Thanks for the generous offer.  Unfortunately I have software I still run that depends on Rosetta.  I'm stuck for now at SL.  I found a bluetooth solution last night, used Ukelele

for a minor keyboard problem.  The only thing which would be very nice to have is the 

onboard audio working reliably.

Have you read my posts? I'm running 10.7.5 Lion (latest available update) and everything works pretty much straightforward - just use my kexts... Or do you have anything against Lion...? 

Glad to be helpful. Meanwhile I've managed to make the Bluetooth work with the attached kext.

Only thing not working properly now is sleep... Is there any advice that you could give me?

Hi, I've also successfully installed Lion 10.7.5 (latest version and all updates) on my recently acquired Toshiba Portege R500. Installation was a breeze and for full QE/CI I need to boot in 32bit and also use a custom AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext. (attached).

WiFi (Intel) doesn't work, but I've switched to a mini pci-e Broadcom BCM94311MCG card, that's natively recognized as airport. Problem solved.

Bluetooth is not recognized by system profiler, but since I've done a fresh windows 7 install too, maybe it needs to be activated first in the windows partition... I'll give it a try.

Sleep kind of works, with sleepenabler.kext it does get to sleep successfully but wakes up immediately after...to a very, very dark screen. Keyboard and touchpad also stop to work. So a lot of work still to be done to sort this one out...

Other than this everything's working great with some artifacts like the sound with voodooHDA 2.6.1 and the battery with VoodooBattery. But it's been so far 100% stable (no KP's).

What may I do to help out getting this one to the EDP DB?

PS - I also got a similar almost fully working Toshiba Portege R830 running ML 10.8.2.

Meanwhile I figured out that my BT issues were related to poor BT signal strength (never happened before) with the pairing of the magic trackpad, hence the mouse pointer erratic behavior - pretty simple to solve after all by relocating the magic trackpad.

I've read carefully this thread and I've given it a shot and installed the wifi/bt card suggested by Leon. 

My Toshiba R830 detected the wifi card oob but not the bluetooth. After I installed rehabman's bt kext (IOath3kfrmwr.kext

) then the BT started working too (thanks!) - Well kind of anyways...

I've tried before to connect a BT only dongle (used it on other hacks before) and the symptoms were exactly the same...when I first connect to my magic trackpad it gets correctly recognized and paired (see image1), the after I start to use it (the magic trackpad) it just behaves erratically (the pointer jumps from place to place) and even more strangely it behaves as a normal trackpad (no multi gesture, etc)!

Then when I go to system preferences to the trackpad preference instead of appearing the normal 'magic trackpad' preference panel it just appears the regular trackpad one (see image 2). The normal trackpad continues to work just fine.

I've connected before my magic trackpad to several other hacks without any kind of similar issues...

Could it be related to the PS2 kexts that I'm using to enable my keyboard and trackpad?

When will a Toshiba section with EDP support be available? From my experience it's one of the most hackintoshable notebook brand out there - I've had already a great hackbook Toshiba Qosmio X800 and now the Portege that runs pretty great too (even wifi oob!).

I'm of course available to help out in whatever way I can.

First of all congrats for the great site/community you've got here - a really fresh view on the hackintosh scene. 

I consider myself still as an amateur 'hackintosher', but I've done quite a few successful builds already. I'm more interested in hackintoshing notebooks since they're much harder to do and I certainly relinquish a good challenge.

My current hacks are described on my sig and I'm really happy with them right now, even if there's still a few unsolved issues on the Portege R830.
