  1. Hi, I was trying to install Mavericks 10.9.0 in my Dell Inspiron 5520 but I am facing the same issue even after changing boot flags. I have used -v -f GraphicsEnabler=No Here is my PC configuration Intel Core i5 processor (i5-3210 M CPU 2.50GHz) 4GB RAM Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7670M video card Each time I am facing same error ...(attached in the image) Please somebody help me, I am stuck on this for long but no success... Thanks in advance
  2. Hello everyone, I just installed OS X Mavericks on my latitude e6400 with myhack. I tried to install a graphics kext for my intel gm45 graphics, and in the guide, it told me to replace my boot.plist. I replaced it with the one provided, but when I rebooted, it said that it was late by xxxxx seconds, and I had to use forcewake=Y to override. I entered in this boot flag, but after a second, my computer just restarted and came back to the charms lion boot screen. I don't have access to a Mac anymore to create an installer to reinstall, so what should I do? Thank you in advance! Latitude e6400 specs: 2.27GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB RAM Intel GM45 Graphics BIOS VERSION A34
  3. I have the Optiplex 760 USFF and have it set up with myHack and Mavericks 10.9.3. The only two issues are this: No sound have installed Vodoo HDA. 4. Hey guys, Recently I've got problem with my Mavericks 10.9 - it seems that I can't change brightness with controls Fn + Home/End, neither with System Preferences. I can change brightness of my screen only during boot. Any ideas to solve this problem? Thanks
  5. Hi all, First of all thanks Jake Lo for the great guide ! I installed following your guide https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/5641-dell-latitude-e6430-e6230-intel-mavericks/ My system is Dell E6530, i7-3540, HD4000, 1920x1080 My current version is Mavericks 10.9.3, I upgraded from 10.9.2 My problem is that I do not have sound working at all and I am using the latest AppleHDA you provided, Apple HDA provided for 10.9.2 also doesn't work (it didn't for 10.9.2 either) These are the lines containing AppleHDA from system.log Jun 15 12:03:06 Cristians-MacBook-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[12]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/myHack.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAController.kext" Jun 15 12:03:06 Cristians-MacBook-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[12]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/myHack.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDA.kext" Jun 15 12:03:07 Cristians-MacBook-Pro.local com.apple.kextd[12]: WARNING - Invalid signature -67030 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA2A for kext "/System/Library/Extensions/myHack.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext" Jun 15 12:03:08 Cristians-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1535 Jun 15 12:03:08 Cristians-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 2205 Jun 15 12:03:08 Cristians-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 207 Jun 15 12:03:08 Cristians-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDADriver at line 1094 I assume the first 3 warnings are ok but the next lines are not Any help is greatly appreciated ! 6. Two problems: Wireless Cannot Find Networks I installed an Atheros AR5BHB112 as recommended on the supported/unsupported card thread. It is detected but cannot find wireless networks. I tried to manually enter my wireless network information, but it could not find it/connect in either clear or WEP modes. My SSID is not hidden. lspci -nn returns: 03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9300 Wireless LAN adaptor [168c:0030] (rev 01) I've tried running MyFix quick and full and have rebooted several times with no success. The old Dell card had two antenna hookups for ch 1 and 2; I attached those to ch 1 and 2 on the Atheros card. There was a third cable that was unused; I attached that to ch 0 on the Atheros card. Is this where I went wrong? Keyboard Layout Is Not Saved I use a Japanese keyboard layout. When I reboot, the computer reverts to a US layout and I have to go to Keyboard Settings to redetect it. Is there a way to permanently set it to a Japanese layout?
  7. First post, long time wannabe hackintosher. Recently I've picked up a Samsung NP900X4D-A03CA laptop, which looks promisingly similar to the NP900X4C/X3C models. i5-3317U and similar (if not same?) BIOS's. First, I'd like to take time in advance to thank anyone willing to lend a hand Second, I've done a hackintosh install before using Hazard's Intel/AMD SSE2/3 distrobution, and although it wasn't pretty, I managed to hack away at it until it was fully functioning on an AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor. Fun times. Third, I'm definitely willing to provide logs, DSDT's, SSDT's, etc, etc. with a little guidance. No, there's not a working anything installation as I'm trying to make this soley an OSX machine, but I can definitely hop into a bootable Linux distribution of anyone's choosing should it assist us in pulling DSDT's or other ACPI data from the mobo. So, without further ado, here's the specs: Problem I've having is getting it to boot without the black screen Intel HD4000 problem. Here's what I've tried so far: Originally I started with Niresh's 10.9.2 customized ISO meant for both Intel and AMD systems, and it worked OK for the installation part. No boot flags required immediately from the get go, just pop the DVD into my external USB DVD Drive, USB 2 or 3 port works fine, boot up, install with default options. The problem is upon reboot, it hangs unless I use the GraphicsEnabler=No flag, and then it doesn't hang, but gets stuck at a black screen, probably trying to display over the micro-HDMI port. (I have ordered a micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter to help troubleshoot this.) I went back at least 8 times, selecting different SMBIOS.plist files, none of which helped in any way, and eventually booted into single user mode -s and was able to run their grafix backup all script to clean all the Intel kext files out. After that, I managed to get it to boot and login, although I had to do so as root because it skipped the initial setup screen...? Anywho, since then I attempted to use EDP, which failed because of other kexts already loaded from Niresh's, so I figured as I have a half-baked install, why not use it to download legit Mavericks and run myHack? Plug in USB for formatting, kernel panic! Needless to say, I ended up creating a myHack USB Installer at work on their Mac's, and used the NP900X4C compatibility pack from OSXLatitude, including your handy guide. Problem there is the installer would also boot to a black screen unless I used -x safe mode flag. (Yes, I did try the GraphicsEnabler=No/Yes and the IGPEnabler=No/Yes flags just for the giggles, neither of which helped.) I went ahead and installed it from -x safe mode flag boot, and selected the "/Extra" Kexts folder bootpack for the NP900X4C but upon reboot, it would start up, seem normal in verbose mode (no abnormal errors) until Mr. DSMOS arrives which is when it finishes booting and bingo bango! Black Screen. I have also tried the IGPlatformId=xxxxxxxx and IGPEnabler=Yes flags, they're not seeming to do anything different. I seem to be in the same pickle as this guy's thread and would love any assistance or insight's into my sillyness. According to the information @Stanislav was able to provide, the Samsung 900X3C/900X3D/900X4C/900X4D models all share the same motherboard, so technically speaking they should all be able to use the same bookpack or DSDT files, yes? (assuming the processors are all i5-3317U's as well) Anywho, I'll await patiently and see if we get anywhere, and do have Mac's at work I can use to keep making hackintosh installation USB's. Many thanks, Erik
  8. At first, since this is my first post here, big congrats for your effort. Really made me install OSX Mavericks (10.9.1) on my E6530. I have followed the instructions here provided by Jake Lo (thanks for that; really made it quite easy). Compared to his system, I have a different version of BIOS (A13) than the one in the guide (A12). Should I reinstalled the earlier version (if this is possible)? Now, with the issues I am facing: 1. I can hear the noise of the fan working all the time. Of course it is not that loud, but is this really what I should expect? 2. I am using the Extra_Mav.zip folder in my system, as it is in the archive. The only change I made in the boot.plist was to add a Timeout of 2 seconds. Should I do anything else? (Again, my system is identical to the guide, except the BIOS version). 3. The laptop now is always quite hot, on the left side. Power management is really working? The Activity Monitor shows that the CPU is over 80% idle most of the time, but still laptop gets quite hot, so most possibly PM is indeed working. Maybe it is because of the nVidia card, which is all the time enabled? 4. Should I update to 10.9.2? Based on my experience, with SL 10.6 some time ago, I should install the delta or combo update, reinstall Chameleon and I should be good to go (or maybe troubleshoot some stuff, but I should be able to login again to OSX). Whenever you have time! Cheers! Christos
  9. Hi everyone ! I have a strange problem. I've just installed 10.9 on my AMD Athlon 64 x2 2.0 Ghz 2 GB DDR2 RAM. I have 2 SATA drives, one of 80 GB for OS X and another one of 500 GB for Windows 8.1 / Data. Everythings works fine but for an unknown reason, sometimes the second 500 GB drive suddendly disappear from my desktop saying Ejecting Error, try to disconnect the drive by…etc, just as if it was an USB external drive. System Profiler detects it as a SATA drive, the icons aren't yellow, there's just like any normal drive and most of time, I can read/write on them without problems. I did a Time Machine backup without issues. First I thought that it was a Kext conflict between SuperVIAATA.kext and IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext or AHCI_3rdPartySata.kext but I tried to remove the two last of them and be able to boot fine (Removing SuperVIAATA.kext result as "still waiting for root device"). But the problem persist and I can't figure why ! The drive works fine on Windows and shows no errors, SMART state is reported as capable and OK and the 80 GB hosting OS X works fine as well. My desktop is a HP dc5750 with the latest BIOS (configure in Native IDE mode - no AHCI available) and beside this very anoying problem under OS X, it works fine. Any ideas ?
  10. Hey all, By now many OSX users have updated to 10.9.2, and it brings awesome new functionality, such as Face Time audio. But many users (Mac and Hackintosh) have noticed that iSight and Webcams are not working. This also fixes the VDCAssistant crash error. The simple fix is to uninstall any 3rd Party video driver. This is being fixed in 10.9.3 betas, but for now... A list of conflicting drivers; - DisplayLink software - AirParrot - Air Display - iDisplay - Splashtop virtual display driver - ScreenRecycler - All programs that create a virtual screen To fix your iSight, delete the program, and its related kexts from /S/L/E/ and or /E/E/. If you know what kexts the program installs, just google "yourprogram uninstall mac" If you find a conflicting program, feel free to post it up and I will add it to the list!

  12. Hi everyone, I'm trying to install Mac OSX Mavericks on an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5450, Graphics by NVIDIA GeForce 8600m GT). The first time I was attempting a boot in verbose mode, I got the "Configuration end, bridge x device 19" error. As the boot flags "npci=0x2000" and "npci=0x3000" weren't effective, I added IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleAPCIPlatform.kext in the Extra folder, which made the installation hang at "Configuration Begin". So I made a copy of IOPCIFamily.kext in the S/L/E folder, which corrected the error but gave me the "DSMOS has arrived" error. Now I tried to replace FakeSMC.kext with a new one, and I copied it into the S/L/E folder. I also deleted all graphic kext : AppleIntelHD*.kext, AppleIntelSNB*.kext, AMDRadeon*.kext, ATI*.kext, GeForce*.kext and NVDA*.kext, which didn't change anything. Of course I tried to boot with the "GraphicsEnabler=No" and the "-x" boot flags. One more thing, before the "DSMOS has arrived" line shows up, I noticed the following errors : "BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist : 2 No such file or directory", "SuperIODevice : [Fatal] found unsupported ship ITE sequence ID=0xfc11, Winbond sequence ID=0xffff" Any idea on how to fix it ? Thanks for your time.
  13. Hi everyone, Got a new D830 but I'm facing multiples issues to get the setup works. It's a sandard Dell D830 Nvidia Quadro NVS 135M serie with Core2Duo T7250 2Go RAM. BUT : The LCD is dead so I've remove it and it's now connected to an external LCD Scrren via VGA outpout AND : No internal Drive, so I use an external USB disk with 1 MBR partition for Windows 8.1 and 1 MBR partition for Mavericks HFS+ journalised. AHCI support (useless in my case) is enabled and the BIOS settings are those given by your Install Guide for D830 systems. I first tried to create an USB install pen with MyHack 3.3.1 but it's stucked at Bluetooth Missing Controller etc… I tried to skip the MBR patch and do it later using InsanelyMac method and I also tried a lots of Boot flags, but no changes. So I create another one with Pandora's box and I can boot fine and install Mavericks. I've noticed that the installer doesn't create a boot file and there's no Extra folder too. Hopefully, because it's just an USB disk I've just plug it in another Mac and did it manually (using MyHack to install the D830 mav bootpack Extra folder). So I can boot and configure the system. But I tried to use EDP post install tool to enable QE/CI on my setup and it just fails. Natit is installed but there's no QE/CI. I've tried to download a fresh Natit kext from OSX86.net (which is strangely 7Mb where the EDP one is about 77 Ko) but it's still the same. I know it's an unusual type of configuration but it should works. Any ideas ? Thanks
  14. Hi! Im using 10.9.2 (installed with myHack on custom pc) and i'd like to ask a question about the Launchad. I know if i press the control key on the keyboard, the icons in the Launchpad are begin to tremble, and appears a cross to remove the icon. Well i have not this cross. The icons are shaking, but i can't remove any icon. Yes there are several program to remove the icons or groups, but i would be happy if i can use the system's feature for this. Example Thanks!

  16. Hi there guys, Just used the tutorial seen here and followed it exactly, and after replacing the wireless card with an older mini-PCI Apple Airport card I've got a pretty stable 10.9.1 fully working... Except for the sleeping and waking on the lid closing and opening, while I can still manually put it to sleep with the function key shortcut, closing the laptop will result in it functioning as it normally would. Another side note I'm also having an issue with the built-in Webcam & Mic not being picked up at all by Mavericks, which I'll admit isn't the end of the world but if I could get it working along with the sleep and wake on lid this setup would be perfect. Thank you guys so much in advance for all the pre-existing resources, and for any tips you might have on helping me out here.
  17. Intel Core 2 Duo T7700, 2.40GHz - 15.4 inch Wide Screen WUXGA LCD - [uPGRADED] 4GB RAM - Video card: 256MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M - [uPGRADED]160GB 7200rpm Hard Drive - [uPGRADED] 9-cell battery and AC Adapter - 8X DVD+/-RW - Intel 4965 WLAN (802.11a/g/n) - Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 - Standard Modem 56K - 3 USB Ports - 1 Firewire IEEE 1394 - 1 SD Multicard Reader - 1 Headphones Jack - 1 Microphone Jack - 1 Analog External Display VGA Port So as stated above, those are the specs. I though I'd list out the steps that on how I would plan to go about installing Mavericks on this beast. Please and pretty please correct me If I missed out on anything and what I should be aware off. 1. Download Mavericks 10.9 off of mac store. 2. Download and install MyHack 3. Open Disk Utility and create a single partition usb drive .{Mac Os Journaled} Do I select the GUID or the MBR option ?? 4. Open MyHack and follow the EDP documentation. Include Nvidia D830 Bootpack 5. Replace Wifi card of the D830 with DW 1390{Broadcom 4311} 6. Do I go to the BIOS of the computer and enable AHCI ?? 7. Plug in the Myhack flashdrive with usb mouse and keyboard at the ready just in case. 8. Enter -v {verbose mode} and let it run it's course ===================================================================== If Language Selection appears ===================================================================== 9. Fill in the blanks. 10. Install E.D.P 11. Select Config and build from d830 database. Is that how I should go about doing it ?
  18. -----EDIT----- Using generic /Extra folder on MyHack, here's what works and doesn't. Will upload entire package once everything's fixed. Updated output of lspci -nn (trimmed this time). Notice it recogizes the ATI card for what it actually is actually, it recognizes everything, but still no sound Works: Just about everything not listed below, that I can think of. Give me ideas of what to test. Ethernet (using hnak's AppleIntelE100e v2.4.14 kext) Light sleep App Store/iMessage/iTunes login (with instructions from here) Does Not Work: Integrated Sound HDMI sound Deep Sleep Untested: ? Send me things to test? -----END EDIT----- Ok, so low and behold, I got the help of a few people on this site and WOW I finally got Mavericks on my Latitude E5420. So, I'm hoping the fine people of OSXL can help me with another computer. My Dell Optiplex 960. I installed it via iFail method, but there are several things that don't work (sound, especially through HDMI on my AMD Radeon HD 6670, and Apple Store login, to be specific). Specs (via lspci): Additionally, any advice on building a boot pack by myself would be greatly appreciated. I don't really know how to even begin wading through all the /E files that it requires....
  19. This is for the model E6420 with the Intel 3000 Graphics Card, could someone who uses the Nvidia version please post their findings on it. Thank you all. (Optional) Install alternative Wifi Card if you have Intel card 2. On a Mac or Hackintosh, download Mavericks from the Mac App Store, DO NOT INSTALL!!! 3. Extract the E6420.zip onto the desktop 4. Download the most recent MyHack and open and drag it to Applications, enter your sudo password, select “Create OS X 5. Installerâ€, then choose “Create OS X 10.9 Install Diskâ€, choose the USB drive you wish to use. 6. Rerun myHack and choose install extra, choose Extra, wait for all processes to finish 7. Reopen myHack and run myFix (quick) on your usb drive. 8. Push F2 during BIOS to enter setup, change SATA to AHCI, change fast boot to on, enable USB boot, apply and exit 9. Plug in your MyHack USB and push F12 at BIOS and select USB 10. Click continue on the first screen then Utilities ==> Disk Utility ==> Pick the highest level of your Hard Disk and got to the “Erase†tab and choose “Mac OS X Extended Journaled†and click “options†and select “Guid Partition Table†then click erase 11. To get iCloud and Find my Mac working, download recoveryhd updater from osx86 (can't post link due to their download limits) and run it, reboot, check the icloud check boxes in system prefs. I will let you decide here... you can either have SD card functionality or Deep Sleep (normal sleep works either way), due to a conflict with the VoodooSDHC.kext in the attached extra folder, to get SD card reader working, just copy attached VoodooSDHC.kext to /Extra/Extensions and run myFix (quick) Congrats! Not Working Finger Print Reader (No clue how to fix… help would be appreciated) Headphone Jack (Temporary due to 10.9.2 breaking AppleHDA patches, will be fixed soon) This was caused on my model by a loose screw above the hard drive screws. 20. What would I have to provide to get a supported EDP profile for the Latitude E5420? I have a working OS X 10.9 install going. Only thing not stock is the WiFi card (I have Dell Dw 1510 AGN Half Bcm4322).
  21. I have the Asus G75vw with the nvidia 670m graphics card. It works fine it ml with the open cl > 2gb patch and graphicsenabler=yes but in mavericks, whenever I attempt to play any flash videos or videos with quicktime, my computer completely freezes and the only thing that responds is the mouse (but it can't click anything). Any ideas to what's up with mavericks?
  22. Ok, so thanks to this post I was actually able to get OS X to boot on the 5420. Thank Bob for that. I got the /Extra folder and the corrected DSDT.aml for the 1366 x 768 resolution. Then, I had an issue with the Installer wanting me to connect a bluetooth keyboard (prior to selecting the language), even though the built-in keyboard works (on Chameleon, anyway). Well, I disabled bluetooth in the BIOS, and it stopped doing that. However, after selecting the language, installer crashes and gives an error log. I managed to save it. It is attached. At this point, I'm lost. I dont know how to read Mac logs. I've become accustomed to Linux (minorly) but I'm primarily used Windows my whole life. I DO have OS X 10.9 on a Dell Optiplex 960, and it works good (installed using directions from http://tonycrapx86.org using his unifail installation method. Guess what, that doesn't work on these KP's out the wazoo). I've used both AHCI and ATA hard drive modes (neither had an effect on the outcome, either way). I dont know if there's other BIOS settings I need to alter. I'm hoping to overcome obstacles here with this post Any help is appreciated. Installer Log 30-Jan-2014.txt -----EDIT----- Ok, so OS X 10.9 is a go. Still haven't run EDP because there is not an EDP profile for the 5420. I have created a thread in the EDP subforum. I dont have any EC hardware ) ON A SIDE NOTE: 2 things I'd like to see fixed, but are in no way hindering operation: On integrated keyboard, ALT key is acting as Super (Apple Logo) key. Windows key (Super) is assumedly acting as ALT key, don't know the function of ALT on Macs, don't know how to test. Known fix? Integrated mouse trackpad does not seem to support gestures (my primary usage is for scrolling). Is there a known fix for this?
  23. Hey there, Name's Advanttage (Steve) I attend the forums, although I'll be the first to say I'm not the best at engaging, mainly for research as I don't have much to offer in the "moving forward" realm. Anyhow, attached you will find a System Report generated by Aida64 that outlines my system, which for the record is Dell E6410 NVidia 4GB(2x2GB) 750GB HDD, Windows 8.1 (primary drive) I have a spare 160 GB HDD that I'm using for this little project. I am using an iMac that my roommate has to create the installer, he is running Mavericks. Following this guide for the OS X installation works, Upon install I have to figure out a solution for Lan/Wifi but that's irrelevant for now. So, I mentioned I have the 160GB drive as my project drive, I swap out my primary HDD w/ Win8.1 x64, Ubuntu 13.10 for the spare, which is completely dedicated to this project I've undertaken. When Installing & Booting OS X Bios Settings Load Defaults Sata Controller: AHCI When working with Windows Bios Settings Load Defaults Sata Controller: RAID Anyhow, as mentioned, I can install OS X no problem. Once I reboot in to Windows 8.1 x64 installer I'm presented with the error, upon partitioning My support request here isn't to try and get Windows to install on GPT Disk, but the opposite. Any support for creating the Mavericks Installer so it anticipates an MBR disk? When I go through the USB Installer creator, it prompts me to select if I will be using MBR partitioning. I clicked Yes Everything works fine, I boot into bios, select AHCI, continue through partitioning, using the scheme outlined above. Once I get to choose my disk, OS X, I'm presented with a message that I forgot to note, but the message is complaining about how the partition OS X is NOT GUID Partition Table. I've done everything a logical fella who has been building and breaking, mostly breaking but you know how that is lol, with pc's for 18 years would do. Carefully retraced my steps from Creation of installer to the very end described just now. I'd like to avoid needing a Sata switch, KVM Switch style, for the two HDD's if I could as I can't seem to locate any, and my skills designing circuits are lacking, but present. OS X install with MBR partitioning? My goal is to Dual boot, I'll run through my troubles with alpha male Bootloader syndrome after I can get them both installed. Lol, sorry I have the habit of writing novels. Any other info just ask, I'm sure I can get it Thanks in advance Advanttage E6410SysRep.htm
  24. Ok so I am trying to install mavericks on my dell latitude d830. It has the NVIDIA 140m graphics. I followed the Pre Installation Instructions to get my USB prepared, then began following the Installation instructions. It loads up and gets to the point where you select your language. I selected English, then pushed next. The next window that pops up says "The OS X Installation couldn't be completed." In the background, it shows an installer log. I'm not sure what is going wrong as I am following the instructions. Thanks for your help!
