  1. Thanks ucupsz, that was lots of help.

Yes I was using your kext but I had multiple other failings.  This includes initially installing in safe mode, problems with the bootloader (as myhack would not run fully in safe mode).  Then of course I was trying to use Mavericks whereas really I should have stuck with ML.

In the end I recreated a ML installer with myhack and the kexts provided on the site here for T430, then I added your kext and the device string you use into the org.chameleon.boot.plist file.  I've only just completed a working install and now to check what does/does not work and performance test.

Are there any outstanding known problems like sleep/sound etc?

    on my T430:

    - sound is working using AppleHDA.kext, check this post: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1946-complete-applehda-patching-guide/page-5&do=findComment&comment=23794

    - sleep is working fine. the only issue is that after sleep i've known so far, it won't recognize any devices plugged into USB port.

    - usb3 works with GeneralUSBXHCI.kext. but from 2 usb 3 ports, only one works as superspeed (up ot 5Gb/s) and hi-speed mode, the other one only works in hi-speed mode.

    - keyboard, touchpad, and the red dot on keyboard works.

      the fn key works:

       - to wake-up from sleep as in windows

       - fn+F4 for sleep

       - fn+F10-12 for multimedia/itunes control

       - fn+P and fn+K for brightness control

       - PrtSc for activate-deactivate touchpad, handy when typing works.

    - for power management of CPU and GPU, i follow thread on other forum.

note: i use old bios (from year 2012) as it's the only one that has whitelist removed.

  2. Hi,

Can anyone help me with the same issue (high res T430).  Ive tried adding the above kext into my S/L/E folder but I still can't boot into a working desktop without running in safe mode.  Do I need to make any other modifications?

    Hi Tonyburn,

    1. which kext?

    2. you need to set the platform-id, either in org.chameleon.boot.plist or in your DSDT.

attach is my org.chameleon.boot.plist which use above AppleIntelFrameBufferCapri.kext.

    3. ensure to rebuild the kernel cache.

  3. Great,

    works for me !

My one is Lenovo T430 , feel free to contact me :chencxf12369 at gmail dot com

I installed 2 OS, one in external USB, another one in logical partition together with Windows 7 and another one Linux OS.

    Hi all,

basically the device-properties supplied was to set the platform-id to 0166-0004. in my T430 2349-A17, it's the only platform-id that gives proper resolution for my screen (1600x900).

the platform-id can be set using device-properties in org.chameleon.Boot.plist OR through DSDT edit. downside for using that platform-id is that we're limited to internal-screen (LVDS) only.

Now, I use platform-id 0166-0003 and make an edit to AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext that supposed to be in folder S/L/E. With that edit, i can use internal monitor (LVDS) and eksternal monitor that driven through mini display port.

i successfully use my DELL U2412M together with the internal screen (LVDS).

And I also successfully tried to use my old CRT monitor together with internal screen (LVDS).

both were using proper mini display port adapter.

(mini display port to DVI adapter and mini display port to VGA adapter)

attached is the file that i used. hope useful for T430 user.

note: in the Graphics/Display (System Information), the Device ID and revsion ID will always show 0166 0009,

even when we set the platform-id with different number. don't know why :)

  4. Wohoooo....

EMlyDinEsH, i'm following your guide for patching AppleHDA.kext in my installation, and it works!!

when i play a song through my internal speaker then plug-in my earphone, the sound automatically routed to my earphone.

last time with VodooHDA, i can't get that luxury. i need to manually switched in sound pref-pane.

so far, i'm testing for an output (internal speaker and headphone jack).

haven't got a chance to test for mic.

just in case someone else needed for his/her Thinkpad T430, the patched along with my scrapfiles during the process can be found on attachment (AppleHDA_T430_ML_1084_patching.zip). Installed the AppleHDA.kext from the download, and modified the DSDT in the installation with guide in the first page, then you should be set.

my thinkpad is T430 2349-A17 with mountain lion 10.8.4 installed using myHack method (myHack-3.2-BETA-8).

again, thanks so much EMlyDinEsH for putting all information into one easy to follow post.

    -----

audio issue after sleep (internal speaker) can be fixed using IOAudioFamily.kext from this post

  5. ok...
so i've tried the device-properties string, and it works!!! woaaa.. :)
    QE/CI is working.

but i still need to remove the DSDT from bootpack.
i'll supply my configuration to the request topic.

    thanks

  6. I've sent patched files so check with those.

    Hi,

Now is working pretty good for me, except for the normal thing, like Card reader and the wifi...

Your help was powerful, for me thank's again.

    hi all,

looks like the 1600x900 resolution was fixed with the patched.

can you share the file and do you use all the dsdt from bootpack or remove the dsdt?

i've the exact same problem... :(

    thanks.
