Did you remove VoodooPS2Controller first and place ApplePS2Smarttouchpad in /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other?

I actually did this before rebooting. Once it rebooted I was unable to complete the boot. No biggie though, I went the long route and reinstalled the os. Now I have the troubleshooting steps you guys have provided for the future.

    thank you guys.

    cat,

do you have full gestures once you boot with the new kext ?

  2. Jake,

prior to high Sierra that method used to work. I also use karabiner in high Sierra; however, no luck. I did copy the file provided to the path that was also provided. Now, for some reason the screen backlight goes out at boot up and after booting up it goes out very randomly.

    thanks again

For closing the lid , you don't have wait enough, nb not completely going into sleep. For scrolling gestures try to replace vooodoo2pc.kexrts to smarttouchpad.kexts

    catmater,

I can confirm that there is no trackpad support after computer goes to sleep; only keyboard works. I will give that kext a try.

Jake, thank you for the support. question,  do I need to establish power management ? I know there was a script for it what would you recommend?

vrebatta816 , after notebook sleep - you have working touchpad ?

catmater, after closing the lid (which I'm assuming the computer goes to sleep) I have trackpad usage. however, when I go to the apple icon and select sleep in order to get back to the system I must hard reset the laptop.

    Jake,

that did the trick thanks very much.

Lastly, the only thing that doesn't work is the scrolling gestures other than this it works just like a mac and can be use as an everyday laptop.

Question, if I were to add a real NVME drive to this device do I need to patch anything or everything should work out of the box since NVME is nativaly supported by high Sierra?

Hope this thread has helped anybody to make their latitude functional with an os like high Sierra

    Replace into /EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched

Jake thanks again. Quick question, since I took the dw1560 card from my 7450 for testing purposes.  If I were to get a dw1830 card would it work out the box ? or should I just buy another dw1560.

    catmater,

I haven't tested sleep as of yet. however, as soon as I get home I will give it a shot. nevertheless, I do remember closing the lid yesterday and minutes later I opened the laptop again and didn't see any issues there; I could be wrong though. But, in a couple of hours I will have a definitive answer.

    thank you

  6. yes I did. attached is the output of the terminal execution

one thing I've noticed since high Sierra is that the output is not similar to the ones I had in Sierra with my 7450

  7. oh WOW!!! progress progress

graphics was corrected with the changes.

bluetooth still works (tested with AirPods); however, no wifi detected.

sound works flawlessly.  trackpad still works but no gestures like scrolling.

I'm unable to change the brightness through the keyboards.

anyways thanks very much. hopefully everyone here with a 7480 can follow these instructions to get theirs working.

  8. Hello folks.

I just noticed something very strange after installing high Sierra 10.13.4 on a 7450 latitude. very randomly the backlight goes out and I need to press any key along with f12 to get it back on. I have used the latest bootpack from the 7450 latitude guide; the one with bios 19 to be more specifically. I can confirm that I have the latest bios installed.  one thing to add, I had always used this laptop with Sierra without any issues. I actually had to install high Sierra doing the above, pressing f12 every time it went out. Also, it always does this at boot time. The apple status bar goes almost half way and the light goes out. In the OS, the backlight going out happens very randomly.

thank for your help by the way

I'm attaching a clip to show you what I'm talking about. pictures say a thousand words

  9. Jake Lo, thank you for responding so fast. yes I meant to say dw1560

I count find a complete boot pack in the link you provided. However, I do remember seeing a thread where you do provide a complete bootpack (all kexts included named 7480_skylake)

this one . I do remember using it and the end result was a KP. However, I could give it another go if you instruct me to.

    thank you again

  10. Greetings guys. Thanks for all your support. Hopefully you guys can help me with my current setup.

    I successfully installed 10.13.4 on a latitude 7480 with HD 620 graphics.

however, I have couple of problems that I'm sure with your help can be resolved.

Installed, in this machine is a dw1650 wireless card. nevertheless, only bluetooth seems to be working.

in the about this Mac section it shows that my system has a intel hd 520 with 4 mb.

the trackpad works however I'm unable to do gestures like in example scrolling.

there is some locks after the system goes into sleep.

I'm unable to change the brightness and none of the f keys work.

lastly, sound is not working from the speakers nor the headphone jack

attached is my EFI folder which I copied from the 7x40 guide

thanks for your help. I really appreciate your time
