  1. It seems problem to be solved with NVEnabler.kext installation!!!

Both default and -verbose mode works fine. I have not KP when launching Activity Monitor!

But now I confused : I have multiple messages "NVEnabler: probe fails" during boot process!

    dmesg:

    NVEnabler: init : begin

    NVEnabler: probe : probe

NVEnabler: probe : ROM shadow enable

    NVEnabler: probe : patch PRAMIN

    NVEnabler: DEBUG Setting property @1,device_type

    NVEnabler: DEBUG Setting property @0,name

    NVEnabler: DEBUG Setting property device_type

    NVEnabler::probe fails

Should I worry or this is normal!?

    Thanks

    Config:

    -Dell Latitude D820: Intel Core2Duo T5600/2GB DDR2/NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M 512 Mb/Dell 1395 wireless card (instead native intel 3945)

    -Mac OS X: iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) cd + Retail 10.6.3 + Chameleon 2 RC5 r665 + EDP 1.8(with powerpack) + ComboUpdate 10.6.7 + VoodooPowerMini.kext

  2. Adding PciRoot = 1 no effect - same problem.

Trying boot with 64 bit mode hangs up comp on blue screen after main boot screen (with apple logo)

If try boot with -verbose mode we can see next last two strings before hang up:

    ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - WARNING - LPC device initialization failed: C-state power management not initialized

  3. I don't known how to add specs to my signature for now (maybe later).

    So this is my config:

    -Dell Latitude D820: Intel Core2Duo T5600/2GB DDR2/NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M 512 Mb/Dell 1395 wireless card (instead native intel 3945)-

    -Mac OS X: iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) cd + Retail 10.6.3 + Chameleon 2 RC5 r665 + EDP 1.8(with powerpack) + ComboUpdate 10.6.7 + VoodooPowerMini.kext

  4. I found a tricky dependence between -verbose boot mode and kernel panic launching activity monitor!!!

I should expect kernel panic every time osx starts up with -verbose boot mode and if there is normal boot (graphical boot screen) - I have not kernel panic with activity monitor!

This is confirmed by few (about 10) tests: 7 - with default boot and no problem; 3 - verbose boot and kernel panic!

I think that is +1 step towards solving the problem, and I need your help, guys!!!

    Thanks!

  5. * Try without the powerpack..

    What did mean "powerpack"?

I use the latest EDP 1.8 package.

I just tried an interesting experiment: started up my comp with old version 10.0.0 patched kernel taked from old version iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) cd - problem's gone! (Except newly bluetooth crash).

Maybe patched kernel would be a solution but I would be interested in using vanilla kernels if it is possible.

  6. Hi all!

I am working on setting-up osx on my Dell Latitude D820 and disappointed about strange kernel panic running osx in multicore mode.

It happens when I trying to start System Monitor(ing) application to watch cpu and memory usage. Application even doesn't have time to show any system info - we have immediately kernel panic!.

Any other application runs perfect. :(

When I switch multicore support to disable mode in BIOS - everything works.

I have Intel Core2Duo T5600 CPU. I use VoodooTSCSync.kext for dual core support.

There is a list of used kexts:

    AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext

    IONetworkingFamily.kext

    AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

    NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

    AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext

    OSvKernDSPLib.kext

    AppleHDADisabler.kext

    SleepEnabler.kext

    ApplePS2Controller.kext

    VoodooHDA.kext

    Broadcom43XXFamily.kext

    VoodooPowerMini.kext

    FakeSMC.kext

    VoodooTSCSync.kext

    IOAudioFamily.kext

Also I have attached an jpg-image file with kernel panic stack trace

If anyone could help me I will be grateful to

    Thanks

  8. You wont get that to work under osx, the reason is, that the led light is activated from the driver, and support for that simply dosent exists in the driver, meaning your options is:

    1. Dont care about it and forget about it :)

    2. Write a new driver that works *good luck* :P

What about paragraph 2 - I was scared as soon as I heard about this!!!

I think I need to calm down ;)

I will act as you tell in par. 1 B)

    Thank you

  9. let me get it right...

Your wireless works, but you dont have a green light in the wifi icon on top of the keyboard.. did i understand you right ?

Yes, you did, that's right, - green wifi led (on the laptop display hinge, as well as others: hdd, battery, bluetooth)

    And wireless works

  10. sorry to tell you mate, but to get that to work, you will need support for it in the driver.. and we dont have that..

Many times i had read about successful work wifi on D820 Laptops with replaced native intel cards by dell1395 cards.

But I couldn't find on the internet such a problem with wifi led!

I just puzzled (sorry for my English) - doesn't anyone has similar problem, and Am I the only "lucky" guy with such a problem?

    Any chances?

    Anyway, thanks for reply

  11. Hi, can anyone help me to solve such annoying problem!!!

I need help with my "Dell 1395 wireless" card was put instead native "Intel pro 3945abg wireless" card!

Card dell 1395 works excellent, but the problem is wifi LED Indicator is inactive anyway!

    My Laptop: Dell Latitude D820 (NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M; Intel Core 2Duo T5600 1,8Ghz; RAM DDR2 2Gb).

Laptop has tumbler switch for both wifi and bluetooth module cards.

Also present wifi catcher technology (...Maybe that's cause?)

Install method: iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) + 10.6.3 Retail + OSXLATITUDE METHOD(Chameleon and last EDP) + Broadcom43XXFamily.kext.

Maybe I must attach some additional info - please tell me!

    With hope and best wishes,

    Ivan from Kyiv, Ukraine
