  1. Just here to say after investigation and trial and error I've found the issue to be mostly caused by the incorrect installation of the Intelbluetooth drivers. After removing the set of intel bluetooth kext I had installed, I was able to get normal boot times. I then found the proper instructions on Dortania that recommend NOT to install the Intelbluetoothinjector.kext in Monterey and later. I also found that OCAT's kext updating feature may have some issues as it was recommending updating kexts that were already the most up to date and when I allowed it update them, specifically AirportItlwm.kext, I ended up with a bootloop.
  2. hey guys just checking in to see if anyone has successfully updated to Opencore 9.8 on their e7450. Having multiple issues ranging from slow boot, to boot loop, to halt on error. Using OCAT (opencore auxiliary tool) to facilitate the update. Using Jake Lo bootpack E7450_OC_0.8.7 as a starting point and intelwifi. SMBIOS is Macbook Pro 12,1. Going to return to using this base configuration as it works - I'm just curious to see if others have updated OpenCore without issue.
  3. Thanks for the reply, what you did gave me an idea. I needed to try and install AppleSDXC.kext from Mojave into my Big Sur. but its not as simple as it used to be and you can't inject it with opencore it'll just cause a panic. I used Command Line SnapShot Mounter-V2 from github to install the Mojave version kext into my Big Sur S/L/E. **Note you must first disable sip** Once that was all done and rebooted all the different Micro SD cards were working regardless of brand.
  4. I just noticed this weird thing happening with my E7440's SD card reader. I put in a 32gb SanDisk Ultra Micro SD Card in the reader and nothing mounted. I put in a different brand Micro SD Card in and it mounted no problem. I thought that was odd so I went through a bunch of my memory cards and most mounted and a couple did not. The strange thing is I have an identical E7440 that is on Mojave and all the cards mounted without issue on that laptop. I've tried reformatting, different SD adapter holders still no dice. If I use a usb adapter reader they will work but not in the card reader and only some brands. Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences. thanks.
  5. Your probably right I just did it for fun. I dunno the thought being able to find one of these at a garage sale for like $10 and be able to run El Capitan pretty well on it is amazing to me.
  6. So after much mucking around and loading/unloading a plethora of older kexts files I had archived, I've found a set that gave me clean sound output from this old laptop with El Capitan installed. It was this VoodooHDA.kext whose version is not even in the get info so I can't provide it. I'm pretty sure that the files came from one of the D630 bootpacks found on this site as I found it in a folder called Extra/storage/kextpacks/voodooHDA1. I'm going to attach them here with the caveat that your mileage may very. But hopefully this helps someone dealing with the poor audio some of the other VoodooHDA provide. voodooHDA1.zip
  7. Also oddly I have all USB ports working without USB_Injector.kext but I am using a different DSDT.aml. I've attached incase somebody would like to confirm. DSDT.aml copy.zip
  8. I recently revisited my old D630 NVS that was running Lion and saw on YouTube someone successfully installed El Capitan. So I gave it a try (clover based) and got it up and running. Everything appears to be working as well as the previous Lion install except for Sound. On my Lion install I had Sigmatel Sound working well via AppleHDA.kext and FakeSTAC9205.kext. this EL Cap install uses VoodooHDA.kext to get sound working sort of. The issue is that sound is crackled and YouTube video and sound fall out of sync and cut out periodically. Maybe that's just how it is with The D630 VoodooHDA and EL Capitan anI just want to see if any others having same issue or is there a solution I can try. I tried to use the old next that was working in Lion but they just caused the boot to hang.
  9. my USB headset failed to be recognized, hear sound or use mic. I found this interesting article online http://openradar.appspot.com/11427549 about AppleUSBAudio.kext lacks valid OSBundleCompatibleVersion key / 10.7.4 (11E53) so I tried rolling back this kext to earlier 2.7.9 version and rebuilt cache repaired permissions etc. reboot. Went to sound prefs and BAMM! USB Headset is now recognized and working. This was on a Dell d630 Laptop running 10.7.4 Lion hope it helps someone.
