  1. Update

Ran the standard my hack and their extra folder last night, however when you get the option to choose your own extra folder located the osx version for my xps and again the same warning to close my machine down came up.

It has surely to be something in that boot pack, help people....

  2. ok

so ran the repair, still the same issue, re-created the boot pen and still same issue. I decided to try standard my hack extra folder and it loaded, although obviously with issues, no wifi, and when you go back to reboot its a black screen.

this makes me wonder if its not something thats in the standard my hack extra folder but isnt in the m1330 bootpack?

    help as always appreciated

  3. Will do as will update, thanks Bronx

hmm weird, run a full my fix on the usb or remake the pen an tell it where your extra is instead of replacing it, it's needed to inject proper kexts into S/l/E

  4. Hi all

So I've used my hack 3.1, created the boot pen, switched extra folders and tried to load onto my xps m1330 and it very quickly stalls and tells me to power down, hasn't got past that point. Help

Didn't have this issue when using older my hack on d630 so not sure why it won't load

    Dear wishbone,

You can still boot into your windows if you install os x into your existing linux partition. Chameleon will only install the mbr and the rest is in the os x partition.

For snow leopard 10.6 you can install it to your mbr hard disk. However, if you intend to install lion 10.7 make sure you prepare your usb installer using myhack so that you can install os x into mbr hard disk.

    Cheers!

  6. morning all

firstly thanks for putting the EDPs for my m1330 machine, but now they are there i want to go and load osx onto my dell, however i don't want to wipe my windows partition if i can help it.

its currently split in two with ubuntu on one partition and win on the other, im looking to sacrifice ubuntu for OSX and want to know if i can boot into that partition from the usb pen and not affect my windows partition???

    many thanks in advance

  7. So am I right in thinking that if I follow the d630 download and add the two Kexts mentioned below I should end up with OSx on my m1330?

When and where do I add the kexts?

    John

Yes =X3100. No way with 64-bit.

My Dell 1330/X3100 run fine 32-bit 10.6.8, with the D630 DSDT, and the 2 Netkas forum kexts.

If I remember correctly you need the kext for eth: BCM5772D.Kext.

    SMBIOS MB 4.1

    Now I am running 10.7.1.

  8. Thanks for that clarification Bronx.

Therefore would I be right in thinking that using the d630 method which is all on a USB pen would work, giving me a 32 bit osx?

How do I get a 64 bit osx machine?

What about iboot (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) and multifail? They claim to work with any core2 machine?

    Thanks in advance

  9. Hi there

First of all thanks to the site, helped me set up my friends d630, i've managed in the past to set up a mini 10v but that was fairly straight forward as there is a group solely focused on that.

I've just got the XPS m1330 as mentioned above and want to ideally put both ubuntu and SL on to it but mainly SL, what i'm not sure is what is the best way to do it, i like your methods with the latitudes but i don't know if they will work with my xps?

I have the intel wifi card so will replace that for the broadcom one which i think should work? again i'm not sure if it will but from all the blogs it would seem to..

Any help would really be appreciated.

    Regards

    John
