Recommended Posts

Hi, i request your help to fix my installation.

I installed Sierra 10.12 and then updated to 10.12.6 via AppStore in my DELL Inspiron 5542: HD4400 with i3 at 1.7GHz with tag code FS17K22.

working:

HD4400 graphics ( CL problems)

keyboard and trackpad

webcam

wifi usb DWA-131

not working:

Audio (seems to be ALC255)

USB3.0: if using an external SSD hard disk (LEXAR Workflow D256) doesn't get recognized. Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 64Gb recognized but working slow. both working in usb2.0 port.

not installed:

Bluetooth

not tested yet:

HDMI video / audio

card reader.

After many days reading posts about patching and trying a lot of kexts, i give up and kindly request your help.

1.- I cannot make audio to work.

2.- i cannot patch correctly my usb ports and fix usb3 not working properly.

3.- sleep / restore not working fine

4.- Activity Monitor app crashes if clicking on Energy tab.

5.- Arabesque screesaver not working (CL problem?)

i'm attaching reporting files as requested.

I'll wait for your instructions and help, thanks

does system have nvidia card?

disable Inject Nvidia ; update FakePCIID.kext to match same version of FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext

Remove NullCPUPowermanagement.kext

you don't have Audio kext install, so don't expect audio to work

try adding AppleALC.kext, you already have Lilu.kext

sleep might require DSDT/SSDT patching; What version of BIOS are you running?

Activity Monitor app crashing is due to older version of ACPIBatteryManager, make sure to use latest

Switch CrsActiveConfig to 0x67, might need it to run unsigned kexts

- try adding AppleALC.kext, you already have Lilu.kext

added applealc kext release v1.2.2 .

No sound

bios version A04

- Activity Monitor app crashing is due to older version of ACPIBatteryManager, make sure to use latest

installed rehab man-battery-2017-1001.

Working OK now.!

ok, audio is working partially with VoodooHDA 2.8.8.

connecting headphones doesn't route audio to headphones. have to change source output manually.

audio very low.

bad quality audio with headphones, like if it is missing something, like when you don't plug it in fully and voices sounds far.

but hey! i have audio at least.

i tried patching dsdt as everyone recommends, but i still can't.

lets forget about screensaver arabesque. its not that important obviously.

do you have an idea about usb3.0?

thanks again

try adding FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext

For audio, try changing layoutID to 13, currently you have 3. Remove VoodooHDA first

screensaver not working could be due to full graphics acceleration issue

I'll try patching your file later when I have some time
