  1. thanks Darvinko!

my card is Dell Wireless 1397 and it worked perfectly with 10.8.2.

post #397 doesn't work for me - new system does not detect the wifi hardware at all.

The migration to new Wi-Fi formats has broken some Wi-Fi cards, remind me of which card you have. Read post #397 above and try that to see if it works for you.

  2. hi all,

i updated working e6400 from 10.8.2 to 10.8.4 and lost my wifi. hardware is not detected any more.

I tried different kexts but no luck... did anyone experience the same problem? any advice?

    thanks!

  3. -x gives black screen as well ;-(

Try adding -x boot flag to see if it will boot in safe mode, also trying using a different USB port when booting. I assume you have the hard drive set at AHCI and bluetooth shut off?

  4. Darviniko thanks for all your advices!

I rebuilt usb key installer and I was able to install the system with 4300 bootpack.

but when i restart, i am getting kp.

if i select -v: it goes to black screen and i cannot see anything.

if i use 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes' - i get KP and i don't know what caused the panic.

    if i use 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v' i get black screen.

any idea what could be wrong?

  5. I did tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v -f, but KP happens when the installer switches into gray screen with apple logo. and there is no verbose mode.

I will rebuild the installer key and try again.

thanks a lot for your help Darvinko!

Also, try using with GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v -f. You indicated that would bring you so far before getting a KP. The verbose mode should tell you where it is KP'ing (what kext's might be causing the KP). Let us know so we can sort it out from there.

  6. Thanks Darvinko!

I followed all steps carefully, still black screen...

Do i need to use the 4300 bootpack?

it is listed under necessary things but later no instructions about it...

    thanks again

I'm sorry, I've been away for a few days and just read your posts. When you created your installer, did you remember to 1. Click on backup replaced kexts when adding the IOPCIFamily.kext and 2. Run My fix (from the my hack utility) after installing, remembering to choose the installer as being where you are running the my fix on. Then aften installing the three Edited NVIDIA kexts, again choosing to back them up in Kext Wizard and running both Extra and S/L/E repair under the maintenance tab? Failure to run my fix (and making sure it is on the installer, not the hard drive) after IOPCIFamily.kext and running Maintenance after 3 Edited NVIDIA kexts (again, make sure it is on the installer) will cause issues with your installation. Also, make sure you are REPLACING the kexts, not adding additional kexts! Let us know how it works.

  7. Dear All, I need some help:

I am installing 10.8 on E6400 with nvidia. I made USB installer with myhack. added:

    - Bootpack for M4300

    - IOPCIFamily.kext

    - Modified Nvidia kexts

installation starts and then (before apple grey screen) turns into black.

if I use 'Graphics Enabler=yes' then i can get to grey screen with apple logo, and then KP.

i tried different settings in bios - the same.

    any advice? thanks a lot!
