  1. I have been succesfull installing OSx on variouse PC's and laptops.

Now I have a Packard Bell EasyNote TJ75-GM-520 of a friend I like to install OSx on.

With Mthack I have made the installation USB no problem.

At start it al seems to go right Boot with -v -f

But the system seems to get stuck on just after the AirPort_AtherosNewma40: Ethernet address xx:yy:xx:yy:xx:yy

IO80211Controller::dataLinkLayerAttachComplete():  adding AppleEFINVRAM notinfication  (this is the last line)

Does one of you know what I can do to solve this?

    machine spec's:

    CPU: Intel Core i3 330M

    chipset: INtel HM55

    GPU : INtel GMA 500

    WLAN: Atheros AR5B93

I hope one of you can provide me with some feedback.

    Robert.

  2. Sorry, your LAN interface is not listed there, only your wireless... Depending on your actual HW, you may want to try these other kexts, knowing that they may require patching to match your LAN card's PCI ids: AppleIntelE1000 or Intel82566MM.

In system profile under software/extensions I see that the AppleIntelE1000e is loaded but with version 1111 of 23/1113 00:42 YES Not Signed.

Could it bee that the system does load a wrong version from a other position?

Is it the right version 1111 <> 2.5.4d?

    thanks,

In the System/Library/Extensions folder I do not see this kext

  3. This is what the terminal command gives me:

That tis the one I have in my extra/extension folder version 2.5.4d

  4. I have a Dell E6410 running for some time now and from the beginning I have a issue with the LAN.

When I start the system LAn works just fine.

But when I'm transferring files from the Dell to my Mac Mini every now and then the transfer stops and also getting stuff from the WEB is not possible any more.

The LAn settings still seem to be the same.

The only option I have found is to restart the DELL and then the LAN works again.

Does any of you had this problem before and knows how to solve it?

    I'm at 10.9.2

    thanks,

  5.  I have mine D630 up and running again after a video breakdown.

Mine is running with Bios A17 but I see that some of you are running with Bios A18!

On the Dell site I see that A17 is the last version.

Where to download the A18 version and what are the advantages over the A17?

    thanks,

  6. put the querry in ebay you will get tons of options. some are clear some are rosin based liquids.

I have found the product but can you please explain what this would do?

As mentioned I have had mine mobo in the oven twice before and that did the trick.

I did not use any no clean liquid flux.

Would the no clean liquid flux help the with better re-flowing?

Also to keep the system control the temperature better would a additional fan control app in OSX help.

I would be able to set a higher lower fan speed so that the system would bet a better cooling also at the lower fan speed as this would be higher that what it is at this moment.

It could also have the option of setting the max fan speed at a lower high temp. so the system will start cooling harder even at a lower temperature.

Does one of you have experiences with that?

    thanks,

  7. i replaced the blue heatsink pads with copper shims  as big as would fit in the gpu area. and some arctic silver on both sides of it. i used some pieces of copper from some heatsinks i had laying around. also make sure the fan is running smooth and not noisy. i also used no clean liquid reflow flux when i had to repair my mobo's. it helps "re wet" the bga solder.

    Thanks for the replay.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the "no clean liquid re-flow flux?

So fare I have re-backed mine in the oven at 200C for 8 minutes.

  8. Thanks for the replay.

For sure this would help but I'm wondering if others have the same problem with the Nvidea chip breaking down due to heat.

Are they running the D630 systems 4 to 5 hours a day? how come that mine keeps breaking down.

Is their a setting that would increase the fan speed to keep the system running at a lower temp?

  9. I have two Dell D630 systems both with the Nvideau video chip.

The first system I had twice in the oven to reflow to get the video working again.

The system is out of order due to the heat of the video for some time now. Did not do the reflow for the third time.

The second system has the same problem now as well.

Video stopped and I have to reflow it to get it working again.

When I do the reflow it will work for a nother 3 to 6 months but what can I do to kool the video processor better to keep the system running for 2 years or so?

Does one of you has a good tip that does work for you?

I love the Dell D630 but when it keeps breaking down on me it is not the right way.

    thanks,

What have you done to keep the temperture of the GPU under control?

  11. All,

    I have one new issue.

When connected to my network by cable the connection with the network gets lost every now and then.

I have the DHCP setting to auto and all is filled out correctly only a reboot of the E6410 will get my ether net back.

I loss connection to other Mac's in the home network as well connection to the Internet.

Does one of you seen a similar problem and was able to fix it?

    thanks,

  12. I have my E6410 up and running with Mavericks and it works just fine.

My last Hack I had to back 3 times in the oven as the Nvidea GPU would un-flow  it self.

I do not like this to happen to my E6410 so I installed iState menus to show me the various readings.

Only on the temperature side it only shows the hard disk temp. No CPU, non Mem, no GPU.

Does one of you know a good tool that would display more then only the hard disk temp.

I assume the I5 and the Nvidea 3100 both have temp sensors on board.

    thanks,

  13. Hang tight.

I hope to add a fix for Shutdown/DSDT and the -f issue later on today (check back at about 1600 Eastern Time)...

    Great.

SD card reader is working and soon shutdown will do the same.

Now I only have to find a kext for the 1520 Wifi card.

  14. Hi Brainlobe,

In order to have the shutdown working properly, you will need to patch the DSDT. At least worked for me.

You can find a patched DSDT.aml for Latitude E6410 in the topic of Patel4Prez to install the Mountain Lion. The link is below:

    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1695-e6410-mountain-lion-guide/

Search for the file "E6410 ML 10.8.4.zip", extract the DSDT.aml file and save it in /Extra of your Mavericks installation.

After this, you need to edit the "/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist" and insert the lines below:

    <key>DSDT</key>

    <string>/Extra/DSDT.aml</string>

You can use the Chameleon Wizard that's easier to edit the "/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist" file.

After, just reboot to read the DSDT.aml configs. Try to shutdown and check if it works for you.

    Hope it helps!

    Thanks,

    Pablo Iglesias

    Pablo,

I have done whet you wrote but had some issues.

The system will only boot when I boot it with -f.

Then shutdown functions, sleep looks to work but the power button stays ON and the van keeps on running and keeps blowing warm air even after 3 to 4 minutes.

I took out the lines in the plist file kept the aml file in the Extra folder and the system had to be started with -f.

What could be the case of this?

    thanks,

  15. All,

Does one of you has Shutdown working already  :?.

    Reboot does work.

At shutdown the screen does black but the power LED and BT LED stay on.

Only pressing the power button for 5 to 7 seconds does really shuts down the laptop.

Is their something I can test for one of you that has experience with this kind of issues?

  16. The IOBluetoothFamily kext has been completely changed, so the kext from 10.8.4 is of no (re)use... Read my post about it. Look up your BT module in the USB part of the System Report and report that back. In all likelihood, it'll be a DW350 or DW360 and I can easily provide you with the patched kext to place in /E/E after update to 10.8.5.

You'll find the PCI ids of the above modules in the 'Bluetooth for D Series' thread in R&D->Wifi/bluetooth section.

Thanks for the feedback but for what I can see my BT is still working after the update.

When I see a problem I will come back to this.

    thanks,

  17. If you have a Bluetooth module, that may stop working until you repatch the appropriate IOBluetoothFamiliy PlugIns. Apart from that, it's totally safe.

How do I know what IOBluetoothFamily Plugin I need?

BT is now working on 10.8.4. should I copy this pluin out before the update and then re-install it?

    thanks

  18. All thanks for the input.

After 10 attempts I have put my Carbon Copy of the 10.5.8. back to the system.

I only had kernel panics and could not find a half descent installation guide.

10.5.8. runs rock solid so I will stick to that.
