosemite Final/GM 3/PB 4 (You can update via the Mac App Store or via the delta installers found here. After installing these click restart, you will most likely end up having to hard reset (hold power button), then boot from USB, but this time select "Boot OS X from "Your Drive Name". 10.10.1 is SAFE to update. No changes at all for this release, just Mac App Store Update. 10.10.2 (14C68m) Beta is also safe, and graphical glitches actually went away for me after this update, wouldn't recommend the Beta to the Public of course though. For UEFI Mode: Although it works, it is somewhat buggy, because Dell left UEFI on our model Half-working. I really don't recommend this though. If you really want to use it, go ahead and select UEFI checkbook in the Clover installer and add the boot entry to your UEFI BIOS Selection "/EFI/CLOVER/CLOVERX64.efi" and boot it. For Legacy Mode: 1. Download and run the Clover installer once again from here, select the following things show in this image in the installer: http://imgur.com/ipc5mTq PLEASE also check the "Install Clover Preference Pane" checkbox 2. Download and install Clover Configurator from here 3. Open Clover Configurator (From now on referred to as "CC") and go to the EFI tab, click mount and enter your password. 4. Re-download the attached E6420Yosemite.zip and extract 5. Move the folder /Clover from the unzipped to your hard drives /EFI/EFI/Clover/ location, make sure to choose to MERGE these folders 6. Reboot 7. For Multitouch Gestures go to System Preferences ==> Keyboard ==> Shortcuts ==> Mission Control ==> Now chose the action you want (i.e. show dashboard) and click in the shortcut box, and do the gesture you want (it will show some weird keys, ignore it). 8. For Proper Keyboard, go to System Preferences ==> Keyboard ==> Modifier Keys ==> change Command Key to Option Key, and Option key to Command Key. 9. Run the script "Remove Problematic Extensions.sh" script (it will create a nice shortcut to /System/Library/Extensions/ called /s/l/e, it will also remove problematic kexts. To run this, extract the file, then right click the extracted file and choose "Open With" change from "Recommended Applications" to "All Applications" and select terminal, then enter your password. 10. Reboot Working Wifi (Athertos AR9281, recognized as native Airport Extreme oob, if you want one, the ebay auction is linked in my signature) Keyboard USB Bluetooth App Store and iMessage Screen Brightness Battery Percentage - Broken from DP5 onward. Display and Screen Resolution Audio buttons and audio control HDMI + Audio (Auto Detection works!) QE/CI Network Switch Docking Port eSata Free Fall Data Smart Card Reader Express Card Reader Most Multitouch Gestures (3 and 4 fingers work) Webcam VGA output (No Auto-detection) Find my Mac and iCloud Edit 1: Sleep and Deep Sleep!!! Edit 2: Use updated VoodooHDA for Volume Control! Edit 3: Hibernate! Use new DSDT/SSDT, Just invoke it via one of the thousands of scripts out there that hibernate your mac. Edit 4: UEFI Mode! Works via adding boot entry manually, and only works after most recent Clover Update. Partially Working SD Card - Voodoo SDHC is buggy, only works sometimes on our model and breaks sleep, still want it? Find it in the folder labeled VoodooSDHC and install via kext wizard, then reboot. Battery Percentage - No known kext works. System still reports battery to the low battery (>10%) to the blinking yellow light on the laptop. We will have to wait for AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext to be updated. Just keep trying it at every new release. The DSDT is patched for it when the kext works with 10.10. Not Working Nothing!!! 9. Hi guys! Im recently new to hackintoshing, one of my friends turned me to this website when i bought a used dell latitude and wanted to turn it into a hackintosh! Just a couple questions about how to do it, since i dont have much access to a mac, is it possible to create a boot installer with USB a different way? and If so could anyone recommend one to use. I read the fourm about how to install it, ive tried using Yosemite-Zones .dmg with no luck i cant get it to boot, and when i get it to the Apple loading screen with the progress bar it loads about halfway and then gets stuck. So i thought about making a new installer following the instructions on this webpage, it looked simple enough! Thanks guys, any comments are welcome!
  10. Hi, System specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ (Haswell) Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz HDD: SATA: 1,5TB 5400RPM (1Empty SATA and 1 Empty SSD slot.) Kexts injected by clover: Battery management works with Rehabman's ACPIBatterymanagement.kext and the default DSDT, no edits needed. Touchpad works with Rehabman's VoodooPS2Controller.kext. 12. Hello I have successfully installed mac os x 10.8.1 (Update:Now Running 10.8.3 10.8.4) to my laptop but you need to follow my guide to get installing and mostly fully working and if you are smarter and have more knowledge than me, I welcome you to help me getting it fully working to be macbook killer lets get started. 1- you must have bios version 1.07 or lower(because newer version selecting switchable or integrated graphics option removed ). if it happen and you have newer version just download 1.07 and install it and it will downgrade without any problem . 2- make sure to select integreated graphics from bios 3- make bootable USB using this guide(myhack) 4-download my DSDT+SSDT+boot.plist+smbios from attachments. and special thanks to EMlyDinEsH for making DSDT and SSDT for me along with many patched kexts- Dont have DSDT ? click here 5-put it in myhack OS X installer in extra folder 6-tocuhpad driver still in development - I used beta elan tocuhpad v4 kext to get touchpad working during installation - downlaod it from here , touchpad driver is out ! 7- replace kext with the attached one to S/L/E = System/library/extensions and remove nullcpupowermanagement.kext 8- Use legacy USB support from multifail to get blue USB 3.0 ports working with normal USB 3.0 speed, this is the only way worked for me. OR Go to /System/Library/Extensions and right click on IOUSBFAMILY.kext and select Show Package Contents then go to Contents -> Plugins and delete AppleUSBXHCI.kext you will get camera and blue usb 3.0 port to work togethor using this method New= 9-install IONetworking kext for Ethernet and fixing appstore install error that's it install mac and then install updates to 10.8.1 you may get errors during installation but that fine . installing 10.8.2 gave me too much error and panics so that's why I use 10.8.1 Install 10.8.3 combo install 10.8.4 comob and after finish replace only this kext(AppleACPIPlatform.kext) from 10.8.1 or use my kext from the attachment. + Install patched AppleHDA . Also added new DSDT with HDMI working with new boot.plist And dont forgot to donate for EMlyDinEsH CONTACT HIM AT HIS EMAIL: [email protected] some pictures: buy one from ebay sorry for bad English- its not my mother language Also I need some guy from the crew to add my files to EDP. I tried so many times but submit button not working, My EDP files now included check them here patched kexts.zip Extra file with DSDT and boot.plist for HDMI .zip AppleACPIPlatform.kext.zip IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip
  13. Hello OSXLatitude forumers, I almost hackintosh a Dell Latitude D630 Here are my installation method : 1: Make the USB installer by using MLPostfactor and Mountain Lion App 10.8.3 2: Install bootloader to the USB installer 3: Take kext from bootpack provided here and replaced it with the default in the installer 4: Change SATA from ATA to AHCI 5: Boot with the bootflag -v 6: Successfully booted, directly go to Disk Utility and format my HDD 7: Go to installation, selected the drive, and the install process begin 8: Freeze at 19 minutes left! I have done this process many time. When install, it WILL freeze at 19minutes left. I left the laptop for 8 hourse, still hang. What should i do? Also, usually I can move the cursor. But when it freeze, I cant move the cursor and the progressbar of the installation didnt move at all. Stuck forever What the fix guys?
  14. Hi, I've succesfully installed mavericks on my dell 3521 using Myhack but i've noticed some problems after fine-tuning with the edp app. First of all, the patched appleintelcpupowermanagemet.kext that gets installed to get my powermanagement working, gives me a kernel panic after rebooting. I fixed this by downloading a patched version from the niresh website. After using their patch i could boot and everything works good now. my second problem is that when i boot my hackintosh with -v, it hangs for a long time at "ioapic version 0x20 vectors 64 87". How can i fix this ? I know it doesn't seem to be an error but it takes damn long to boot when it always stops there. And last but not least, i found out that my laptop is using the realtek alc282 audio chipset but the edp recommends to install a version of voodoohda... I tested it by removing voodoohda and patching my applehda using the hackintosh vietnam tool and got my my audio to work out of the box. What would be the best to be using ? voodoohda or a patched applehda ? Thanks.
  15. Hello everyone, I did a standard myhack installation on my dell latitude e6400. I got through the installation fine, and I am able to boot in safe mode. However, I cannot boot without -x, so I am wondering what kexts I have to delete or install, or what boot flags I may have to put. Also, when I boot in safe mode, my graphics are stuck at a low resolution, so what kext do I need to install for graphics on the dell latitude e6400. I have intel gm45 graphics (that's what it says in about this Mac and bios.) I would much appreciate help. I used this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6123-dell-latitude-e6400-mavericks-installation/
  16. Greetz This is (hopefully) an easy, step-by-step tutorial for installing OSX10.9 (and other Operating Systems) on your M6300. <UPDATE: I was able to update to 10.9.3 just fine after this installation.> There’s not too much original information here, as it’s all been regurgitated from borrowed ideas in other posts and advice in forums everywhere. A special THANK YOU to Sergeant for his advice and files that got me started on the right path for this! Note: The attachments are a PDF with the step-by-step instructions and the files necessary to add to your OSX Installation Boot USB. Post Install 1: I followed the advice in another post here about the running myHack's myFix to fix the sleep issue. My PC does wake up, but sadly my screen remains black ... However, a nice "side-effect" from running myFix is that my internal WiFi is now working! Yay! Post Install 2: I've just updated this to 10.9.3 and then immediately (before the reboot) ran myHack's myFix (full). Everything booted up happy happy. 17. Hey all, By now many OSX users have updated to 10.9.2, and it brings awesome new functionality, such as Face Time audio. But many users (Mac and Hackintosh) have noticed that iSight and Webcams are not working. This also fixes the VDCAssistant crash error. The simple fix is to uninstall any 3rd Party video driver. This is being fixed in 10.9.3 betas, but for now... A list of conflicting drivers; - DisplayLink software - AirParrot - Air Display - iDisplay - Splashtop virtual display driver - ScreenRecycler - All programs that create a virtual screen To fix your iSight, delete the program, and its related kexts from /S/L/E/ and or /E/E/. If you know what kexts the program installs, just google "yourprogram uninstall mac" If you find a conflicting program, feel free to post it up and I will add it to the list!
  18. Hi everyone, I'm trying to install Mac OSX Mavericks on an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5450, Graphics by NVIDIA GeForce 8600m GT). The first time I was attempting a boot in verbose mode, I got the "Configuration end, bridge x device 19" error. As the boot flags "npci=0x2000" and "npci=0x3000" weren't effective, I added IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleAPCIPlatform.kext in the Extra folder, which made the installation hang at "Configuration Begin". So I made a copy of IOPCIFamily.kext in the S/L/E folder, which corrected the error but gave me the "DSMOS has arrived" error. Now I tried to replace FakeSMC.kext with a new one, and I copied it into the S/L/E folder. I also deleted all graphic kext : AppleIntelHD*.kext, AppleIntelSNB*.kext, AMDRadeon*.kext, ATI*.kext, GeForce*.kext and NVDA*.kext, which didn't change anything. Of course I tried to boot with the "GraphicsEnabler=No" and the "-x" boot flags. One more thing, before the "DSMOS has arrived" line shows up, I noticed the following errors : "BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist : 2 No such file or directory", "SuperIODevice : [Fatal] found unsupported ship ITE sequence ID=0xfc11, Winbond sequence ID=0xffff" Any idea on how to fix it ? Thanks for your time.

Open Disk Utility and create a single partition usb drive .{Mac Os Journaled} Do I select the GUID or the MBR option ?? 4. Open MyHack and follow the EDP documentation. Include Nvidia D830 Bootpack 5. Replace Wifi card of the D830 with DW 1390{Broadcom 4311} 6. Do I go to the BIOS of the computer and enable AHCI ?? 7. Plug in the Myhack flashdrive with usb mouse and keyboard at the ready just in case. 8. Enter -v {verbose mode} and let it run it's course ===================================================================== If Language Selection appears ===================================================================== 9. Fill in the blanks. 10. Install E.D.P 11. Select Config and build from d830 database. Is that how I should go about doing it ?

  22. Hello everyone, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (N5050) with i3 processor. It has IDT 92HD87B1 sound card which probably can be used with VoodooHDA. I would like to run Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9. I am also fine with Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4 or 10.8.5. It has an Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card. I need the WIndows preinstalled on this machine. Will it work with MBR partition? Thanks vgupta
  23. I have an ASUS X55A laptop. I would like to run Mavericks, but I'll settle for Mountain Lion if necessary. I just can't find the proper DSDT for my PC. I've been trying with different kext configurations all week, but I just can't get it right. Does anybody know where to find it, or anybody feel like making one? I'm working on it, but this would be my first time and I'm sure I won't do it right. Any help is appreciated.
  24. Hello everyone. First off I'd like to say that I am pretty much a complete noob. I know basic things, I try basic troubleshooting, but I have no idea about what to do when something goes wrong when installing a hackintosh. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (3521) and I want to hackintosh it. I want to use the iFail ML2 distro, because even though my computer supports UEFI, I don't think ML3U will work. I have installed ML2 into a virtual box environment before, but that's the closest I can get. I've tried creating bootable USB's with transmac on Windows, but they do not work when I try and boot into it. My Dell just shows a black screen, I have no idea what's wrong. I think it MAY be because the bios are locked, but I am unsure. I have seen posts of people hackintoshing this laptop, and the only main problem is a dysfunctional WiFi card. Could I please get some help? Any kind of directions where to go? I have no idea what a DSDT is, it's all almost foreign language to me. But I really, really, really want to install Mountain Lion.
  25. Hi all, I have a Dell Inspiron E6220 (infact two-I'm only trying to install on one though), which are both: Intel Core i5 2520 2.5GHZ CPU 4GB Ram Seagate Momentus Thin 7200RPM 250GB HDD Intel HD Graphics I have two USBs: a unifail 10.8, and a myHack 10.8, both with the OSX ML from the Mac App Store (on a Mac). When I try to boot up the install, it goes to the Apple screen, the spinning wheel, and then freezes on the spinning wheel and doesn't do anything. This is the same for both USBs (and both laptops). I read somewhere that someone was only able to boot with -f, I tried this on the myHack USB and it still didn't work, but when I tried the unifail, it did work. I was able to get everything ready for installation, and start the installation, until about halfway through the installation the screen just turns full white, with a small grey box. I am pretty sure that the computer completes the installation, and then it reboots back to the unifail USB (I'm not sure about this). Picture of screen: http://puu.sh/4otRE.jpg The computer reboots, and then comes back to the unifail screen on the USB. So now I try to get into the Macintosh HD, and no luck. I try with -f on both USBs and still no luck (it freezes on spinning wheel again). How can I fix this? Some errors near the end I can see: (in -v boot Verbose mode) Bootcachecontrol: Unable to open /var/db/Bootcache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory Bootcachecontrol: Unable to open /var/db/Bootcaches/PreheatedUser/Merged.playlist: 2 No such file or directory Bootcachecontrol: Unable to open /var/db/Bootcaches/PreheatedUser/Login.playlist: 2 No such file or directory Gets stuck on: AppleIntelE1000e: Ethernet address 24:b6:restofaddress Thanks
