I recently installed Catalina using the guide from this website. Almost everything works but I noticed some issues. I wasn't sure if I should create three separate threads or keep everything in one. I decided for the latter. Here are the issues: - Disconnecting the laptop from the power source makes it freeze. It needs a hard reboot. - Despite Bluetooth being available and discovering my bluetooth devices, it is not able to connect to them. As a side note, the WiFi is working perfectly. - Despite installing Karabiner-Elements, whenever I press the F11 or F12 keys, the laptop would freeze. It needs a hard reboot. - Connecting laptop to an external display via HDMI works well, when unplugging it the laptop would freeze. It needs a hard reboot. I attached the debug file. Thanks for your help. Debug+IORegistry.zip

Great, that did the job. I generated a debug file but there was an error where "IOREG dump failed". Would the debug file still be useful for you?
-
Hello, First of all, thank you for your help in advance and for keeping this community running; your knowledge and assistance is truly appreciated. I would like to generate a debug file since I'm having issues with Bluetooth and Battery on my laptop; before I request help for those issues I need to generate a debug file. I get the attached error while trying to generate it. I am following this guide: I have disabled SIP in config.plist using 0x67. I attached the error report in Terminal. My laptop specs are on my signature.

I got a KP upon a fresh start. I was able to boot using "Select ACPI patching-> Tables Dropping->..." I still get the same error while using MacKextLight. All versions available for download are the same: Version 2.9.6.3.0, I am unable to patch EAPDFix.kext. Upon restart, eveything seems to be working fine. -

I was able to remove AppleHDA_ALC293.kext and AirportBrcmFixup.kext from /L/E. I repaired permissions and rebuilt cache. When I try to change EAPDFix.kex using MacKextLite I get an error. It was intillay set at "1". After restart, I am unable to save the changes to "3" due to the same error. Upon restart, sounds, WiFi and Bluetooth semm to be working fine. I'll do some more testing and report back any issues. Thank you. -

I have EAPDFix.kext in /Library/Extensions. Upon restart, sound is not working. When awakening laptop from sleep, sound will work most of the time, but sometimes Bluetooth and WiFi stop working after awakening. I have attached the requested debug file. debug_17589.zip -

Thank you for all your help and quick responses. My OS still 10.13 It seems that my wife didn't update the computer at all. Any ideas what might have caused the computer to crash? -

[SOLVED] E7470 - Unable to get to installation screen High Sierra
andradejose replied to andradejose's topic in The Archive
I replaced the kext folder from E7470_1.17.5_HS bootpack along with the new Config and DSDT/SSDT in the USB. The USB installer is loading perfectly with the above mentioned changes. I am able to boot the system with the USB, and noticed that WiFi and Bluetooth are broken. I replaced the kext folder from E7470_1.17.5_HS bootpack along with the new Config and DSDT/SSDT in the system EFI, updated the systems's Clover to 4411. I repaired permissions, rebuilt cache and got an error "AirportBrcmFixup.kext - dependency 'as.vit9696.Lilu" no found". Upon reboot, the system hangs on "++++++++++++" without other text. I am still able to boot the system using the USB. -

Replaced filed, repaired permissions, rebuilt cache and rebooted. Still get a KP. I am not able to boot using the "ACPI patching-> Tables Dropping->etc" option. I was able to replace the Config.plist and DSDT/SSDT with the original ones, I can now boot with "ACPI patching-> Tables Dropping->etc" option. -

Wow, you first advise got me back into my desktop in HS. Now the Audio, screen brightness control, Bluetooth and WiFi are not working anymore. I won't be attempting a new install. I would rather try to get the current install fully functional again. Can you please advise how to get them working? -

I have attached a screenshot of the KP of the broken HS install. I believe my wife might have updated to the latest HS version causing it to stop working. Any chance that installation is still salvageable? It says multiple times "EAPDFix: Failed to find Audio device HDEF" -

Unfortunately, I won't be able to update the BIOS. How do I export DSDT/SSDT? -
Hi, I had a fully working HS setup but all of a sudden it stopped working. I am in the process of re-installing Mac OSX. I lost the USB drive used for the initial install so I created a new one following what guides available here. I have used the latest Clover (4411), latest Lilu.kext, latest IntelGraphicsDVMTFixup.kext, and generic Sierra EFI and the Bootpacks E7470_1.17.5_HS.zip OR E7470_1.17.5_HS-alternate.zip at no avail. The installation freezes, I have attached my compressed EFI and a picture of the frozen screen for your review. Thanks. EFI.zip

Jake, forgive my ignorance . I'm a newbie when it comes to IT stuff. My Wi-Fi is finally showing up and working perfectly. Thank you very much for your advises, patches and your time. Just out of curiosity, how do you generate the patched files you uploaded?
-
Jake, I REPLACED your patched DSDT/SSDT in EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin along with the config.plist file but still no luck. FYI, Legacy Option ROMs in the BIOS has been always disabled. I enabled it after the patch but my laptop won't boot. I had to revert it back to disabled. Also, does it matter that I am booting Clover using "FileVault Preeboter from Preboot" instead of "Macintosh" HD? I have attached my new origin folder.
