Cards that work with OS X and don't
Do work:
Broadcom 4322 or 4321 wi-fi cards work natively with OS X
Don't work:
Atheros 5007 (From Macbook Pro 2007)

I bought an $8 Broadcom 4311 on ebay. Rebranded it in Linux as and original Apple AirPort Extreme card and it got recognized as Apple AirPort Extreme with broadcom chip 4312. Ever since then I never had problems with it, works great in both SL and Lion.
It's basically this right?
What wireless networks does it support?
Could you tell me how you re branded it?

I was able to get it to show me Wi-Fi networks but I didn't try to connect to any. I used (http://projectcamphor.mercurysquad.com/downloads/) Hopefully this works. Just use kext helper and install it. After you do that immediately open up network settings and it should appear (10.6.3 I believe) I don't know if it will update to 10.6.8 I don't think this is worth it either as only unsecured networks work (b+g).

Great to hear I got it to work somehow too, It worked with screen flow! which is so weird now that think of it!
