Hi@all,
a small Update from my Side.
HDMI and HDMI Audio is working fine, Streaming to Apple TV as well.
And since the patched HDA Kext for 10.9.2 the Audio is clear as normal.
Sleep works also.
Cheers

Hi veedub89,
I had tried your plist earlier when I tried your AppleHDA, and it didn't work then either.
that's weird as I have exactly the same Audio Device.
lspci -vnn 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller [8086:1c20] (rev 04) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device [1028:0493]
I use Jake Lo's patched HDA for E6420 and 10.9.2 from here and all Audio devices except the Headset Mic are working.
Did you tried Jake Lo's Extra Pack for (my) i5 as I got KP with Nolen's Package as well.
If not give it a try. It's possible you need to changed the display resolution and I don't know if the NVS Chip will stay active
as the Pack was for HD3000.
If it works you need to update the HDA after installing 10.9.2.

The Dameon only works for some people. just ignore it then.
Noted. What is normally the Job of the Daemon, do you know this?
Thx
Lars

It is a slightly updated version. If it isn't a big deal just copy it to /usr/bin next time you get a chance.
Hi Nolen,
I have experimented a bit with VoodooPS2 stuff.
If I copy your VoodooPS2 kext to E/E Pad and Stick are working fine.
If I activate the VoodooPS2Daemon in /usr/bin (copied the missing launch script "org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.Daemon.plist" from the actual VoodooPS2 Package to /Library/LaunchDaemons) my Touchpad and all buttons are not working at login screen , the Stick works .
Means, extra Mouse needed for clicking.
If I log in all is working normal.
Found this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/296441-voodoops2-problems/ but I don't have an Account there to download stuff and test.
Do you know if an running Daemon is needed ?

Howd you do the dedicated extra thing? Thatd be cool if you figured that out.
I added another folder to the root of my USB Install/Boot Stick (name the folder like you want) and have placed your "Extra" folder inside this new folder.
At the end of the installation I have chosen this "Extra" folder for MyHack.
Maybe this doesn't work like it should be but I didn't get any errors or warnings during installation instead of the one in root.
But im kinda confused, my boot pack was idwbticke to jake lo'subtracting a newer fakesmc which shouldnt cause any problem. Huh. Figures. You knoow though you may be right, sometimes when I do something that jake does, it doesnt/sorta works. I did call in a warranty recenttly where they replaced ALOT of stuff. I wonder if they did a silent upgrade of some stuff?Maybe the Processor is the one which causes trouble as I have an i5.
Anyway, 10.9.2 works fine and the new HDA Kext inside S/L/E is working and shows the Audio Devices in the right language.
Now I have to learn how to use OSX.
Nolen, do I need the VoodooPS2Daemon from your install pack ?
Cheers

...no headphone out for some strange reason...
All my audio devices, except the mic from a iphone headset, are working well
Nolen, maybe we have slightly different systems as when I use your Extra Pack (as a second Extra Pack in a dedicated folder) with my existing boot/install usb stick I get a kernel panic if I choose your Extra Pack at the end of the install process.
...or maybe this is something which is not supported that way.
Note, PhotoBooth is working OOTB.
Thx2all
Lars
-
@queper no need to replace your extra with this one, yours is almost as up to date. Maybe just compare it to yours as it contains a newer FakeSMC and a couple of other things...
...will do.
Thx

Did you add HDAEnabler=Yes to boot.plist?
Yes I did.
Lars
-
Get latest patch here. Will require latest Chameleon and HDAEnabler added in boot.plist.
Found it there and got it working again
Still using Chameleon from MyHack 3.3.1.
Thank you very much for this.
Lars -
No, use this instead for the Exx20 models.
Well done. Works for my E6420.
Got "IntSpeakers" and "DevShortNameMic" as working Audio Devices back

Hi,
the same happens with my e6420.
See here for details https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6192-installing-mavericks-on-dell-latitude-e6420/page-2
and here https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6064-applehda-kext-idt-92hd90bxx111d76e7-for-mavericks-1092-beta/ for an possible 10.9.2 Beta HDA Patch (for IDT Audio) which is not working for me.
Lars

it is usually best practice to relocate or remove the apple kext in S/L/E ...
Thx for this info.
I have renamed the original HDA kext but Audio is still not working after myfix.

Hi,
here are some kext messages from /var/log/system.log.
Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.AppleSmartBatteryManager, v161.0: already have prelinked v1111.0. Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.AppleRTC, v2.0: already have prelinked v1111.0. Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Notice - new kext com.apple.driver.KextExcludeList, v1.20 matches prelinked kext but can't determine if executables are the same (no UUIDs). Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.KextExcludeList, v1.20: already have prelinked v1111.0. Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB, v8.2.4: already have prelinked v1111.0. Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, v216.0: already have prelinked v1111.0. Feb 28 07:07:49 localhost kernel[0]: Refusing new kext com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform, v2.0: already have prelinked v1111.0.
I have placed the 2.6.0 AppleHDA kext in /E/E and run "my fix", is this not the right place ?
//Edit
Now I am confused as I found
"AppleHDAController 2.6.0a12" in "/Extra/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents"
and an
"AppleHDAController 2.6.0f1" in "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/".
The versions are from "Info.plist" within the folders.
Where comes the "prelinked v1111.0" from and does the system ignore his own and new Controller kext?
Thx
Lars
-
You have to download the 2.6.0 patched version of applehda from somewhere on the site, just search applehda 10.9.2, then drop in e/e and run myfix.
Thx
but does not work (full and quick fix tested for / as target).
Cheers

Just a short Note, the update to 10.9.2 breaks my Audio.
I will see if I can get more information.

...will do
Many thanks

Now with a rebranded DW1510 .
Used the codes "Vendor: 0x106B / Product: 0×0093"
from http://www.osxlatitude.com/rebranding-broadcom-802-11abgn-cards-as-airport-extreme/

are you still getting the EBIOS error?
If so, make sure you don't have any usb devices plug in and try booting again.
I only got the messages when I start the Installation with my USB Installer Stick.
The normal boot from HDD or SSD works fine.
I changed the following in Chameleons Config to get "Autostart" working.
<key>Instant Menu</key> <string>No</string> ## From Yes to No <key>Timeout</key> ## New <string>4</string>
Btw, DVD is working now and Audio is fine with Headphones

Are you booting from an external USB drive? Try booting with USBBusFix=No and without the -v
...only when I use my usb stick for the installation!
I will checkout the other links.
Many many thanks from Germany
Lars

Try this boot pack. Run myHack, select install Extra, select USB installer as the target and the source, point this this extra folder. You'll need to replace your wireless card with a supported one as Intel is not.
Hi@all,
the built process and the installation with MyHack was working very well , no kernel panic.
The system boots without USB after the installation and I don't see any serious problems actually.
Network works, full Display Resolution, Mouse Pad OK (activated button touch though pad), OSX update OK.
I did a few reboots, all working fine since Monday.
I built a second Installation on SSD, perfect.
Only a few smaller issues are:
-Audio sounds strange/dully, not clear, but OK for me HEADPHONES OK, HDA for 10.9.2 sounds normal
-
DVD Software Player don't recognize the Video DVD correctly (VLC has the same issue), nothing urgent.WorkingOpen actually:
-I have to figure our if I need to change command and option keyI use the system like it is-supported WLAN card (recommendations welcome)Working DW1510One comment:
If I boot the install stick without "-v" I still get the "EBIOS" message but not if I boot with "-v".
Thank you very much for your support

Hi,
I rebuild another USB Key with OSX 10.9 and the Extra Pack from Nolen's first post.
After the Stick was rebuild with all data I removed
EDP include removedExtensions nvram.44454c4c-5800-1036-8034-c8c04f485631.plist modules
from the Extras folder at the USB Stick and rerun MyHack with MyFix (Quick).
Boot with the USB Stick but still get the same messages.
"EBios Read Error" at normal boot and "P-State Stepper Error" when I boot with "-v".
But here a few more kernel extensions messages.
Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement(1111.0)... com.apple.driver.IOPlatformPluginLegacy(1.0)... dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4) dependency: com.apple.driver.IOPlattformPluginFamily(5.5.1d27)... com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin/1.0)... dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.4)... dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.8)... dependency: com.apple.driver.IOPlattformPluginFamily(5.5.1d27)... dependency: com.apple.driver.AppleSMC(3.1.6d1)... ...

Sorry, I was not precise enough.
at first, I use MyHack 3.3.1.
Also, this guide is for mavericks... it is unkown wether these kexts will work with SL
I have built the USB Boot Stick under an virtual 10.6, the target is Mavericks.
6. Rerun myHack and choose install extra, choose Extra, wait for all processes to finish
7. Select Install Extra and point to the Extra folder attached (extract it first)
Sorry, but I need to ask again,
are Step 6 and Step 7 together "One Step" to install the files and data from "extra.zip" ?
Disable UEFI, not supported with Chameleon. Please include your max display resolution too.
GFX: Intel HD 3000, 1366x768
I try to boot with F12 in legacy mode. This should work or not?
Btw, boot in legacy mode show the same messages.
Thx for your help

[GUIDE] Mavericks on Dell Latitude E6420

Jolly Roger,
did you try the bootloader with "-v" as I wrote in post #14 ?
On my Dell it doesn't matter which USB Port I use but I got a Special 6420 package from Jake Loo for my i5 System with Post #13.
Good luck...
