	Hi,<br>
	<br>
	In the light of celebrating the 10th year anniversary of OSXL - I decided to dig through the waybackmachine. Check it out!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Back in 2011 when we launched our first official page, it was with a clear vision of creating a new forum, free of ads, fast and reliable - To some, OSXL was just a nerdy bunch who put together something called EDP that for the most part.. worked.. but as EDP grew so did OSXL.<br>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29371" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2011.png.5ac4b03073c504e086beb453ae2936e5.png" rel=""><img alt="2011.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29371" data-ratio="71.78" data-unique="bc1pb1lkx" width="1024" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2011.thumb.png.9dd43a72c86ded67c8974c2ec8ebdfc1.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In 2012 iMick took charge of the design and pushed OSXL to a brand new direction - shiny and nice - wordpress was still on the front but the backend is now IPboard (and have been ever since)
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29372" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2012.png.ec6d20ddd55774c79d64521a10dc0700.png" rel=""><img alt="2012.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29372" data-ratio="111.95" data-unique="dyoy16tfy" width="686" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2012.thumb.png.cdee83f598fb44e559608a0d1c95c7fc.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The year is 2013 and a new design saw the light of day - it was a a nice refresh and brought a more "flat design" - between us, i never liked the "flatness" of things - keep that in mind when you think about the 2020 design - "Return of the angry dane" <img alt=";)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" srcset="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" title=";)" width="20" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/emoticons/default_wink.png"><br>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29373" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2013.png.3bf943a954ece40c4d786bc34a822e36.png" rel=""><img alt="2013.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29373" data-ratio="133.33" data-unique="914vi5k34" width="576" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2013.thumb.png.6f9c43fcf07fcf0bba35e915645d3c1b.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<br>
	2014 brought more updates to the site - among other, the compat. chart for EDP which actually used the database build into EDP - behind the scenes it was some cool shit there.
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29374" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2014.png.63185b017070913725dda8f4bf98f8b1.png" rel=""><img alt="2014.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29374" data-ratio="159.01" data-unique="2yzml6xmt" width="483" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2014.thumb.png.1e81e82748cb3bcd00cb2870d54aa245.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The 2014 design lived with us for a long time with only minor changes along the way... but 2017/2018 brought a new design - sticking to the "flatness".
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29375" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2018.png.b1540c200a00253bbf360baa078011ee.png" rel=""><img alt="2018.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29375" data-ratio="139.89" data-unique="a87d941gv" width="549" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2018.thumb.png.c0739225f2a5912ab3e15b7338bd9628.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	... and here we are in 2020 - a new fresh design - still running IPboard - still the same vision, a free place on the internet for macOS nerds to hangout, meet and hack the hell out of their machines.
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" data-fileext="png" data-fileid="29376" href="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2020.png.9a1ae4febaf6742af3f5d795b8800e49.png" rel=""><img alt="2020.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="29376" data-ratio="112.28" data-unique="0hrk4sobt" width="684" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/monthly_2020_12/2020.thumb.png.7f0b75ab85c19aabf840616ff9640f95.png"></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<br>
	I would like to take a minute to say thank you to all of the users of OSXL who have made this journey worth it - but also to the outstanding crew of OSXL - you guys are amazing!<br>
	<br>
	<br>
	<strong>Ps.</strong><br>
	Back in 2010 when OSXL was founded - one of the first machines that was hacked up was a "Dell Latitude D430" - here is the very first screenshot I ever uploaded from that machine.<br>

	As announced a few days ago, we've now upgraded our site and deployed a new Theme. We hope you'll all like it. Not only does it give a nice refresh to the site, it also fixes a few bugs we'd been suffering from for some months. Site should also run a little quicker.

	Hi,<br><br>
	Running OSXL have always been a mission we have been proud of - from the early days of D4x0 we could never have imagined that OSXL would grow to what it is today - a safe and nice place where hackintosh and macOS nerds can meet, have fun and play around.<br><br>
	But running OSXL also have costs.. hosting.. the forum software.. mail service.. dns .. it cost.. and it never gets cheaper - so faar donations usually covers less than 5% of our operating cost.<br><br>
	So.. what todo ?<br><br>
	OSXL have always been against showing commercial ads our site - mostly because it slows down the site and ruin the user experience - personally .. i hate a slow website.<br><br>
	So, we always explore new options (specially if its fun.. like the seedbox partnership)<br><br>
	Anyway, today Brave browser launched - brave browser is (besides being a really nice web browser) - is a browser that allows its users to earn $BAT (a crypto currency) and donate those earned Bat(s) to websites they visit.<br><br>
	We have enabled donations to the site - both automatic - but also by using the browsers build-in functionality.<br><br>
	Wanna test brave browser? .. head over to: <a href="https://brave.com/osx926" ipsnoembed="true" rel="external nofollow">https://brave.com/osx926</a><br><br>
	(Btw, brave gives us 5 USD for each download, so you having fun testing a new browser, is also helping us and by that yourself)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	... and may this be a hint of more fun stuff with cryptocurrencies coming your way <img alt=";-)" data-emoticon="true" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" title=";-)" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/emoticons/default_icon_e_wink.gif"><br><br>

	Morning everyone,<br><br>
	Things are moving forward as planed and some cool things will come over the corse of this week,.<br><br>
	IPboard upgrade:<br>
	First of all - we are testing the latest 4.4.2 of IPboard over att <a href="http://dev.osxlatitude.com" ipsnoembed="true" rel="">http://dev.osxlatitude.com</a> - so faar it seems a few theme issues will have to be fixed - but besides that it looks good.. so expect and upgrade later this week<br><br>
	New server:<br>
	OSXL will be moving to a new hosts - so faar we have been on shared hosting - usually sponsored - but have now decided to move to our own box - this will improve performance but also allow us to integrate features and new services better - the server move is expected to happen with the next two seeks.<br><br>
	Discord:<br>
	Join us on discord - IPboard and the forum is awesome .. a great solution.. but why not take the chance to hang out with the rest of us.. <br><br>
	Joins us at: <a href="https://discord.gg/Wz7EU3" ipsnoembed="true" rel="external nofollow">https://discord.gg/Wz7EU3</a>

	Hi,<br><br>
	After a recent upgrade we found that users now was forced to login using their "Username" and no longer could use their "E-mail" to login, this have created a great deal of support tickets and general confusion.<br><br>
	We are truly sorry about that - to the Team's defense this was a chagne in the IPboard software - a fix is now implemented.<br><br>
	In other news we are currently working on a new / better hosting solution since the sponsored hosting we currently are using will be going away.<br><br>
	To this end we have bought our own box and are taking the chance to experiment with other web server software and newer PHP version - ultimately we would have liked to go with Litespeedtech's litespeed web server and asked if they were interested in sponsoring us (being the non-profit site we are) - they could at best offer us 25% rebate - Sadly.<br><br>
	We are currently using Apache - but as everyone knows - its not known for its extreme performance.<br><br>
	If you have experince with webhosting or feel like helping out - please contact me at lsb@osxlatitude.com<br><br><br>
	//Leon<br><br>
	PS.<br>
	We also identified an issue with sparpost (the mail service we use) - that is fixed now and you should start to recieve mails from the site.<br><br>

	Hi there,<br><br>
	I got a bit of important news to share with you.<br><br>
	As you know - OSXL and its services is privately funded by the team and via donations we get (keep em coming, the few that donates rocks!) - we dont have any ads and we dont bundle any malware - we like to keep the site clean to give you the best experince we can.<br><br>
	But - running this site have its costs - its a fact we can't get around - so it got us thinking - how can we get some funding for the site without selling out of the core values that drives the site.<br><br>
	God knows we have had plenty of companies that want to advertize, sell their products or outright buy OSXL - so the discussions started - if we were to offer 3rd. party products on the site - it should not be without requirements.<br><br>
	 1. It should benefit the users<br>
	 2. It should be of interest to the users<br>
	 3. It should benefit the site<br>
	 4. No crap, scam or bad deals.<br><br>
	With that in mind - i am happy to present our first partner - i welcome <strong>RapidSeedbox</strong> to OSXL.<br><br>
	"<em>With RapidSeedbox, you do not have to worry about any logs, contracts or ISP’s. You will enjoy full privacy with us. Our Seedbox product is built with your security &amp; anonymity in mind</em>."<br><br>
	Basiclly - here is the deal - If you order a Seedbox via RapidSeexbox using the link below you get 25% of the first month and OSXL gets a 10% kickback - so you save money, get the best seedbox the market can offer and you help fund OSXL in the process - seems like a win-win for everyone?<br><br>
	Head over to: <a href="https://members.rapidseedbox.com/aff.php?aff=1430" ipsnoembed="true" rel="external nofollow">https://members.rapidseedbox.com/aff.php?aff=1430</a> and use the code "RAPID25-OSXL"<br><br>
	Have fun <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" srcset="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png"><br><br><br>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Just like any other forum out there, we also have rules - <strong>ours might be a bit more </strong><strong>simple / different</strong>.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>The hell with running a forum...</strong></span></span><br>
	Most forums have a tendency of getting bloated and filled up with crap - To deal with that all, useful information is moved to the Technical information section and topics are moved to the archive when no longer used in order to keep the forum fresh and clean - so don't take it personally if we delete a thread that you had started or messages you posted. it's the natural flow of things.<br>
	<br>
	<span style="color:#27ae60;"><strong>RULES</strong></span>
</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		No spamming, spammers will get SLAPPED<strong>*</strong>
	</li>
	<li>
		No flaming, flamers will get SLAPPED*
	</li>
	<li>
		No foul language or you will get SLAPPED*
	</li>
	<li>
		Read the <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/forum/161-faqs-tutorials/" rel=""><em><strong>FAQ</strong></em> (Frequently Asked Questions)</a> and use the <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?app=core&amp;module=search" rel=""><em><strong>Search</strong></em></a> facility before posting.
	</li>
	<li>
		Double (or multiple) posts will be deleted
	</li>
	<li>
		Useless topics will be deleted
	</li>
	<li>
		No topic bumping, posts will be deleted
	</li>
	<li>
		Messages unrelated to the topic of a thread and/or polluting messages will be deleted.
	</li>
	<li>
		Guides sections are clearly labelled "<em><strong>Installation guides only. No support here</strong></em>". Any request for support posted there will be deleted without notice.
	</li>
	<li>
		Topics with no activity (unless they serve a purpose) will be moved to <strong>"The Archive''</strong>: <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/forum/24-the-archive/" rel="">https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/forum/24-the-archive/</a>
	</li>
	<li>
		Warez, talk all you want but don't link to it (there is something called <em><strong>Private Messages</strong></em> you know).
	</li>
	<li>
		No support for distros, they're evil. If you use them, don't come here for help; they tend to have their own forum. Threads related to distro installations will be deleted.
	</li>
	<li>
		<u><strong>English only</strong></u>. If you want / need chatting in your own language, use the PM facility.
	</li>
	<li>
		No references, questions and/or links to TMX (tonycrap, xxxBeast and others...). We don't support their tools and they have their own forum.
	</li>
	<li>
		Use quotes with moderation. No need to quote the last message in each reply you post. Only quote an older message (or better, use <em><strong><span>@&lt;member </span>pseudo&gt;</strong></em><user name="">) or part of a message you want to specifically refer to in your reply.</user>
	</li>
	<li>
		Pertaining forum signatures; you may link to sites outside OSXL (except TMX) but keep it to the point. It's better to add what Hackintosh gear you got. You can edit your signature by clicking on your forum name at top left corner (when you're logged in of course) -&gt; choose "Account Settings" -&gt; "Signature".
	</li>
</ol>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="color:#c0392b;"><strong>*)</strong> SLAPPED = permanently banned by name, email and IP</span>
</p>

<p>
	That's it! Hopefully, we won't need more than that.<br>

	Ohh ya...<br>
	<br>
	Our groups....<br>
	<br>
	1. Crew = The top of the food chain, they control the site, services and are the ones who develop EDP, you can not apply to join the crew... you are selected.<br>

	Hi There,<br><br>
	Welcome to <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://www.osxlatitude.com" rel="">OSXLATITUDE.com</a> - a nice little forum for people who like to run OSX on their computers (both Desktop and Laptop).<br><br>
	My name is Leon, I'm part of the group called Elites, we are the nerds running this site and its services - i'll like to tell you a bit about how everything works here and why we do it.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong>Our services...</strong><br>
	We offer a set of services that makes it easy for you:
</p>

<ul>
<li>
		Forum - That's where you are right now
	</li>
	<li>
		Wiki style - A set of guides and information to make it easy to-do-it-yourself
	</li>
	<li>
		EDP - A package of scripts, kexts, DSDT, etc. that makes your Dell<strong>*</strong> able to run OS X
	</li>
</ul>
<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong>*</strong>) due to <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://www.osxlatitude.com/about/history/" rel="">my history</a> we got started with supporting DELL Latitude Laptops. But you can find Laptops (and Desktop workstations) from other manufacturers in EDP too. All the way back to OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, and all the way up to the latest MacOS X 10.x versions.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong>EDP</strong><br><a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://www.osxlatitude.com/edp/" rel="">osxlatitude.com/edp/</a> is a package of scripts, kexts, dsdt etc. - some made by us, others made by other communities and people - we do <strong>in NO way try to take credit for work that is not ours</strong> - as said before; we are using kexts that other people have created, and while its hard to keep track on who did what - we are pretty sure that those people know.. and they have our deepest respect and admiration, what we do take credit for is:<br><br>
	1. Packing and testing EDP<br>
	2. The scripts that we have added to EDP<br>
	3. dsdt's included in the package<br><br>
	Stable releases of EDP is on our wiki, you can freely download and use them - Test versions, meaning - the package that we are currently working on, is released to Beta testers and VIP users.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="http://www.osxlatitude.com/donate/" rel=""><strong>Donations</strong></a><br>
	Personally, we don't need donations, but donations do help keep the site running and it gives us a chance to buy some laptops to test on for research, these laptops are sold again so new models can be introduced into EDP. - in some cases, we might even choose to donate some of those contributions to other people who have helped with the EDP package.
</p>

<p>
	Donating is your choice, as long as you understand, that we do not charge money for the work we do, so if you donate - we thank you by giving you early access to our work, its not a payment, its our humble way of saying thank you!
</p>

<p>
	 <br><strong>The Groups..</strong><br>
	Like so many other sites, we have split ourselves into groups.<br><br>
	1. Elites, The core that work to maintain the site, services and EDP - you can not apply for this group, we will contact you to become a member of the Elites.<br>
	2. VIP Members, People who donate atleast $20USD: <a href="https://www.paypal.me/osxlatitude/usd" ipsnoembed="true" rel="external nofollow">https://www.paypal.me/osxlatitude/usd</a><br>
	4. Normal Members, thats most likely you
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	 You can read more about that, on other places on the forum <img alt="smile.gif" src="https://osxlatitude.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" data-src="https://osxlatitude.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif"> like in <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" href="https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/99-forum-rules/" rel="">our 'Forum Rules'</a>.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Again, welcome to OSXLATITUDE, we love to have you here and its cool you dropped by, and remember - your ideas is our vision.
</p>
