  1. I have an DELL E5530 and as a newbie, i have (somehow) installed MAC OS Sierra 10.12.3 on my Notebook. Thereby I found on youtube a guide how to create a bootable USB Stick from windows (as I don't have a second MAC) and later I found somewhere in the web a better EFI folder which I have used to normally boot and install Sierra. I am using CLOVER and here my E5530 specifications: Intel i5-3230M CPU 8 GB RAM BIOS-Version A11 High Definition Audio-Device Intel® HD Graphics 4000 (1920x1080, Full HD) Broadcom NetXtreme-Gigabit-Ethernet Dell Wireless 1504 802.11b/g/n (2,4 GHz) Surely there are a lot of hackintosh forums and descriptions (mostly for other Models/HW) on the web, but as a newbie, I spent a lot of days to become a functioning system, also performed min. 5 installations => It still doesn't work. Here are my problems: Under Settings / Network a "Ethernet" device is listed (for the wired connection, LAN). But is has a difficult MAC address 00:00:00:00:00:00... I can fix this with "ifconfig en0 ether <usefull MAC address>" within rc.local. Thereby DHCP does not work and is cyclically connect and disconnect whole the time. So I set the IP/Subnet Mask/Router/DNS Server manually and the Notebook in this way becommes connected to my router and the Ethernet device becomes status "Connected" ==> The problem is that it only looks great but the Notebook is still not connected (why/how ever)! Pinging the router or such other usefull IP does not work. I don't know what to do/try next. My WLAN does not work. Under Settings / Network there is no WLAN listed. I have no sound. Is there anyone of you having Sierra installed properly supporting HW like for my DELL E5530 who can send me the relevant EFI folder (for the EFI partition) and describe me in few steps a postinstall situation? Additional Info: ls -1 /Volumes/Hackintosh/Library/Extensions/ ACS6x.kext ATTOCelerityFC8.kext ATTOExpressSASHBA2.kext ATTOExpressSASRAID2.kext ArcMSR.kext CalDigitHDProDrv.kext HighPointIOP.kext HighPointRR.kext PromiseSTEX.kext SoftRAID.kext I have attached my actual EFI folder (from the EFI partition). Any help is wellcome EFI_E5530.zip
  2. Hi, I'm trying to install macOS Sierra on an fujitsu siemens scaleo p2 g31t-m2. The system have a core 2 quad processor. (= Sandy Bridge) BEFORE: I had an version of snow leopard version 10.6.8 running on the system. I have the system OS upgraded to el capitan on following method. I have el capitan installation file downloaded from the mac app store and an bootable USB stick. I inject NVIDEA. The system I can install with using the following bootflags: dart=0 nv_disable=1 (-x) -v After the installation completed is I have the Clover bootloader installed on the HDD from https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded)/. The systems was perfectly updated to OS X El Capitan and can now boot without my USB connected and works smoothly. CURRENT: Now I'm trying to update the system to macOS Sierra. I have again an bootable USB stick, again selected for the options usb, sierra and inject nvidea. So far all good.... But now i want to boot from my sierra USB with the same bootflags as before "dart=0 nv_disable=1 (-x) -v" but i can't get to the installation screen. the screen hangs on the apple logo or when i used the bootflag -v the screen hangs on line 1 with plus signs. (see attached picture). How can I solve that problem, so I can install macOS Sierra ? Is it possible for my system/configuration ? Thanks in advance Regards,
  3. So I have installed Sierra on my Vostro 2520, but can't get the Intel HD 3000 graphics to work. I've gotten WiFi to work. and will work on Sleep, Brightness and better trackpad support when I get graphics. If any of you could link me to solutions for all these that would be great.
  4. Hey team. This is easily the nicest "Mac" I've ever owned. Thanks again a million times for maintaining this site, and for helping me and everyone else so often and so well. My latest hiccup is wired Ethernet; when I plug in the cable, under Network Preferences it flips back and forth between "unplugged" and "no IP address": It's a known working cable, and I have both a link light and an activity light on the back of the laptop. What other info would be helpful to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance!
  5. I was finally able to get Sierra running on my E5550, but some problems remain. Working: Graphics, battery indicator, Ethernet Not working: Audio, Bluetooth, Camera, Card reader I followed Jake Lo's guide, but wasn't able to get up and running that way. I had to hack my way through every step it seems. I used EFI_4200.zip and the E5550_A15_Disable_GT820M.zip bootpack. I've copied kext files to Clover and to LE, ran the chmod/chown and cache rebuild. I copied the config.plist from the bootpack download section-by-section into my working file. I finally tracked down the item that seems to be the issue. If I include ACPI\SSDT\DropOem = YES then I am not able to boot. Booting starts, but mid-way through the progress bar, I receive the O- symbol. I am not even sure if that has anything to do with my issue, but that is the only thing that I haven't completed all the way from the guide. I have attached my config file and can send you any other data that you want to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hope I haven't missed something dumb. config.plist.zip
  6. I got Sierra installed following Jake's nice and clear clover method instruction. Thanks for that! Working: speed step, turbo, all 3 USB ports, battery management, sleep (seems to be working), built-in audio + mic, Wi-Fi (Atheros 9280), Samsung SSD, webcam. Not tested: HDMI, eSATA, SD card reader, ...? Not working: multi-touch, bluetooth, ...? Problem: I get a kernel panic report in the console that seems to be created during the boot process. To me it looks like there is a problem with some voodoo kext but neither /L*/E*/ nor /S*/L*/E* contain something called *voodoo*. I would like to get rid of this error but don't know where to start...I believe because of this I also get an error message window each time I login. Attached is my CLOVER folder and the panic report from the console. Thanks a lot for your help! 10. Hi guys, I updates my Latitude to Sierra, but had to disable the NVS4200M in the BIOS and go with the HD3000 graphics. Now, I am facing problems during work: when I start the Photos App or Safari and download a file, the display freeze, sometimes the mouse can be moved, but nothing reacts any longer. I see activity for the HDD and system seem to work, but screen refresh seems to hang. Does anybody is facing the same?
  11. So I was able to get Sierra working on my machine, but I can't get it to power down correctly, it will shut down almost everything, but the power button will still stay lit. I remember encountering this issue before with all of the other versions of OSX that was put onto this machine, but I can't find any of the old E6410 threads to see how I solved this issue. Shouldn't be anything related to DSDT because it is setup the same way as the other OSX's I put on here, so it has to do with removing a kext, adding a modified text, or changing something in the power management settings to get it to shut down. Any help would be appreciated on this.
  12. Hy guys! I'm italian, so I apologize for my english XD I have a Dell E6520 with this specs CPU i5 2410M Ram 6GB Motherboard Dell 0J4TFW Gpu Intel HD3000 Gpu NVidia N-Vidia NVS 4200M Audio IDT High Definition Audio Network Broadcom 802.11 BIOS A02 I'm trying to instal<l Sierra using the guid I found in this forum, but it doesn't work. I get the Apple logo, then the loading starts, and when the white bar is a bit more than halfway, the process just stop and I get a prohibited mark. I would try also the guide that use myHack, but when I run the App i get an error message. What can I do? Thanks for the help
  13. Hello I'm using the bootpack posted here on my E7440 i5 (macOS Sierra 10.12.1), it works OK. (I'll update this bootpack with latest changes). With the 10.12.1 update, physical volume buttons are working again. Clover version: 3882 (10/28/2016) Just replace/update your touchpad and keyboard driver (VoodooPS2Controller.kext) with Dr. Hurt's Refined ALPS TouchPad driver Release 5 Final posted here, I must say this one is almost perfect! (Gestures, horizontal and vertical scrolling, trackstick, etc) amazing job Dr. Hurt. No preference pane though (Known issue with this kind of driver and Sierra) unless you update it with one from 10.11.6 or older. Rarely but sometimes it reboots or starts without sound (more often when rebooting) it gets automatically fixed with another reboot or power off & start. (This is probably a rebuild cache issue after an update) Hangs when trying to play iTunes movies, and certain video formats on the web. (still can't figure what's going on here...) For those using Fortinet VPN client (which includes antivirus for some weird reason...) I've found that Forticlient (5.4 latest version) is not compatible with macOS Sierra, it was causing some bad issues on my SSD partition, some examples were: an error appeared when booting into macOS (kext not compatible), longer times to load, long time to shutdown (30 seconds or more), I'm sure this caused my partition to die last week, I could not even mount it anymore and i had to format it... (Time Machine saved me), i reinstalled just to see if I had the same results and yes... it even caused an error again...
  14. Hello everyone, After the surprisingly huge success with El Capitan, I decided to give Sierra a try. This thread is dedicated to get at least the installer running on the Dell E6500. Thoughts, opinions and discussions are also very welcome. (1) Using dosdude1's Sierra Patch, the installer USB creation was a breeze. Without the patch, the installer won't even try to boot (incompatible Mac). http://dosdude1.com/sierrapatch.html (2) Installer USB loads fine. (3) NVDAStartup causes kernel panic when trying to boot into the installer. nvda_drv=1 nv_disable=1 InjectNvidia=false does not work. I am not sure why but Nvidia still try to load the driver when nv_disable=1 is already present. I will post my DSDT.aml, config.plist and kexts later (still using the same ones from El Capitan). That is all for now. Any pointers and tips are highly encouraged. Thank you.
  15. Hi, I hope I posted in the right category, but basically, I have a Dell Latitude E6540 (with an i7 4810MQ, Radeon HD 8790M and HD Graphics 4600) that I have successfully hackintoshed, with basically everything working completely by using a guide (I forgot who made it, but it was really useful!) The only thing that doesn't work is the dGPU (my Radeon HD 8790M), as macOS only shows my HD 4600. In Clover, there is an option to "Inject ATI", but in those settings everything is set to 0x00000000 or something similar (like FakeID: 0x00000), and the last time I tried checking "Inject ATI", macOS wouldn't boot. I've seen some people with my same laptop saying that they wanted to disable they're 8790M, but I just couldn't figure out how I could even enable it. And also, the user who made the guide has something called "bootpacks" I believe, when booting with Clover. One of them was with "Optimus", but then I looked it up and it seems like that is only a Nvidia thing?
I'm not that good at hackintoshing, so excuse me if I'm doing anything wrong.
For reference, I included an image at the top of the post. If anyone can help me get my HD 8790M working, that would be very nice :3

  16. Hi, I made a clover installer with your guide on how to install El Capitan / Sierra. When i boot the USB stick everything looks good untill the actual mac OS X installer appears... It looks like there are two screens in one... I attatched two pictures to make ik a little clearer. Any help would be much appreciated. The videocard is an Intel HD4000 the screen has a resolution of 1920x1080. thanks!, Roelof
  17. i have Dell Latitude E6420 - you can see my hardware in the photos (sorry for the bad english) I tried to install Mac OS Sierra and i got this .. in the BIOS i changed to ACHI. if you will help i will appreciate it Please Helppppp
  18. Hello, using the clover guide I successfully installed Sierra. Nevertheless, I can't boot it from SDD directly only using USB. At the beginning I was getting a KP caused by AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext... I searched here for the patched kext and problem solved... partially... I'm not getting KPs but the system is not starting... I don't have any clue, but based on my previous experience with Yosemite I suspect that it could be related to some kexts not installed properly... any ideas? Regards
  19. Hello dear Latitude D830 owners ! UPDATED FOR El Capitan Final Release : WORKS 100% ! UPDATED FOR macOS Sierra 10.12 Developer Preview ! See post #9 For those who tried to install 10.11 DP1, you may have problem booting your USB stick on your system and actually end up with a "still waiting for root device" error. After some research, I finally managed to successfully boot and install El Capitan on it by patching the DSDT from original bootpack for D830 Nvidia series. The patch is quite simple and you'll just need to edit your DSDT and apply PJAlms "Basic Apple Device Renames" available here. (just follow instructions). Basically, it will change this : Device (USB2) { Name (_ADR, 0x001D0001) // _ADR: Address Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) // _PRW: Power Resources for Wake to this : Device (UHC3) { Name (_ADR, 0x001D0001) // _ADR: Address Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) // _PRW: Power Resources for Wake Also, you must change device (ECHI) to device (EHC1). Actually, this the most important edit. Renaming USBx to UHCx doesn't really matters. However on my system, I still have 1 of the 3 ports that isn't working at all (they all works fine on Yosemite). It could be related to some errors in the proposed DSDT so if you see any, please report ! Fixed ! see below. Sleep/wake don't work on the other hand . Forgot to set Hibernate mode to 0 : sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 [EDIT] Thanks to Pokenguyen, stinga111 & VCH888, there's a guide to fix all USB related issues. However, DSDT edits may still be usefull. [EDIT 2] Attached is customized DummyUSBEHCIPCI.kext thanks to the mentioned Guide above and updated DSDT. Also : I found out that using a MacBookPro3,1 SMBios eliminates the need of using any extra kext since all ports are already configured for use with D830 hardware : - 6 PRT in EHC1 and 4 PRT in EHC2 in OS X 10.11 IOUSBHostFamily.kext vanilla kext. So it's up to you. Note that DSDT editing from ECHI to EHC1 is still mandatory in every case. You can use the attached DSDT, it's already patched and works fine whith both Clover and Chameleon. Works with Dell Latitude D830 Nvidia QUADRO NVS 135M & Nvidia QUADRO NVS 140M Note : Files removed. Complete new set in post #9
