  1. Netkas has a 48xx exotic kext update for 10.8.x and it works fine for my 4850. Just make sure that you have the device ID's present in the two kexts.

I appear to have ML version 12A251. I have tried the Fantomas kexts labelled as version 12A269 but they do not work for me. I can't find any kexts by Netkas.

Tonight I will download the latest ML version (hopefully 10.8.2) and try the newer kexts by fantomas.

    Cheers for your help.

  2. As per title.

I've been trying to install ML using 3.1.2 but the installer just keeps rebooting before getting to the ML install screen.

I've been using myHack for over a year now on the same system with Lion.

I've tried putting the working Lion graphics kexts (ATIRadeonX2000.kext and ATI4800Controller.kext) into /s/l/e AND into the EXTRA folder and then running 'myFix'.

Nothing I do is changing the constant rebooting.

Is this a case of Mountain Lion absolutely under no circumstances being able to support the HD4850?

    Any help?

    Cheers.

    system in my sig.

  3. Problem was/is that I use GraphicsEnabler=Yes to get my gfx card working with my dsdt, but I have to set GraphicsEnabler=No for Lion 10.7.1 to now boot up, or do PciRoot=0, because the default PciRoot now sets itself to 1!

This now leaves me with a badly-functioning gfx card, odd resolution and Lion keeps crashing to the login screen.

Hmm.. Going to do a complete OS re-install and try again.

Specs in my sig. p.s. Lion 10.7 has been functioning perfectly well till I installed this update tonight.

  4. Has anyone got the 10.7.1 update working?

I installed the update, then re-installed chameleon from RC4 but now it just hangs at "nstat_lookup_entry :2".

Just wondering if it's anything to do with chameleon or whether it's something else.

    Cheers.

  5. Hi,

I'm from Yorshire, UK and have been using Hackintosh for only a few weeks now, so my hackintosh experience isn't so great just yet. Needless to say I've spent a ridonkulous amount of hours within those three weeks tweaking, googling and learning.

    Why did I go hackintosh?

I like good design and really wanted to see if Apple's physical aesthetics carried through into their OS. I also wanted a change from Windows and really hoped that Mac OS X was well/cleanly-coded and performed well. I haven't been disappointed yet. Being Unix-based is good too.

I've always wanted to try a Mac but I've never agreed with how much they charge for their tech. Maybe one day.

I have an Hons degree in Computers and have been a web developer for 8 years. My computer history -> Vic20, C64, Amiga, PC. Still own some C64's and an Amiga :P

-List any technical experience you have in various operating systems and programming languages (if any).

Hmm. I know a bit of 6510, C++, PHP, Javascript, Java and was server admin on multiple fedora red hat boxes a few years ago.
