  1. Thanks, took to consideration what you said and will let clover do its job (left C States and P States on). Will be getting a Shim for it soon once the last of the cosmetic parts arrive. I love this body style, too bad it did not get a 2nd gen intel series release. I do have a E5530 with a Intel HD Graphics sitting so i might play with that if i can. Thanks again, cheers.
  2. Hey, so i think i have everything dialed out. 1. GPU isn't stuck at high on idle. It now bounces from 1something to 279 on light task and sometimes 580 when its a heavy task like your gpu throttled post said it should. (i used the FSMC method) 2. My CPU is on x3 759 on idle. Is this okay? 3. I attached my Clover Config, FSMC and some screenshots. If you could take a quick look and see if i have to improve anything on those i would be grateful (: thank you again. E6400 160M.zip
  3. Going to reinstall but this time using my configured FSMC and Clove Config files instead ones provided from the guide.
  4. I have changed MBP5,2 to MBP5.1, set my bus speed, and frequency speed. I have to fix my sensor, but what is different is that my fan is changing speeds now. I am not sure why it started doing this, but now it does. I enabled c2, 4, 6, 7 maybe this broke my sensor.
  5. The clover config i got from a guide on here to install yosemite, I will try to configure it (after i learn how to) to my settings. Hopefully this fixes my GHz from going up and down dramatically.
  6. E6400 NVS160 Yosemite 10.10.5.zip
  7. Here is my FakeSMC, and Clover Config with some screenshots showing HWMonitor. Thanks for the help so far.
  8. Hey just figured something out. When i unplug my charger, my gpu core and memory drop from a constant 500 MHz and 399 MHz to a steady low 168 MHz & 100MHz . This is what is causing my heating issue while plugged in, it seems when i charge apple uses a completely different power management. I am using Fake SMC with AGPM injection. Also, if you could help me figure out how to drop the clocks from always being x3 759 (sometimes x10 2.53 GHz) (i am using MBP5,1 with SMC keys 1.33f8 and smc-mcp). I think to do this you have to do something with clover but am unsure.
  9. I have done all that after upgrading the cpu and changing the palm rest to a brand new one. I am going to try by tuning with fakeSMC, do you know a good setup for a t9550 with a 160M? or something identical to the models listed on your "Performance tuning with FakeSMC". It has to be the cpu since its always at x3 800 mhz.
  10. Reinstalling Yosemite again. Its a drag to learn all this, but i want too. So i'll keep on trying till it is working on point with no heating issue.
  11. I gave up on Yosemite, i am just going to install Sierra using your D630 guide.
  12. Having issues with Yosemite. I used this guide "E6400 Nvidia NVS 160M (not Intel GMA) Yosemite CLOVER Guide" 1st issue i'm running into is my laptop shuts off after it heats up. Using HWMonitor to see, GPU Die is the one that slowly crawls up till the computer shuts off. i tried going through posts under "E6400 Nvidia NVS 160M (not Intel GMA) Yosemite CLOVER Guide" and a couple people mentioned it but no one found a fix. I used Hervé post "nVidia GPU performance tuning with AGPM" to edit Info plist to see if it makes a difference. my second issue is when i close the lid on the E6400 the screen stays on. Is this a norm for the E6400? Sleep works when i press the button and/or when i use apple menu to put it to sleep.
  13. After a whole day of trial and error, i finally have Yosemite installed. I don't have a wifi card currently (using a LinkPal 6wireless usb i had around), going to get a 1510 off ebay eventually but i am still waiting on a couple cosmetic parts for the Latitude. Is it worth to install High Sierra? If it is i might just do it tonight.
  14. Ok, i have a 160GB External Hard Drive that has been sitting for a while. I'll see if it El Capitan lets me format this one. Thank you. I will be trying Yosemite for now to see if everything works then later installing High Sierra or downgrading to a less intensive OS version. Mind if you could explain E6400 bootpack, i tried to look for some info but only found actual dell forums on this. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the reply! I do have the model with the 160M, i have no idea why i did not say this. My bad. Quick question, I heard some people said you can install the OS directly into the hard drive. Is this possible for E6400? I have El Capitan running on VitrualBox (works great) but i do not have a flash drive with the 8gb required to make any usb installation work (my 32 micro to usb is getting an error when i try to format). Don't mind buying one, if i could do it another way it would save time.
