Sooooo now, out of the blue (literally working one min and not another) my Magic Trackpad is not fully working. Single, double and triple taping or dragging do nothing. Anyone seen this before?
-
Ok, try this one
Back to everything working correctly except the SD card reader.
-
Have you tested it with a port replicator (dock) to see if the VGA or DVI ports off of the replicator work?
-
@adriandb, can you send me a raw DSDT for your system?
Boot with DSDT=0, then extract DSDT with MACIasl or ChameleonWizard.
Thanks again.
-
I took the plunge on Yosemite, and tried your DSDT and SDXC kexts to no avail.
Im going to start a Yosemite thread to keep these seperate, but wanted to let you know the Card Readers not working with what you provided.
Dave
Good to know you got Yosemite working on this machine. I may have to try that soon.
-
Try this dsdt.aml.zip
Thanks for taking the time to help with this. When I tried this dsdt my trackpad stopped working, the keyboard only partially worked and the SD card still didn't work. I may just have to live without the SD card, which is fine. Thanks again.

Also, when I open up kext wizard and click on the "Loaded" section there's nothing related to SD at all. Not sure if it's actually loading.
-
SLE or EE would both work. Check to see if it's disabled in the BIOS.
It works with VoodooSDHC.kext installed, but then the machine locks up if it sleeps. Frustrating, but I've lived without it for this long.
-
Here you go, same version for 10.9.4 and 10.9.5 is you plan to upgrade.
Ugh, still not working. I'm using kext wizard to put this back in SLE, is that correct or should I just be putting this in Extras?
-
What OS are you running, I'll send you my patch to test.
10.9.3. Thank you!
As a side note, has anyone upgraded to 10.10? If so, what method did you use and what issues were encountered?
-
Try this
perl -pi -e 's|pci14e4,16bc|pci1217,8221|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSDXC.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleSDXC
No love... The system profiler is still reporting that I don't have an SD card reader. I used to have Windows on this machine in a dual boot setup and the SD card reader worked fine there. Hmmmmm...
-
The VEN/DEV will not be the same. For my E6420/E6430/6430U, it's pci1217,8221
Mine is 1217 8221 as well, but I'm not having any luck. I'm just editing the plist of the kext directly in the /System/Library/Extensions/ directory. Am I doing anything wrong?
-
merci bien de votre assistance

The idea is not to patch the binary, but the Info.plist of the kext so that it matches the id of your own SD card reader.
https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7346-applesdxc-sd-card-driver-on-e7440/
The instructions indicate that the OP patched his binary. Is this unnecessary?
The driver matches on IOName, which has a default value of pci14e4,16bc.
This needs to change. First I patched the binary driver AppleSDXC with
the following perl script.
perl -pi -e 's|pci14e4,16bc|pci1217,8520|g' AppleSDXC
Next you need to modify the following section of Info.plist from
-
Where should the AppleSDXC binary live?
-
This is great news! Can't wait to try it.Folks, to get SD Card reader working without killing sleep, try this
Credit goes to joe82.
The VEN/DEV will not be the same. For my E6420/E6430/6430U, it's pci1217,8221
You could skip the DSDT edits, it'll work fine without it. Enjoy!

Everything is okay but one function is not work. It is woke up from sleep, always black screen.
I only ever saw this issue when I loaded the VoodooSDHC.kext. If you have that in your extras try removing and then running myFix again and rebooting. You'll lose the SD card reader, but you'll have the ability to sleep the system.
-
For what it's worth, my dvi works on my docking station. I only used the extras from pepto's guide.
Did you use herve's extras?
No mine is different. My processor isn't the same as his I don't think. Is it likely related to the .kexts or the DSDT?
-
What OS X are you using? I am on 10.9.4
I'm running 10.9.3. So you suspect that 10.9.4 may have broken the camera?
-
Any fix or kext for the camera? Mine is reported as this in the system profile:
Laptop_Integrated_Webcam_HD:
Model ID: UVC Camera VendorID_3141 ProductID_25651
Unique ID: 0x1a1500000c456433
Also, my camera is reported as a different model.

So it would seem that no one has a working camera on the e6320?
Mine works in QuickTime, Skype, Photo Booth, etc.
That would be appreciated. For what it's worth, my dvi works on my docking station. I only used the extras from pepto's guide.
Did you use herve's extras?
I did this so long ago that I don't remember what I used. Much or all of what I tried is documented in this thread though. My Extra is attached.
The output of a lspci -nn Terminal command on adrianb's E6320 would be useful too, to compare hardware.

Does DVI out via a port replicator (dock) work on this machine following this install method?
-
AFAIK I didn't do anything special to get my webcam working, it just works. I'm happy to post my Extras folder that I'm using if you're interested.

Thanks! While I can't disable it via the Bluetooth prefpane it did just randomly start working again.
