On a different asus laptop I found that the latest elan driver would not work in /extra but rather had to be installed in s/l/e

 

when in /extra the keyboard worked but the touchpad didn't

A: Apart from the standard tip to turn on AHCI mode in BIOS, if it does not exist, find a matching kext for your IDE controller. Or you can try booting with the key NoCaches. Loading will be slowed down because the controller needs more time to be initialised.

This issue arises only when Clover and the OS are on different devices.

 

Maybe you can try to install Clover on your OS X partition. When you'll boot OS X, your SATA controller should be already initialised by Clover and you should not have this issue anymore... Theoretically....

 

Clover IS installed in the efi partition.. there is only 1 hard drive, it was formatted through diskutility as 1 GUID table HFS+ partition (which of course still creates the second small efi one, I can mount this manually or with clover configurator once booted to osx under chameleon)..

 

System is 100% functional (including sleep and power management on the cpu and gpu) with chameleon (other than thunderbolt and having to boot using a USB stick).. The SSDT and DSDT were created on the same machine under clover and 10.9.1.. the config.plist is a cleaned up version that worked under 10.9.1

 

I recently switched from voodoo ps2 to the elan touchpad driver since it supports gestures..  I also have  a default display override set up just incase the laptop display is not detected..

 

I'm sure I can clean up the DSDT even further as I learn more.. but first thing is first...

 

What I have noticed is that the lockup is not always exactly the same.. sometimes I will get an extra line printed.. sometimes it will crash with part of the line displayed, sometimes a line less.. so my gut feeling is that its something prior to the last thing being dsplayed thats causing the issue..

 

booting with or without caches is almost the same.. with caches off it gets a line ot 2 farther consistently but thats it.. I know 10.9.2 and onward basically has a sort of built in graphics injector that can ovveride some of the graphics settings.. unfortunately I don't have a complete copy of the nvidia drivers (10.9.1) to test it.. (i have nvda* but not the ge* ones from 10.9.1)..

 

I'm not sure what else critical was changed in 10.9.2

 

also I do not have a restore partition set up..

 

I also found out under chameleon, the elan touchpad driver does not work right when its in the /extra folder it has to be in s/l/e

Did you try booting without caches ? This solves the "waiting for ...." issues on my HP laptop".

BTW use vanilla kernel with Clover and set KernelPM to true in config.

Hi guys, I have a asus g750 and i'm currently running mavericks via vmware, but i wont to run it natively. So i was wondering if there was someone to help me get this working, I've seen other guides but i got and error when trying.

google is your friend.... its not going to be easy.. You should be able to get 10.9.1 self booting.. I've only been able to get it to work with chamelion and 10.9.2 using a usb stick for the initial boot..

you can try VLC or an older dvd player app. there should be one floating around the forum some laptops need it

I have vlc player installed and it works fine.. The  laptop is not mine and I am trying to make the experience for the person as close to a real mac as possible... It probably some type of license issue so I figure there has to be a permissions patch out there somewhere.. I'm jus glad I fund a system definition the Qe/CI is working 100%.. I was about to give up!

I finally have a system working nearly 100% under chamelion (I still can not get it to boot with clover), I have 1 small issue... To get full Qe/Ci graphics accleration I need to use an iMac14,2 profile Otherwise things like quicktime do not work.. I am guessting since an iMac doesnt have an optical drive, its not "authorized" to play dvds.. How can I get the system to play real dvds or mounted isos.. It just says not permitted,, if I use another mac type.. the dvd layer plays but its all garbage and things like quicktime are all screwed up..

0GB or 2GB is only cosmetic problem. (There is no way that you can boot with a Graphics card 0MB). Just make sure QE/CI has been working fully. I think you should create a new 10.9.2 installer with Clover. If your config.plist can boot to installer, you can boot to OS X too.

I was never able to get a bootable clover installer. I think I tried every option I saw out there.. I was going to try and build another one with the abovementioned..  my last install with 10.9.1 I also did with chamelion  and just installed clover and it worked. Qe/ci wasn't working . At the time. I also figured it was cosmetic but didn't know the ramifications of that info being wrong.

Just a note, you have to use patched mach_kernel which matches your OS x version if you use Chameleon.

I'm using a patched 10.9.2 as you can see from the screen dump its Darwin 13.1.0.. I'm at a loss.. under 10.9.1 I didn't have to set any boot flags with clover other than the flag to use the nvidia web drivers if I wanted. If I get to the point where the is comes up do I need to set an edit or will clover figure it out? Is it also better to have clover figure ncap and the other cfg  :)string or do it myself. Under 10.9.1 my setting showed it as a built in screen where without any injection it didn't but then I had to also specify a vram setting of 2g otherwise it showed as 0 

What is your usable graphics card? HD 4600 with nVidia Optimus? or nVidia only?

 

EDIT: It's nVidia only, no HD4600. Do you have full QE/CI with Chameleon?

 

FYI: nVidia 765M on Dell Alienware can be used with Clover by setting Inject nVidia=true and Inject EDID=true.

 

Yeah I belive its nvidia only, with 10.9.1 I was also able to use the hacked web drivers..... I haven't been able to get chamelion to do QE/CI, Didn't work with clover on 10.9.1 either but I did not try to inject EDID.. I'll be sure to try that as soon as I can get it to boot with clover..

vietnam tool was of no use.. but did no damage.. I also tried Slytherin.. had to back out the changes as it wouldn't boot with chamelion..  Here is a screen shot of where I'm Stuck when tryng to boot with clover..

 

Any help would be appreciated.. This laptop did boot with clover on 10.9.1 so I know its possible some how...

 

Haswell does not use AICPM, and you should use original mach_kernel with Clover, Clover will patch it correctly.

 

Here are unnecessary things for Clover:

 

patched mach_kernel (use vanilla kernel instead)

NullCPUPowerManagement (useless on Haswell)

already removed nullcpupower management, I said AICPM by mistake... . no difference with patched or vanilla kernel.. once I get it working I'll end up using the vanilla kernel but until then the only way I can boot is with chamelion and a patched kernel..

 

I think I can remove AHCI_3rdParty_SATA but haven't done that yet.. REMOVED

 

I also realised I have GenericUSBXHCI.kext installed.. I havent tried to remove that one yet..

Use hackintosh vietnam tool to create a config.plist suit your laptop, then try again.

I figured out the correct drop settings, also found out under 10.9.2 most hardware is natively supported.  bt firmware uploader not needed. Just had to add device Id for Wi-Fi. Also the Ethernet now works without ALXEthernet. I removed applecpupower management  NullCPUPowerManagement since I copied the created ssdt.aml right now I temporarily removed the battery and backlight because one of them is causing intermittent lockups using chameleon.  Still locks under clover as above. Ill take a look at your program.

I have a Asus G750Jw-db71 laptop.  

 

I have 3 questions... What is the correct correct config.plist info for dropping th built in SSDT tables and using a patched one created by SSDTPRGEN.. I can't seem to find a complete answer and see alot of conflicting info..

 

Its not clear by the wiki, but if you use a patched DSDT (I have one with only the battery patched suggested by rehabman to support battery status) does clover still perfom patching of areas that are not patched or is the patching section skipped?

 

lastly..

 

I had this laptop working under cover using 10.9.1 (well mostly couldn't get QE/CI working) diecided to install 10.9.2 it failed.. Played with it and ended up doing a fresh install using chamelion..  I can boot using the chamelion USB stick and boot 10.9.2 but with clover, it hangs immediately.. if I use verbose It usually fails at

I usually also see during verbose booting "name" is not a kext..

 

 

I only have the following extra kexts installed. in the 10.9 directory

These all worked on previous install..

 

I tried the obvious (booting without casches, safe mode ect).. Initially under chamelion I had to boot without caches until I ran kext utility..

 

I am using a patched 10.9.2  (xcpm) kernel so that I can boot with chamelion.. Clover did not boot with an unpatched kernel.. Stuck in same place.. Any ideas? Is there a way to create a detailed log that I can share...

 

 

 

 

According to the log, you have IOBluetoothFamilyxxx kext issue which is not patched properly or having some issues. PM me for beta testing with your device ID's.

My card is id as VID: 13d3  PID: 3404,  the card is not seen under bluetooth tap in about this mac.. I tried the newest beta.. DO I need an unmodified iobloothfamily kext or one thats patched with the above vid/pid.. thanks

 

 

Under USB I see Broadcom USB bluetooth 4.0 controller (azurwave CE123h)

I edited the kext as per the bluetooth kext.. it said to edit

 

For this, edit the file "Info.plist" from "IOBluetoothFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/BroadcomBluetoothHCIControllerUSBTransport.kext/Contents/" and include the code below to the section "IOKitPersonalities".
