  1. Hey ! I need help. I fight with this modem for a few day, I have read some topic about this, but for me don't work with successfully. I have High Sierra 10.13.3, Dell E7240 and Sierra Wireless AirPrime (Qualcomm 4G) DW5570 (7W5P6) (VID 413C; PID 81A3) I used Legacy_Sierra_QMI.kext (so modem is active in system report - position usb and wwan). Who exactly explain me what and how I must edit. FakeSMC.kext or CellPhoneHelper.kext (or both?). Perhaps I have wrong port on USB ? Thank for any help. Greetings Mates!
  2. I am new to this site, but I am really coming to appreciate the depth of knowledge and the responsiveness to questions. In response to my comment about the AW-CE123H stopping working after a Mojave update, I was told: Ahah. That's quite likely (I wasn't really sure what I was doing that first time 'round). I didn't know about the OSX Latitude site earlier. A search might have helped me find the problem. But... It sounds as if dropping back to Mojave might be a different workaround. I did re-install with Mojave using Jake Lo's EFI folder for Latitude E7440 posted here. Wireless still doesn't. (In fact the Wi-Fi menu icon is a greyed-out fan with an "X", and it says, "Wi-Fi: No hardware installed" I'm new to all this, but I understood you to say: - Copy that Mojave kext (10.14.6_IO80211Family.kext) file to /Library/Extensions - Repair permissions and rebuild cache as per the process detailed here - Restart (couldn't hurt) This didn't work - perhaps I'm misinterpreting. What else should I check? Many thanks.
  3. A while back, I used Clover to install macOS Mojave on my Dell Latitude E7440. I installed an AzureWave AW-CE123H card (BCM94352HMB chip) for wireless. Everything was working great. But Wi-Fi stopped working, perhaps after (my stupidity) allowing an OS upgrade from 10.14.? to ?+1. (Bluetooth stopped working as well.) So I bought another AzureWave AW-CE123H Wi-Fi card, thinking that the hardware might have failed. No dice. But otherwise, the computer continues to work well (I just use Ethernet when I want the internet). I had always wanted to play with OpenCore, so I installed Catalina using Jake Lo's OC 0.6.0 EFI files (https://osxlatitude.com/forums/topic/13155-solved-e7440-no-usb-port-working-with-opencore/?_fromLogin=1) Wireless still doesn't work. Symptoms are: System Preferences:Network Sidebar shows "Wi-Fi off" with a red dot. I click "Turn Wi-Fi On" and the "Network Name" popup flashes, but remains set to 'Wi-Fi Off" Click the "Advanced" button, Wi-Fi tab shows one of the local SSIDs, but no connection is made System Report app Bluetooth "No information found" Network:Wi-Fi - see below On the off-chance that the wireless card had "worked loose", I removed and re-installed it. Mechanically, everything looks fine. My question: How could I debug this? What other information could I collect? Many thanks! 4. Does there exist a compatible Mini-PCI-Express WIFI Card Model with MHF4 / IPEX4 connectors?
  5. Hey guys, I'm very new on world of Hackintosh, today is my first day on this wonderful world xD Well, I've installed everything very fine, works everything perfectly, except the wireless... I've searched for a long time on many forums and even here, and I found nothing. So I'm here to make this question: Have some way to make Wi-Fi works on my notebook? CPU: Intel Core i5-5200u 2.2GHz GPU: Intel HD Graphics 5500 RAM: 8GB OS: Sierra 10.12
  6. Hi Everyone, Let me start by saying the guides on here are absolutely excellent and to a Hackintosh newbie like me, it was clear, concise and very easy to follow. Compliments to you. I must apologise straight away if I'm asking blindingly obvious questions. But I have successfully managed a mavericks install with everything working bar the following on a dell latitude i5 e6330 with Intel HD 3000 graphics. Wireless - Here I bought a DELL 1510 card and have connected the white and grey leads internally. The wireless refuses to be seen though. I am have also tried attaching the black and white leads internally with the same result. Multitouch - I'm sure I could follow the guides on here and get that working. Regarding the latitude E6330, I am happy to provide any files you need so the moderators can maybe make a boot pack? or assist others when the problems I have are hopefully sorted? In regards to the wireless though I would be VERY grateful for any advice. Please bear with me in advance because as I said before I am new to this. Thanks and apologies if I don't get back to you straight away if you are able to help.
  7. Two problems: Wireless Cannot Find Networks I installed an Atheros AR5BHB112 as recommended on the supported/unsupported card thread. It is detected but cannot find wireless networks. I tried to manually enter my wireless network information, but it could not find it/connect in either clear or WEP modes. My SSID is not hidden. lspci -nn returns: 03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9300 Wireless LAN adaptor [168c:0030] (rev 01) I've tried running MyFix quick and full and have rebooted several times with no success. The old Dell card had two antenna hookups for ch 1 and 2; I attached those to ch 1 and 2 on the Atheros card. There was a third cable that was unused; I attached that to ch 0 on the Atheros card. Is this where I went wrong? Keyboard Layout Is Not Saved I use a Japanese keyboard layout. When I reboot, the computer reverts to a US layout and I have to go to Keyboard Settings to redetect it. Is there a way to permanently set it to a Japanese layout?
  8. I apologize in advance for the length of this post... I suspect that may immediately turn off some people. Forgive me, but I tried to include all the relevant info I could. I have an Inspiron E1505 (aka 6400) running SL (10.6.8) and I'm investigating various hardware upgrades. I probably won't do ALL of these, but I'd like to know if there are any OS X compatibility issues with any of the proposed hardware upgrades before I start spending money. I'd also appreciate any "performance" related responses, ie "not worth it" or "definitely worth it" or hardware compatibility issues, ie "you can't put that CPU in an E1505"... unless of course those go outside the scope of this forum. My goal with these upgrades is obviously to increase performance, but also just to get some experience swapping out various bits of hardware and making them work with SL. So... borderline "performance" improvements may be worthwhile from a "just for the experience" point of view... depending on the upgrade cost that is. My current configuration (as best I've be able to determine) is: Model: Dell Inspiron E1505 System: MM061 (not exactly sure what this is) BIOS: A17 Chipset: Intel 945GM (FSB: 533MHz/677MHz) Motherboard: MD666 CPU: Intel T2050 (1.6GHz/2M/533MHz) Memory: 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800MHz (PC2-6400) SDRAM SO-DIMM 200 pin non-ECC Video: Intel GMA 950 (integrated) Display: WXGA Wireless: WLAN (Dell) 3900 802.11/b/g Hard Drive: 120GB Seagate Momentus 7200.2 (ST9120823AS) NOTE: I'm not exactly sure what the "MM061" is referring to. It's displayed on the boot screen just above the BIOS revision and I've seen it in relation to the BIOS itself (not the BIOS revision) and the model number and maybe a few other things. I suppose the model number makes the most sense. My optimal configuration (again, best I can figure) would be: ... Motherboard: YD612 (required for video upgrade - includes PCIe slot) CPU: Intel T7600 (2.3GHz/4M/667MHz) Memory: 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 667MHz (PC2-5300) SDRAM SO-DIMM 200 pin non-ECC Video: ATI Radeon X1400 Display: WSXGA+ Wireless: Atheros AR5B91 802.11/b/g/n Hard Drive: some SSD 80-120GB I think my rough order/importance of the upgrades would be: wireless (cheap network performance increase) CPU (faster and 64-bit) memory (seems like it should help) motherboard/video (better video processing) display (increased resolution) SSD hard-drive Wireless - Based on one of the threads in the R&D forum it looks like the Atheros AR5BXB112 and Dell DW1505 would also work OOTB with SL. I listed the Atheros AR5B91 because I assumed it would have the same/similar 802.11n performance but wouldn't cost as much (I haven't priced any of them yet). If that's an invalid assumption, please let me know. For reference, my current wireless router is a "D-Link 655 Xtreme N Gigabit" and a "Hawking 300N Ranger Extender (HWREN1)" which helps on one side of the house. I don't plan to replace either of those any time soon, so whichever wireless card works best from a compatibility/price/performance point of view is probably how I'd like to go. CPU - Apart from the performance increase I assume I'd see by going from a T2050 to a T7600, I'm hoping I'd be able to run 64-bit SL. I've run into some software packages that only provide 64-bit versions, so I was hoping the T7600 would solve that issue. If there's some reason I won't be able to run 64-bit SL with the T7600 please let me know. Memory - I'm assuming there's no point in going to PC2-6400 (800MHz) memory since the FSB for the Intel 945GM only supports up to 667MHz. Also, I'm assuming with the T7600 cpu @ 667MHz, it would be optimal to have the memory match that? Also, the E1505/6400 doesn't "officially" support 4G of memory, but I've seen several references to people saying it works although you may only be able to see 3.2G. I'm not sure if the 3.2G limit is hard or depends on the chipset and/or CPU and/or OS being used. Most of the discussions I saw related to Windows. If anyone can clarify what I should expect with the Intel GMA 945 chipset and T7600 (64-bit) CPU and SL, I'd appreciate it. Video Card - From what I understand, in order to upgrade the video, I would need to replace the motherboard with one that includes a PCIe slot (YD612). Assuming I did that, I have 3 options: the ATI x1300, the ATI x1400 or the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300. From what I've read, the ATI x1400 is better then the NVIDIA even though the NVIDIA was originally a more expensive add-on. Hard Drive - The SSD drive may be one of the better upgrades from a performance point of view, but from an "experience" and cost point of view it's pretty low (ie, easy to do and costs a lot). I haven't really looked that much at SSD drives, so I may find I can get one cheaper then I thought. As mentioned at the top... my primary goal in posting this on the OSXLatitude site is to verify OS X compatibility. But I'd appreciate corrections to any assumptions I've made about hardware compatibility and/or performance expectations. Thanks for any help.

    Ar9462

I have the qualcomm atheros 9462. Vendor id = 168c Device id = 34 Name = "pci168c,34" I tried adding the ids to the AirPortAtheros40 kext but it didn't work. I read that it's not compatible with this kext for some reason. So I looked around and found an AR9462 kext in the google source code of EDP: https://code.google.com/p/osxlatitude-edp/source/browse/trunk/storage/kextpacks/?r=226#kextpacks%2FAtheros-AR9462 Unfortunately, I don't know how to get it to work on my custom built system nor do I need anything else. Is there any way for me to obtain Atheros-AR9462 kext without EDP and will it work? The strange thing is that the bluetooth from this card works oob.
  10. Hi all, I have successfully installed Maverick following this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/5641-dell-latitude-e6430-intel-mavericks/ but unfortunately my wireless card is not detected (the wired one works perfectly). Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance, Adrian
  11. Help! I've almost got my 10.9 installation working like a charm on my E6530. Even the trackpad and keyboard and working, but even after replacing the original Intel Wireless with a DW1510 I purchased off eBay I've not been able to get the wireless working. System profiler can see networks and it looks like the drivers for the card are installed and working, but trying to get it to choose a network fails every time. The menu bar icon causes a beach-ball whenever clicked on and the System:Network prefpane won't let me choose a network (drop down is greyed out). Screenshots attached showing pretty much all relevant screens. I've rolled back airportd and I've also tried the work-around where you go via "Assist me..." to select the network, but that always results in my wireless password being refused (despite definitely being correct). I'm a bit at a loss. I've tried using MyHack to rebuild the kernel caches etc. Hasn't helped. My next step is to try and re-brand the card with an Apple device id, but I'm also struggling to get the card to rebrand, basically when I do the `find /sys/devices -name ssb_sprom` step there's no results returned. It isn't due to multiple entries either, there's just no results. I'm not sure whether this is related or not at the moment... I'm at the hair pulling out stage, so any advice or tips on what to check next would be gratefully received!
