So, step 1 on the road to a solution:
With your dsdt is located in the USB Stick's /Extra, the internal drives are not visible on the installer / disk utility.
Only when I take it out I can see them and format. Is this helping ? -
Will try over the weekend... I had to step back for a while.
thanks for all your help chef !
-
Still not working..
PciRoot=4.You think wiping the HD and starting from scratch will help ?
-
When I boot with -v ?
The output runs very fast for me to decipher.I'll try to video-record it and pause to see
-
Placed - the machine booted to the dreaded Stop Sign that's started this ...
-v DSDT=/Extra/XPS420_dsdt.aml
shows that:
-
So... the card is identified... yet still 1024 ! ASSSUUUUUUUS !!!!!!
-
Boss, thanks for everything.
I replaced org.chameleon.Boot.plist.zip with yours = didn't work
Tried typing PciRoot=4 in Chameleon Boot - nothing.
I tried adding your code to DSDT but can't seem to compile it.
I added my Freshly extracted DSDT (Via DSDT Editor) to my DropBox under DSDT Extract.
See if you can assist. Thanks !
one more thing -
On my DELL BIOS options, I can choose for Video Card
PCI or PEG. I tried both, neither works. Does it matter ?
-
OK - removed the dsdt.aml that I had in /Extra,
rebooted, re-extracted IOSReg.
Also, there's an smbios.plist file I'm using - mainly to give my machine a serial number so I can use TeamView.
This file is also in Dropbox.
thanks !
-
Noted on the PCI vs Pci. Fixed - yet still not working.
Upped the new IOSRegistry output to the Dropbox folder
BTW, can I expect the HDMI output to work with audio ?
thanks

Chef,
thanks for the tips and help.
I tried changing PCIRootUIT=1-4 in org.chameleon.Boot.plist.
To no avail
Here's a link to a swamp of riddles - all my hackintoshly goods:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bif0d9p118g1ulq/RSl3gg2VWG
Folder Contents:
• dsdt.aml / dstdt.dsl - Extracts with DSDT Editor
• EggFactory Mac Pro - IORegistryExplorer output
• Extra Folder Screen Shot
• org.chameleon.Boot.plist
• TXT doc of S/L/E - I noticed there are some GeForce + NV kexts. Should they stay ?
• Last, dsdt folder which contains the CURRENT dsdt - I got it online. I'm sure it's not 100% compatible.
Another question - Is it necessary to install CUDA / Nvidia drivers ?
thanks !

Looks like an Asus EN210 / DI / 512mb

Updates ! Updates !
OK. managed to get the sleeping beauty to wake up.
I had a little AHCI-kext bonanaza. Also added a dsdt.
HOWEVER -
Video is 1024
No ethernet.
Any ideas ?
Will yank the video card and see - however this machine was a functional SL machine 3 years ago,
until someone bricked it with a careless system update. So I know the video card worked fine.
-
Thanks.
Here's my Setup:
Mobo: Dell XPS420, BIOS A07
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad 2.4GHz
Memory: 2GB DDR2 667mhz, ML (in progress)
Drives: System Drive: WD 2TB (Partitioned to 2)
Video Card: Asus (not sure which)
Network - on-board ethernet.
-v hangs in "Still Waiting for Root Device"Boot Options - BIOS - I have "Sata Operation" with
RAID Autodetect / ATA or RAID on
The weird thing is that even though on the boot sequence I can see my internal drive - and I could also install ML on it.
But now for some weird reason if I boot using myHack, the internal drive is not showing,
can't see the drive in Disk Utility / myHack utility.
thanks !
-
Installed ML on a Dell XPS 420, using myHack.
The installer worked fine. After the first "Solo" boot, I hit the "Stop / Prohibitory Sign" -
I'm pretty sure it relates to the AHCI / SATA setup which is not available on the Dell BIOS Setup.
Any chance of setting this straight ?
thanks

Just finished a clean install... T.G.I.F&B - BEER !
I punch this is the boot prompt:
DSDT=/Extra/xps420_dsdt.aml PciRoot=4 -f UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v.
and get the dreaded "waiting for root drive" or his pretty twin, the STOP SIGN.
