I took Herve's advice... pressed spacebar. I did see the flags -v -f I removed them, system booted into Apple logo with wheel spinning... stayed there for a very long time. Never went to login screen.
It takes me to the boot loader, I press enter on my HDD to boot into Mavericks - not using -v -f It goes directly into the scrolling pages of text. Just noticed that sound is not working either. Thanks for the link to wireless cards.
I was able to install Mavericks using this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6472-dell-latitude-e7240e7440-with-mavericks-1095-updated/
Installed fine. Boots from HDD as well - only thing is that it scrolls thru about a dozen scripts before prompting login screen. Also, my wifi does not work - I have an internal Intel wifi card.
I am using the Bootpack in Post #4 https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-yosemite-install-guide/ Using the patched kernel

I used Haswell 10.10.2 on usb installer. Now I can't get to the installer. I was typing graphicsenabler=no -x maxmem=4096 to load it, now this won't work. This is all I get: (This was happening before... using graphicsenabler=no -x maxmem=4096 would start installer though)
I apologize... I did type in /Volumes/"Macintosh SSD"/System/Library/Kernels/ Library had a small l in previous post... this returned no errors, brought me back to the -bash command. After I rebooted, still went into the boot loop.
